We recently purchased the vehicle used, so was unaware of the condition on the break pads. I scheduled an appointment with Rainey's automotive and dropped off the vehicle the next day. Promptly, the mechanic personally called me, and told me that my breaks were not bad, they were about 1/2 life left, but the rotors looked like they had surface damage from being too hot. He resurfaced the rotors, and it took care of the problem. The mechanic could have lied, and told me the breaks were bad, and made more money, but was honest. I advised him I needed certainty on what was wrong so that I can get my car back running. He said he would order parts and once they arrive he could replace those parts and whatever it's not he wouldn't charge me for it. He made promises about payment plans and that he would order the parts immediately and have the guy who works on jeeps to come out and perform the job. He reached out to me shortly after leaving and I never heard from him again. 2 weeks passed I reached out about a follow up to complete repairs and received no response via Yelp, Text or Call. I was lied to and he did not know what he was doing he didn't even prop the vehicle up on a jack to look under it he simply looked under it with a flash light for a few minutes and said he believed it to be a water pump issue. As a result I had to get my vehicle towed to an actual mechanic where it was properly diagnosed. Speaking of a diagnosis he ONLY used a basic hand held diagnostics machine which I already had my own to determine that it was a leak but he did no real labor. I would never recommend this person or his business. He basically took my money and ran. Incredibly unprofessional. Do NOT use this business for any reason whatsoever and do not let them anywhere near your car unless you want more problems.
