Treacherous business. Beware of the contract and the horrible cancellation policy!!! There's no reason for them to charge so much to cancel your membership. It cost me $300 to cancel my membership after two years. We paid early every month and never missed a payment or even paid late. But we moved too far away and couldn't keep coming so we needed to cancel especially with a baby on the way. They wouldn't even cancel it over the phone so I had to find time to drive all the way back. ... Thank you for the offer but this isn't about money. Professional kindness and respectful treatment are more important to most of us than money. I've run my own businesses for 25 years and have never treated a client this way when the relationship was over. I was relocated to Orlando 2yrs ago for work. I visited many gyms in the nearby area. Hands down Gold's (Fitness CF) is the best gym for serious workout. I go early mornings to train and it's never crowded. Avoid the high traffic times and no wait for equipment. The front staff and floor staff are friendly and helpful always. The name changed, and the gym improved. I've seen many additions, remodel and new equipment. If you missed the email of the name change, the gym offered great explanation well in advance of the name change. Gold's franchise fees and restrictions on the owners for expanding other locations was the determining factor they offered. I don't care about the name change. It's a great place to workout and reasonably priced without contract or huge signup fee when i joined. I've never been to a gym that didn't have a yearly maintenance fee. They post signs and emails as reminders before it's due. It's reasonable, basically equal to one month fee. I pay $34.95/month for premium membership. I believe the maintenance fee was $39 this year. I'd give 5 stars but there are few improvements I'd like to mention. More times than not, the gym weights and machine attachments are all over the floor. There's no enforcement I've seen of lazy inconsiderate members to do their part in reracking weights. Yeah, it's the members, but we know people will sometimes do only what they're required to do. The other point is, dudes have huge restrictions on the type of shirt they can wear, but some of the ladies walk around and workout in bikini type tops. Let's make this equal if there's going to be restrictions on what kind of tank or side cut shirt a dude can wear. Thank you owners and staff for making this gym a great place to train! My husband and I love this gym. We recently renewed our membership there for another year. I have had a membership unbroken at this gym for 17 years and they have always maintained a clean facility and friendly environment. The sales manager Dylan took great care of us for our annual renewal. I've looked at other gyms in the area and I just don't feel the same motivation as I do when I'm at CF. They have equipment and classes and programs to suit virtually any level of physical fitness including childcare. I would highly recommend this gym to anybody who lives in the Dr. Phillips area. read more

You owe anything due "in the next 30 days" so even if you cancelled a day before your pay emend date you still have to pay next months and a $40 fucking dollar "enhancement" fee. Oh yea, and the finance company the front desk sends you to doesn't help you one fucking bit and redirects you to a website. They are way too proud of their gym, it ain't that great. I will tell lieterally anyone and everyone I know to NEVER sign up for this scam of a fucking gym. To respond to the person telling me that it's in the contract. Just because it's in the contract doesn't mean it isn't bullshit, unethical and people need to know that these things exist before ever setting foot in there so they don't lost an additional $70 to cancel the year long contract that goes month to month after a year but can't end unless you pay an additional month as well as a $40 "enhancement fee". read more

Overall the equipment is good. There are some missing pieces here and there that could be added such as a hip belt squat or reverse hyper but that's just nitpicking. The gym is always busy which makes it kind of dirty. I'll go in the bathroom to wash my hands and then leave quickly. Don't leave ANYTHING behind because it will get stolen most likely. And not by members either. How could you have cameras everywhere except where the lost and found items go? My suggestion to you folks is to monitor the lost and found section a little better. If you have problems with thieves then lock things up and only give top management keys. Mr. Lewis I know you read these reviews and since you never responded or acknowledged my email I figured this would be another way to get your attention. Thanks. The worst gym I've been able to go to in my life, you pay a membership for nothing, they even charge you more than the bill and then they don't want to be held responsible, over $ 400. Then he tells you that they can't help you and that they don't give you all the money back. I do not recommend it to anyone. I had the same problem twice. I never recommend it. It saddens me with people who do not check their accounts daily and I imagine they do not know that they are charging too much! Really disappointed with this gym. When I signed up, I was excited because it had decent equipment and was close to my house. After being there the last few months, I've really stopped enjoying working out. The members treat this gym terribly. People don't re-rack their weights or wipe down their equipment (this could also be due to the lack of cleaning wipes available as the cleaning stations are frequently empty). You can usually find plates and dumbbells scattered across the gym floor at any given time. I've had to spend a good chunk of time cleaning up after people before I can even use a machine or bench. It's some of the worst gym etiquette I've ever seen at a gym (comparable to a standard La Fitness). People are on their phones while sitting on the machines and spend more time taking pictures of themselves than actually working out. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience overall. read more

