Service wasn't helpful but was in and out as I knew what I wanted. Bought several pairs ($9.60 for 8lb, $12.00 for 10lb, $14.40 for 12lb and 15lb). He answered all of my questions and put aside a few items for me that I hadn't ordered online. When I arrived there in person I was able to test out the products and purchase them. I can't tell however if it's because they have zero knowledge or are just plain rude. I've gone there a few times and it's been extremely consistent. I encountered THE biggest jerk of all time. Blonde, tall, old, unprofessional! I came by this place about a month ago to place an order, I stopped in quite a few times to look for 20lbs weights. They were always sold out. I believe the very lovely, kind, young man who ordered them for me felt sorry for me. So he agreed to let me prepay, and pick them up when they were in. About three weeks later I go to pick them up, and I show this random man working my receipt on my phone, and can you believe what comes out of his mouth, "why and the fu*k would he do it like this." Walks away from me, about 4 meters looking for the weights. Muttering and swearing under his breath the entire search for them. I was shocked, and personally didn't know what to say or even how to act. I didn't do anything wrong. Takes him about two minute to find them, maybe less.... once he finds them, says something like "what in the fu*k" walks over to me, plops them in my hand not even making eye contact and walks away from me. I said thanks for your time kindly because I was actually scared. He doesn't respond, walking away angrily. All I thought when I left is if he's the owner or manager I feel sorry for his staff because he cannot control him temper. Not even in front of a young woman. If he's married, I bet he verbally abuses her. That's how uneasy this man made me feel. I will never ever return to this place putting myself into such a scary unwelcoming situation. First of all I will acknowledge that RETAIL DURING COVID IS STRESSFUL!!! I respect that, but the way these individuals treat customers is absolutely ridiculous ESPECIALLY since weights have doubled in price since mid-March due to COVID. Weights used to be $1 per lb, they are now $2 per lb. This location was selling USED/POOR QUALITY db's for full price. Not new db's, but some that look like they were discovered in someone's basement from the 80's. Customer's are in there buying equipment for SELF CARE practices while being spoken down to the entire time. This happened to me BOTH times I went into the store. Please give your staff a break so they can come back to work feeling refreshed and polite. read more

My overall experience as in times gone by has been mediocre but this post is with regards to Robert M. (Rob). He is a straight up guy cutting to the chase giving you the required information on the equipment you wish to purchase. No oversell here. What was going to be problematic for me was to assemble a programmed stationary bike. What he did was not only to assemble the bike for me but brought it to my house. During the Coronavirus, I had ordered for pick up for the next day. What they had made it clear was that it would be curbside pickup. When I had arrived the next day, there was a massive line outside and they were only allowing 1 person in at a time. These people were shopping for items whereas I and other people in line were here to pickup. I called Robert, the manager and he had told me that actually my pickup was first come first serve and that I should come back the next day. Definitely not going back. Especially not knowing if my item would have been sold already. He hung up before I could even say anything else. Don't shop here. read more

This place has its uses, but do not expect professionalism or integrity... Earlier in the Covid drama, the outlet was closed to walk-ins, citing orders could be placed online and customers would receive a call when the items were ready to be picked up, around 10 days later. - No problem, we all have to make due in this brave new Covid world. Several weeks later (way longer than 10 days), I call the number and get a recording effectively saying that some orders are taking up to 8 weeks to arrive back in stock - rest assured I'd receive a call when it was ready to be picked up, and to email if I need to contact the store. The call never went further. A bit frustrated, but understanding of the situation, I wait a few more weeks and call again. Same recording - basically, don't bug us, I will receive a call when my order is in. At 7 weeks, its hitting the extreme end of the window, so I finally email asking to confirm if my order is still not in stock. I get a reasonably prompt reply from the commercial / retail sales manager (of all people) who responds by saying my order no longer exists, and asks what I ordered. I respond with my order contents, and ask what happened to my order, given that I've been waiting 7 weeks and have been assured I would receive a call, multiple times. His response is simply that the items are in stock, on a first-come, first-served basis. In other words - I've been made to wait 7 weeks for something that may have been in stock the whole time (for all I know), may run out of stock before I'm able to make it down there (no offer was made to hold the items despite my lost order), and was offered no acknowledgment or apology by the sales manager of a problem, inconvenience, or miscommunication. Covid or not, owning up to problems and representing a business with professionalism or integrity is not a health risk. This is a matter of certain staff who just don't care. On top of that, half-way through this little adventure, I receive an email from Fitness Depot explaining that they've had a data-breach, and have effectively given a whole bunch of confidential customer information to hackers! So I've now lost identity-info to criminals for an order that was essentially useless! No why ever would I want to deal with this place again?? read more

Went in today after I saw a FB ad written by someone who I guess works there, as I've seen many ads over the last week. Went in and Ror was there and he was very helpful and they had everything he posted, which I was worried about as everyone else in the city has no equipment. Great stock Great staff. Especially Ror who help load my car, and said he'd keep up with the FB ads best as possible as it's the best way to give real time stock updates. read more

