Kerry explained that the gym will need monthly payments from me during training. Fine. She and the owner explained the contract I was signing was permission for auto-pay out from my debit card. Fine. One month after my training ended, my bank issued a new debit card. Several months later, I received notice from a predatory collector saying I owed $405 - a bill for the rest of the year. I told the collector and Iron Gym that I was seriously mislead. The owner intentionally misrepresented the contract she had me sign, in a rushed manner, which committed me to a one year membership. i'm not the only person the gym has mislead in this way. The owner has a fiduciary responsibility to honestly represent any contract. It doesn't matter if some commitment is hidden somewhere in the small print. I was intentionally mislead, "Just sign this so we can debit your credit card account." That is illegal. When I complained about the situation, I was told by an Iron Gym associate that I would've needed to cancel in writing, but I didn't even know they were charging me, because they were tapping a canceled debit card for months. They had my address and my phone number, and could've contacted me immediately after the first missed payment . Instead, they continued to let the fees accumulate- for months! They sold the account to a collection agency. When I explained the situation, and refused payment, my credit rating was reduced from EXCELLENT to FAIR. I pay my bills. Don't sign anything with them!!

The gym is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking, which made getting in and out easy. The entrance, front desk area, and overall facility felt clean, open, and welcoming. The equipment was in good condition and appeared well-maintained. One thing I always notice at a gym is whether people re-rack their weights, and that seemed to be the case here, which is usually a good sign of a respectful gym community. The locker rooms were also clean and well-kept. Compared to the 15-20 Planet Fitness locations I've visited over the years, this location feels a bit older and may not have received some of the upgrades I've seen at newer clubs, especially on the West Coast. It doesn't have some of the newer equipment options, such as squat racks, bench presses, or a few of the other additions I've seen elsewhere. I also noticed the tanning area features traditional lay-down beds rather than the standing units that some newer locations offer. That said, none of those things would stop me from coming back. The gym is clean, the equipment is well-maintained, the atmosphere is comfortable, and it was consistently a pleasant place to work out. Overall, I thought this was a solid Planet Fitness location and one I would happily visit again when I'm in the area. 4/5

She is on a power trip and uses her "authority" on members to degrade and yell at them for actions other people are doing aswell in the gym. Apparently taking off your sweatshirt and putting in on the floor in a small empty corner in the gym along with your belongings is a reason to be screamed at and have a finger pointed in your face. While 7 other members also have their sweatshirts or towels within the same area. We come to the gym for an hour everyday, do our workout and leave. we no longer will be going here after her very rude, unprofessional and egregious behavior and misconduct. Do not go here unless you want your every move to be criticized and managed by Cathy who is clearly very miserable with herself and has to harass paying customers who are just trying to get a quick workout in.

Both locations need to work on member etiquette. People sit on the benches texting for 5 10 or 15 minutes at a time. Chelmsford, we will go blind trying to do a bench press because the lighting is very intense when lane on the bench. I'm surprised nobody has tried to address that. Chelmsford is overcrowded for workout equipment of plenty of cardio. Lowell is pretty well balanced.