Still my favorite gym to work out at even after they take the gold's gym sign out , it was never about the name as much as it as about the machines , the staff and the cleanliness of the place where I spend at least hour everyday . Just moved to Orlando from Kansas City. This gym is literally directly across the street from my new home, so my boyfriend and I joined. Quite frankly it's an incredible place. The equipment they have is second to none - not only TONS of equipment offered, but unique stuff I haven't found at any other gym. They also have a women's only section, classes galore, hydro massage, tanning, etc., and it's all included with your membership. We didn't pay any initiation fee and the monthly cost is super affordable. However, my favorite part of Fitness CF, is the personal trainer I was set up with. Upon joining, I was given a free session with a trainer, Stephanie Avila, and I fell in love with her! Stephanie is the most amazing, professional, enthusiastic, creative, intelligent, compassionate, kind, challenging and motivating trainer I've ever had the privilege of working with. She's truly a gem and I'm now working out with her consistently twice per week! So grateful to have met her. So, yeah, I absolutely recommend Fitness CF. Thanks!!! read more

This place's lack of communication is infuriating. We were told on Sunday when we called that the place would be open on Monday and closed on Tuesday for Hurricane Dorian, which makes sense and which is what we planned our whole day on. We get to the gym to the surprise that NOBODY IS THERE...and a simple sign on the door said "Closed due to inclement weather"...On a perfectly sunny Monday morning...no call, no notice, just a sign on the door, at least 15 people were outside with disappointment on their face. And the worst part is that they're actually reopening with WORSE WEATHER AT A WORSE TIME! In conclusion, I miss Gold's Gym; the predecessor of Fitness CF, the only true reason why Fitness CF has good equipment. After leaving a 5-Star rating a few months ago & leaving an excellent review (because I truly believe Fitness CF is the best gym in Orlando), sadly, I had to adjust my review. I recently launched a fitness apparel line & inquired with the GM, Adam, about collaborating with Fitness CF to get my fitness apparel, "Chosen 1," inside the facility. At Fitness CF they have a retail section by the front desk where they sell clothing & some accessories to assist your workouts - water jugs, waist trainers, etc. Adam referred me to the lady in charge of the retail aspect of the gym & so I emailed her about my desire, I explained the meaning behind the brand (which is, not only positive, but fits right in with the theme behind most peoples' reason & motivation for working out), I stated that I'd been a loyal member going on 7 years, & also that I'd referred many people. After no response to my initial email & follow-up emails for almost a month, she finally replied & said they were doing some reorganizing of their retail section & would have to "hold off." As a loyal member to the gym for going on 7 years, who has established solid relationships with much of the staff (both past, present & those who have recently joined the team) & also has referred several members, I am sorely offended/hurt. I assured her that our partnership would be both monetarily beneficial & beneficial to their image of being more than just "another gym" - that which they are not! Nevertheless, the Chosen 1 brand would be another added benefit, & of course being the owner & member of the gym who works out regularly, I would, of course have a vested interest in referring even more people to the gym & encouraging people to purchase apparel & from the retail shop. I, also, assured her that the margin for profit would be greater than that in which they were already receiving from the affiliate companies already on display inside the gym, without having to kick the other companies out. There is much wasted space in the retail section - also known as, the Pro Shop - that can be capitalized on for the benefit of the facility, the benefit of its members & the benefit of a small business owner with a dream who has supported the gym for almost a decade! Loyalty, regular attendance, referrals, social media promotions & shoutouts (free marketing), & more! Not to mention I bought several apparel items from this facility when they were still Gold's gym. Don't waste your money on their unprofessional services. I signed up for a year and quit after their terrible treatment. All they can do is trying to charge my money. First, the agent persuaded me to enroll the $39.99 member with free access to the massage room, movie cardio room, towels, and so on. However, $26.61 member had the same benefits. Any member can ask for a towel or towels were sometimes being washed. The movie cardio room closed. The receptionist gave me a common code for using the massage bed. You can enter any class without being asked. There was no complimentary trainer session like LA Fitness for the new members. After realizing what I paid didn't deserve, I asked for the downgrade but they told me to pay $99 to switch another member type. Second, their facilities are old and not well-equipped, sometimes not clean. No one checked the sauna room. The toilet was sometimes dirty. Shampoo and shower gel were not always available. Other members left trash around. The gym club was closed in March due to the county order and open again in May. I asked them to freeze my account for a month as I was concerned about the COVID virus. Then I asked them to extend for another month as I was at high-risk with the COVID-19. The financial agent refused my request because I could only freeze my account once a year. They didn't care about my situation. There was no understanding and sympathy here. I had no choice but quit the club, and the agent handling my case was rude and unhelpful. They even double charged my last month because I canceled membership no matter what I froze my account. I had to call a few times to ask them for a refund. It ended up that I had to pay for a one-month penalty amidst the pandemic crisis. They offered my roommate who had already quit for $19.99 a month while I was going to stay with them after the pandemic, but for what they have done, I never go back. read more

