This place does as little as they can and still somehow keep members. Everything is broken, they skimp on heating the pool, it's dirty, and the people don't give a crap. The only good thing about this gym is the outdoor pool, but the people who use it have no clue about swimming laps and the courtesies expected. I am a dedicated pool user. The reason for this is that I have arthritis and the pool provides the only relief from the pain. Unfortunately a tree fell on the fence around the pool 1 month ago and caused damage to the fence but NOT the pool. The pool remains closed ! The lack of communication with the members is the most frustrating to me. No one seems to have a plan or if they do they do not share it! One month to repair a 15 -20 foot breach in a fence seems unreasonable. Everyone I ask from the front counterman to the manager giving you a shrug and a smile when you ask about progress is frustrating!!! You pay for what you get honestly. Cheap membership from cheap gym. Equipment is always broken and takes months to fix. There is no one monitoring the place half the time so people steal equipment. Definitely not for someone who's into weight training, so I'm 5'8 and a solid bencher, this bench they have is higher than what I'm used to even at 225 my 60percent I have trouble racking the barbell, i cant imagine how the short dudes feel. the room is not properly ventilated so the dudes who have musk you gonna smell it, yes I did leave as soon as a certain dude came in to do barbell rows 10 ft away from me . weight rooms are heavily divided. Review for the Pool area only- Older pool but is kept in pretty good condition. Water is very clean. Only 4 lounge chairs (which are all kind of dirty). A few tables and chairs. This pool does not have built in, large steps... only ladders to get in and out. I could see these being difficult for some people to use. All in all a good pool but could use some TLC for the patio furniture. read more

I was a bit hesitant to sign up for this gym. My boyfriend goes here and I went with him one day and the place was under construction. It was messy, dusty, HOT, and the restrooms were not that great. I decided to give them a chance when I looked into their HIIT classes. I went last month and they are cleaner, the AC works, and it is not dusty anymore. The restrooms still need work, but it seems like they are still under construction. The classes are amazing! I don't remember when was the last time I sweated so much. I even got my boyfriend to attend and he was drenched in sweat as well. I feel great afterward and the coach is AMAZING. He allowed me to feel comfortable and I do not feel intimidating doing the crazy work outs. After two weeks of the classes my body feels stronger and like I have more stamina. *Update* Left because someone broke their AC trying to steal in in MARCH and it still isn't fixed. The punk kid at the front desk gave me a ton of attitude about not knowing how Insurance works. I'M AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER. It's pretty clear the owner pocketed the cash from the claim or didn't have insurance, because this is the sort of thing that takes a couple weeks to handle. Either way, good luck ever having AC here again. ---- They changed their name and closed their old Yelp page, I assume because of the terrible reviews. Rest assured, the place is still falling apart. There are at least a dozen major holes in the floor- which you cannot see, since they are hidden under the cheap matting they put down. So have fun, there's a good chance you'll step in a hole and twist an ankle carrying heavy DBs to a bench. Currently both sides of the cable machine are broken. One side has been broken since summer. All of the handles are fraying and almost broken. Grip has peeled off the pull down bars. Notice the big orange cones that are taped down to the floor. Those are spots where the holes are so large, they decided to mark them off. Those have been there since summer with no signs of being repaired. Honestly, management- get your head on straight and get this place together. It's a joke and it's an embarrassment. Nobody would care if you upped the membership fee $5/mo to pay for actually fixing the safety hazards and broken equipment. How do you have ZERO pride of ownership over this place? read more

I have been going to this gym since centerpoint and I can't believe the decline of this place. The only reason I still go is for the racquetball courts. It's always hot even though they said they were getting new AC. There is not enough cardio equipment. Things break and don't get fixed. They just keep adding members but they don't put that money back into the place. I may be having to switch because I can't always get on the equipment. Very disappointing! read more

WORST GYM EVER. GO ELSEWHERE. 4/13/2018 Five months of being promised a refund by various employees have produced nothing but lip service. They don't even honor their promise to give me an update on the status. They have failed to respond to 2 requests for info from the BBB. Next I will be filing a small claims lawsuit. Several of my friends and neighbors have canceled their memberships for various reasons. Do yourself a favor and join another gym. THINK TWICE ABOUT GIVING YOUR MONEY TO THIS PLACE. I'd give it zero stars if I could. I joined when it was Fitness Evolution (same owners, same managers) and prepaid for 48 personal trainer sessions. They stopped offering personal trainers in the middle of my membership. I've been trying for over 4 months to get a $918 refund for my unused sessions. I get the run around every time. Ibeen promised a refund several times but have gotten nothing. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. BBB rates them F (under their former name Fitness Evolution) for not responding to customer complaints. Don't waste your time or money here. Lots of other gyms. 3/19/18 Hi Christy. Credit where credit is due. This place had some major issues and I previously gave them a negative review, but they've really turned things around. Nice people but this gym is one report to the health department from being shut down. No AC in the main gym room. They've been saying they are waiting for insurance to fix it since March. In the Information Age there can be no bs. It's unbearably stuffy and hot. The main gym has zero windows. During peak hours it stinks, it's stuffy and super muggy. I had to cancel my membership. I've been here since it was Centerpoint. It's great for racket ball if that's your thing. read more

Been a committed member since October 2017 and since then the following issues have not been resolved: musty carpet in the locker room, missing wall tiles + exposed piping in the bathroom, regularly broken hot tub, out of service sauna, missing ceiling panels. There also usually seems to be at least one machine broken every couple of weeks. Complaints filed via the gym's app have clearly gone unanswered. I assumed 4 months was a decent trial period; if a business with 5 locations doesn't have enough revenue to keep all locations clean and in good repair it's not worthy of my hard-earned dollars. read more

I've been going to Fit Republic every day for nearly a month. I have a membership which gives me access to everything as well as a personal trainer who works there as a subcontractor. She accommodates my schedule and she knows I really enjoy classes offered by the gym, so she works around those for me. I can't say enough about the staff. They are wonderful. Any time I have a problem with anything (usually how to operate a piece of equipment), any of the staff will help me. Nobody there acts like they're being bothered. Almost forgot the outdoor pool. Love that too! Bottom line, I feel like family there. I've belonged to other gyms and I'll never go back. Fit Republic has its problems, but expecting perfection is unreasonable. I love this location because it's by my house and it has so much potential the problem is, it seems like they are really just letting it go. I don't like to complain and I'm pretty easy to please but this place seems to be getting worse. I'm considering cancelling my membership. First they close the sauna. No big deal. Then they close the hot tub. Again, not a huge deal. Now the a/c is broken or something. I understand some people like it warm to workout but it's flat out hot in there. If the gym is packed like it is today I can't finish my workout because of all the body heat. They brought in big fans to blow cool air from where the ac does work but it's ridiculously hot still. Today it was hotter in the gym then outside. I guess they are waiting till summer is over so they don't have to fix it. The cable machine has been broken for well over 6 months. I guess they just aren't going to fix it. The men's bathrooms are horrible. The doors don't even latch. Looks like the first set of foot locks broke so they drilled new new patches and they don't line up. I mean I'm not a picky guy but you gotta have some basic things that work Really disappointed I hope they fix this location soon. read more

I've personally witnessed a large rat on multiple occasions run through the front area, the treadmills shut off mid run, the handball/ Raquetball courts are raining paint. My fiancé informed me that all but 1 toilet in the women's locker room was out of order the other day. If ownership would take a little pride in this facility it could be great. They are probably only worried about there new acquisition of Fort Washington Fitness that this facility will continue to deteriorate. read more