I've been here twice before and so far staff is knowledgeable and service is pretty good. I came back for more oly plates and staff is friendly, and made sure I got what I wanted and out the store. I find there's usually only one staff working on the weekends so be patient and look around if they're helping customers ahead of you. Selection and pricing is pretty good. Went in to look for dumbbells and was greeted by a very arrogant, tall, blonde man. I'm not sure If he was the manager or just an employee but he alone is the reason that we spent our $1200 at fitness town. The service was terrible and he was so arrogant; we asked about the dumbbell prices and he pretty much told us that he could charge what he wants because people will pay it these days. Bottom line he wanted to charge $2 a lb and we went to fitness town and they gave them to us at $1.5 a lb and the service was amazing! Good: Manager was courteous and professional as I was exiting the store. Bad: Went in looking for a rubber mat (http://shop.fitnessdepot.ca/Rubber-Slab-Mat-72-x-48-x-34-P767.aspx#.UPKN-PJMKSo). I asked an associate where the product would be located. He had no clue. He went to the back to look and I followed him. He showed me 1 cm thick mats that were 4'x6'. I asked if these were 3/4"because these weren't even half and inch thick. He told me that he would look into the computer. I took a measuring tape and measured. It was a little over 1 cm thick. Definitely not 3/4". I went to the computer where he was searching. He said there wasn't any online. I told him to go to the flooring section on the website. He kept typing 'rubber mat' into the search feature on their website. I told him to type in 'rubber slab' but he persisted to scroll through pages of 'rubber' results. He told me that the mats that he showed me "must be the ones because that's the only ones they carried." So I told him the results of my measurements. He went to the back with the measuring tape and measured. The associate told me that it was not 3/4", but it was 1/2". He asked me to wait as he asked the manager. He then showed me another mat which was the one I was looking for, which were noticeably thicker at 3/4". Great. But there was only one. I wanted more. So he offered to take down my name and number in order to call me "next week when they would get a shipment in". Update: They called me on 1 Feb 2013 that they had stock. I love this place. Have been building my home gym on a budget and these guys have some great stuff at great prices. Bought a squat rack, bars, resistance bands, dumbells, weight plate racks, even stuff like weight belts and chalk -been very happy with all of it. Alot of their product has limited lifetime warranty which is great. I would recomend calling before you go in to make sure they have what your looking for in stock. Sometimes they need to wait until their next delivery comes in. Staff is friendly and pretty knowledgable. The store has more of a warehouse feel and less retail wich I totally dont mind. Will definately recomended to anyone looking for gym equipment!! read more

With the lack of stability in health clubs, I found it better to order a small set and customers service was nice. Unfortunately, I found very poor quality when I actually saw a machine. Not sturdy, cheap china stuff. I called to ask a question about more sturdy models but they though my inquiry was foolish and dismissed me. If I can afford a little better I see no reason not to ask. If they cant make a fast dollar, they dont want to talk. If something goes wront there is no way they would help based on the interaction by phone. read more

pretty well anything you need to start either owning your own gym or to start your own business lol. Located by the Liquor Board head office & Broadway Tech Centre, by the side street. Not exactly a warm retail store, more warehouse but good service here. Has all the tread machines, weights, barbells, yoga mats, & buy plates of weights at anywhere from 88cents and up. They've got these cool square shape instead of the typical round ones found at the gym---so now these ones don't roll around on the floor . amazing what they think of next. free parking. read more

I came in this weekend to pick up some smaller weights. They had a lot in stock, especially with Covid rush. Both staff were helpful and helped me dig through the boxes to find the weights I needed that were buried I the bottom. Compared to the other fitness stores, Walmart, etc their service and selection was excellent. 5 stars. read more

Avoid this place for boxing gear. I bought a double-ended speed bag, set it up, punched it for twenty minutes, the bladder broke. Returning the item was not an option, and they didn't sell replacement bladders. I searched online to buy a bladder, no site for the brand came up. -Not happy! read more

I was looking for bumper plates in my home town of Kamloops and was met with poor customer service and outrageous pricing. I called fitness depot in Vancouver and the manager was extremely nice and went out of her way to help me and even called around for the cheapest shipping quote for me. I ended up getting some family that was heading that way to pick them up for me to save some cash and they were treated extremely well as all 270 lbs of plates were loaded up for them. By shopping at Fitness Depot I saved 400 over the same product in my home town. Thanks to the great Manager (Sarah) for the awesome service. I will be spending more money there soon. read more

Wowee, I haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. When I walked into the store, the guy behind the counter looked right at me for a couple of seconds, then turned around and walked in the other direction. So I looked around for a bit but couldn't find what I was looking for so I went back up to the counter. The guy and his coworker were chatting with each other and just kind of stopped and looked at me as I walked up to them. No "hi" or "how can we help you?". I told them what I was looking for and, granted, the guy that showed me where it was gave me some good information about finding the right one. After he rang me through he silently handed me my receipt....and that was it. No "thanks", no smile, no "goodbye"....no acknowledgement of any kind. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is that the prices here are so ridiculously cheap that I would (against my better judgement) definitely go back again just for the savings. read more

Paid a rower in the store to be delivered and installed 3 weeks ago. I phoned the store because I haven't received a call from the delivery service on what date the rower will be delivered. I was told to call again the next day if I don't receive a call. I phoned again the next day, and I was put on hold for 20 min. Was told "Can I put you on hold while I make a sale?" I called again after two hours, was told that she will follow-up with the manager. I received a call the next day, was told the rower will be delivered on Tuesday, from 5:30-6:00 PM. I received a voice message earlier, the rower will be delivered at 7:00 PM. At 6:39 PM, I received two missed calls, no voice message. On my third attempt of calling back at 7:10 PM, I was told, "Did you receive a call from my boss?" "I got into an accident, no lie." So, he will attempt to redeliver tomorrow at 6 PM... The store is by Boundary and Lougheed and I live by Boundary and Marine. Three weeks and counting... read more