Showed up at 8 to find a crappy hand written note on the door that it was closed because of wheathrr. It wasbeautiful at this time. I drive thirty minutes to get there. Please allow me to preface my review by stating Fitness CF is without a doubt the best and cleanest gym in central Florida!  They have amazing amenities such as state of art equipment, cardio classes, dancing classes as well as a wireless system so you can tune into your favorite tv, movie or radio station.  Fitness trainers and staff are extremely knowledgeable, courteous and friendly.   Positive atmosphere to get into shape for ALL ages.  Rates are very competitive and they give military discounts to veterans.   Having said that, I would like to give my HIGHEST recommendation to Fitness CF and to those who are looking for a gym to improve their health. read more

Don't believe what he says and don't sign with them...He singed me up in a family membership and deleted my son account who was on his own and added him to me account. They keep charging my son' credit card and my credit card. Then he said that I can cancel with $100 cancellation fee and it was a lie. We ended up paying $153.00 double payments with extra fees on my son's credit card, 143.76 sign up any 1 month payment my credit card, 143.76 cancellation fee on my son's account, 250.26 cancellation fee on my account. CF Fitness is amazing! I've been a member for the last few months and I'm really impressed! My fitness experience starts at the front desk with a friendly welcome from the attendants, usually, it's Brian and John. They always make me feel welcome and appreciated. Brian is so attentive to his job that I've started calling him Mr. CF Fitness! He take's his job seriously and I like that! The entire facility is well equipped and super clean! On one visit I noticed another employee named Brian in the men's locker room. He was actually on a ladder cleaning the tile where the wall meets the ceiling at 10'. Who does that! I made an effort to tell him what a great job he is doing and appreciate his extra efforts. If he's taking the time to clean there I know he taking care of business. I'm particularly enjoying all the classes offered. It really makes working out a lot more interesting than just using the equipment by yourself. They offer all kinds of different classes and I'm making an effort to try each one out. So far I've tried BodyPump, Yoga, BodyFlow, Spinning, CXWORKS, BodyCombat and a few more. The classes are awesome and really kicking my butt, but that's why I'm there! The instructors make working out a fun time! Encouraging, supportive, high energy and professional. Most welcome new attendees and repeat ones too at the start of the class They even take the time to ask and remember your name. I like that, I'm feeling the love! Three instructors that really stand out are Carmen, Trisha and Anna Maria. Anna Maria, she is a hoot! Always high energy, funny and makes you feel welcome. She's from Italy and I dont always understand what she's saying but I love going to her classes! Lol. Need a personal trainer, they have a bunch! I've spent some time with just two personal trainers, Louis and Jose. Both were very helpful and professional. Not sure if I will need their help as I'm still exploring all the CF has to offer but it's reassuring to know it's available. I've been coming to this gym for almost 20 years, my family comes here, I've brought friends to join this gym throughout the years, so on December 23rd I went to work out and after I was done, went to take a shower and I realized I've forgotten my towel, so I go to the front desk to borrow one and the lady there( KATHLEEN) asked me if I was enrolled in the towel program, I responded, I wasn't sure, I always bring my own towel and whenever I forget mine I ask for one with no problem, so she checks my account and tells me that I'm not enrolled in the program so she can not provide one for me, so I said, I've been here for 20 years, never knew about this program and you are going to denay me one towl.?? So, I'm sorry, this is very poor customer service, she (KATHLEEN) could have offered for me to enroll in the program or give me the towl and tell me to next time bring my own. I don't think that was the way to handle an issue of a loyal customer that's has been there for 20 years and has brought many business to the place. I thought they had finally cancelled it but found out 5 months later that they had separated my husband into a separate account, which they did not cancel. We found out when we received a letter from a collection agency; no letter, phone call, text, or email ahead of time. Talked to the manager and he was rude and useless. They have all the equipment you would possibly need to workout. Very big gym which I really like. My only two complaints are I wish it was more organized and my I wish they would stop using towels to clean machines. People use the same towels to clean the machines multiple times so these towels are filthy with peoples sweat on them. PLEASE GET PAPER TOWELS! The bathrooms also need more attention and should be cleaned more often. read more

I sent Susan Adams an email concerning the behavior of one of the trainers. Susan responded as I assumed that she would. She advised me that she spoke with the individual in question and that he stated he was unaware of his behavior. For me, that was a fine response and she could have ended it there. Instead she fed me some philosophy that she has in helping this individual grow by offering me two free personal training sessions with said person. Are you kidding me? Who would this offer benefit? It certainly wouldn't benefit me. It would be a financial benefit to the company as I am sure she thought that I would enjoy the sessions and then pay for additional sessions. I understand that this is a for profit business but it is appalling to attempt to profit from a customer's concern. I proposed a solution that she didnt go for as it would have entailed fitness CF losing $39. As I advised Susan I am canceling in 2 months as I am moving out of the area. It never fails that in life we meet people who are in need of recommendations for various businesses. CF in Mount Dora, FL is fair...plenty of machines, weights, etc. Sauna, but in disrepair, tanning booth rarely working, massage table usually working. My biggest complaint...you are screwed if you happen to move out of the area and there is no CF near your new home. 4 months into the contract, and we moved to our new home 2 hours away...and no CF nearby Met with the membership folks and was basically nothing they could do, contract is for one year, too bad. So, continued to pay the monthly fee for the rest of the year. Well, when the year was up...you must give us a 30 day notice you intend to cancel your membership, you owe us another month to close the membership. I am unable to leave 0 stars as it is what this business deserves for praising the disrespect of their employees. Samuel, Kayli and Adam are the worst thing that could have happened to this gym facility. --- My gym friends and I made a mistake and forgot to re-rack the weights we used in the dead lifting room. We got caught up talking and having fun that we just walked out... We are human and it happens! --- People forget all the time! we have been going there for a while and we have ALWAYS re-racked and never broke any rules nor have we ever had any complaints about us. There Employee Kayli decided it was a great idea to curse us out in the middle of the gym... instead of coming to us nicely and asking to please re-rack... until this point we realized that we forgot and we genuinely felt very bad about it. But it was not a reason to curse at paying customers. Not too long after another employee named Samuel pulled aside one of the guys named Ray.. Samuel accused him of training me and my other 3 friends (it was 4 of us total, 2 girls and 2 guys)... No one was training anyone. We workout together all the time! Except for our friend Ray who was there on a 3 day pass to check out the gym as he just moved back from California and was looking to join a gym here. His first impression was terrible. My boyfriend Eslor then went up to the front desk to apologize and just clear up that no one was training anyone.. As he approached, Kayli had the worst attitude and now started reprimanding about me recording my boyfriend in the dead lifting room stating that is not allowed and breaking peoples privacy rights... I understand that.. HOWEVER, there was no other people in the room besides us 4... and also, you can not be reprimanding us for something EVERYONE does alllll the time and no one tells them anything. IN FACT, the employees of Fitness CF record their work outs all the time and post it all over social media.. We left after this as they ruined our work out.. I was in such disbelief of the treatment i received. We go back a few days later, after getting over it. I don't think it was even 15 minutes into our workout.... Otto approached us and stated Samuel reported my boyfriend Eslor was training us.. 1st it was Ray training me, my friend and Eslor ... now it was Eslor training me and my friend.... at this point we are feeling targeted... All 3 of us follow a workout APP and we work out TOGETHER!! Eslor is NOT our trainer.. we do NOT have a trainer. As Otto is speaking to us Samuel is behind him taunting, laughing and being so rude with us... We ask for his name and his reply was "It's Samuel.. Do you want me to spell it out for you? S-A-M-U-E-L" He was laughing as it was cool of him to treat us that way.. I was so overwhelmed I began crying. Still accusing Eslor of being a "trainer" because they saw him sitting down or working out for 15 seconds while my friend and I were doing nothing... Me and her were talking!!! WE WERE TALKING! Gossiping about our day at work and other personal things. So we are not allowed to do that? We left without even being able to begin our workout from how uncomfortable we felt after this again disgusting treatment.. The next day, Eslor my boyfriend receives a call from a man named Adam who stated he is the General Manager of this location.. He was absolutely RUDE!!! 1.. turns out he is NOT the GM.. and 2.. he is a co-manager.. and if a member of leadership can be this disgusting no wonder the employees are. They set the standard and the employees follow. He laughed at us, yelled, and also accused. He even told my friend if she "wanted to take this outside" which made her feel very uncomfortable. All this time everyone kept mentioning they have cameras all over the gym and that they would go and look at them.. But they have not. Because instead of apologizing they have been nothing but rude. They need to look at there cameras to see that there employees have been lying... and also a higher up manager needs to listen to the phone call Adam made to us to hear how repulsive he was... The contract that I signed a year ago was with Golds Gym. I did not sign any agreement with CF Fitness. Therefore, their cancellation policy for should not apply for me. The reason I signed up for Golds was because they had locations across the globe and now I am told that I do not have free access to any of those gyms. Without warning their members, they up and changed their whole company. Any policy or agreement that I signed with Golds does not apply with CF fitness. This place is always cheating and doing trick to charge you annual contract even if you are over a year.

So they are a great gym to begin with - huge space with plenty of equipment. With the reopening of gyms in the area, they did a great job trying to keep the customers safe. 1st - your temp is taken when you walk in, and then you are given your own personal sanitizer spray bottle and towel. 2nd - there is a limited number of spray bottles, so the capacity is limited to the availability of them (so hint, you may need to wait in the lobby for a spray bottle to be turned in before you will be able to get in if you go during rush hours). 3rd - in addition to your personal bottle, there are at least 10 sanitizer dispensers throughout the gym. 4th - seemed like everyone was diligent about wiping down equipment. 5th - every other piece of cardio equipment was caution-taped off so that no one was doing it next to someone else. Only challenges are that only 10% were wearing masks (and don't think it was a requirement), and that there is so much equipment, that many of the them are too close together and crowded. Having said that, it's a better setup and Covid-safer than the LA Fitness and 24hr Fitness clubs in the area. read more

I first went to this CF fitness location (formerly Gold's) when it opened in 2003. I went on and off for 10 years but was not really happy there. They kept adding more and more machines, which is great to work out, but they were so close together and, unfortunately, some of the members would just sit on the machines on their cell phone, not using the machine, and preventing you from using it. They did usually get some new machines at the beginning of each year. I went to Planet Fitness for a couple of years and was very happy there except for the fact that there was not enough variety of machines. So I went back to Gold's before they changed to Fitness CF. Well, in 14 years they have not made many changes to the upstairs women's space. I put a comment in the suggestion box and received no response. Most of the weight machines up there are the same as they were when it opened in 2003. They are falling apart. I feel that they really do not care about that part of the gym because it is out of sight and not a main concern. Also, there is a sign on the wall that says if you can't put the weights down, don't pick them up. It is not enforced. The noise from the dropping of 250plus pound weights and the grunting is REALLY annoying. I do not feel that they really care about the atmosphere, even though it goes back to some of the members. I see some people do not wipe off their machines when finished. Very interesting to see how many members do not respect other members. I WOULD NOT recommend it to someone. read more
