Do not go here! I am very upset on how they operate. I was going to the Brandon location for years and without any notice to the members they closed permanently. So, looking into a town home in a community with no gym and sourcing options in the area that are low cost, I came across Fitness for $10. This is a low-cost gym akin to Anytime Fitness if you've ever been there. At first glance this looks like a great deal: $10 a month, 24-hour availability. Well, once you read the fine print it's a bit different. You don't get 24 hour access unless you choose the $20/month plan. Also, with activation fee and annual fee you end up paying $204 for $10, and $328 for $20 option, making annual memberships $17.33 and $27.33 respectively. This makes their namesake rather misleading. Also, their giant cardio machine and nautilus circuits are closed off from 24-hour access. I canceled this membership at the beginning of October 2023. I was charged 65$ for a new year on 11/20 despite canceling ahead of time. I paid an entire year of membership for my husband even though he never once used the gym. My husband is 75 years old. As you well know, people who live on retirement are on a fixed income, however I paid the gym every month, on time even though I could not get my husband to attend. Fitness for $10 is a pretty good setup. They have a good variety of equipment. All of their equipment is in really good shape, and there is plenty of it. Even on busy days, at busy times, there is still enough equipment to go around. The busy times are normal/average for any gym. Signing up was really easy, and really quick. All of the employees are really friendly, and helpful. There area extras offered, like tanning (do people still do that?), personal training, and more. I love the fact that there are two locations (Brandon and Plant City). I prefer the Plant City one for multiple reasons. The Plant City location is conveniently located in Plant City. It's a tad smaller than the Brandon location, but it's a great gym. The staff is friendly, and most are knowledgeable about weights and fitness. The cardio area upstairs is pretty great, too. The only downside is the hours aren't like Brandon's 24hrs. Darren, the manager there, has got to be one of the most helpful employees I've experienced at both gyms. He knows what he's talking about and is always there to give advice or even just motivate you to do better. Great guy! The Brandon location, though bigger, is always busy. Lots of people cramming into the weight room all the time. Though I like that it's open 24 hours, only the weight room is open all night. The cardio area shuts down with the exception of a few cardio equipment in the weight room. I like to do some cardio before my weights, but it's a matter of personal opinion. I also feel a bit intimidated working out there, being a woman. There are lots of ''roided'' up guys there that seem to think we women don't know what we're doing there. Just joined this gym on Monday and I'm already happy with my purchase. They're running a $20 special online for the start of 2018. Monthly membership is $10/month for regular hours and $20/month for 24 hour access (I'm a morning exerciser so I don't need the 24). Being a food writer does not do wonders for your waist size so I'm glad I could an affordable and low-key gym. I've been a member of Crunch and other gyms, but I feel like the big name gyms just attract a bunch of people who stand around and hog the machines. NOT the case here. There are plenty of machines and a good amount of different types of weights and equipment. The staff is friendly. The other customers are all focused on their personal fitness and I like that. This review is long overdue. I'm going to sound like a paid advertisement but I cannot say enough good about this gym. The staff are engaged and friendly. The owners take great pride in knowing the members and keeping the gym in pristine condition. Rarely ever see a sign on equipment saying it's broken. Men's locker room is unbelievably clean with showers. It's a no frills gym in the sense that it's perfect for those who are into training without a social hour mentality. Most impressed with the members. A bunch of Meatheads but they know gym etiquette. I have never seen a weight not put back after use. This has been a good gym. There is a good selection of cable equipment, free weights, and cardio machines. They offer a military sign-up discount to wave the sign-up fee. With your membership, you get one free session with a personal trainer. It's always been clean, and all the weights and equipment are in good shape. When something does break, it gets fixed quick. Friendly service every time we go. Girls locker rooms and bathroom are together. They are always clean. I think the price is good for what I get. read more

Great facility and very clean. They are in the process of upgrading a few things and it starting to look good. Only wish I had was that they had some classes, that they would remove some of the tanning beds and put a sauna in it and they would open up space a little more for athletes to train. It's a good gym, but the employees are what is ruining it. Simple maintenance is not done, causing breakage, squeaky machines, rust, dust, and tears in leather padding. Lots of missing pins, partial grip cushions, missing bars (how do those disappear?), missing knobs on bench adjustment pins. This is simple prevention that would keep the gym operable and deter high costs of replacement. Additionally, the staff has a high turn over rate of uncaring, incompetent management and high school kids not empowered or lacking the backbone to correct members who are rude, lazy, or nasty. They huddle around the counter and nobody does routine walk-throughs to monitor activity, correct people who leave many plates on equipment or put it away themselves. There are many smaller members and members with injuries who cannot rerack the 8-10 plates some hero left on a smith machine or leg press. The design of the center as well as the rules hanging off ceilings and posted on mirrors are perfect. But the lack of enforcement and maintenance is killing this place. read more

This gym was a good set up until you try to cancel your membership. The front desk staff has this wonderful scheme where they tell you that you've cancelled your membership and tell you the date of your last payment. However, this is not actually what has happened. 3 months later you will still be getting billed. Miraculously they will have no record of you ever cancelling your membership and that if you do choose to cancel today you will be charged for an additional 2 months. This same situation has happened to me and another individual, but I doubt that we are the only two to experience this. I would definitely recommend getting everything in writing and you'll be fine. read more

Everything is good until you cancel This is my second membership with this gym. My first was about 3 years ago, I had a membership when I stayed with my brother for a short time. I cancelled that in store. Fast forward to Feb 2019 I go in the store to cancel my membership I am told I cant cancel in store that I should pay my owed balance so I can then email the cancellation department and they will handle it. Days go by and I get emails saying I owe money still so I pay my balance again and email the cancellation again. Time goes by and I email to make sure my membership is cancelled and they say its not because I have to pay two more months because they haven't counted the past 2 months that ive been fighting the customer service email as notice. I call in speak to a rep they have a "manager" call me She tells me that they will not be counting the last two months because I have no proof that I tried to cancel in Feb. When I told her what the rep instore told me then she replied "that's ashame you don't have proof that you spoke to someone". I begin to tell her that's crazy that a manager would tell a customer something like that. I tell her how bad the customer service is. She starts yelling saying I'm not special I will pay the money and hangs up on me. Today 5/6/2019 I finally get in contact with a manger after calling and leaving messages to get call back and request management or owner reach out to me and getting nothing. I finally get on the phone with the manager hes speaking like he doesn't have time for me, come to find out the lady that hung up on me told them that I was cursing a lot that's why she hung up. I didn't curse will I was on the phone with the women the whole time. But because of that the current person didn't want to hear anything I had to say and told me three years ago I cancelled in store so why would his associate tell me I couldn't. He called me a liar and refused to give me his name, the women that hung up on me and also refused to give me the companys business license number. Stating it wasn't important to the conversation. Overall the worst management problem resolution ive ever witnessed. They need to train their staff on policy because they all give different info. read more

Lost my card from my keychain and asked numerous times for another, was told to just check in at the desk. When I asked when my yearly fees would hit my account for my family +2 guests pass, I was told my package would not be auto renewed because it was no longer available. Last week, a nice hefty sum was auto drafted from my bank account. When I called to ask what the charge was for, I was told it was mistakenly taken from my account, my package was not renewable. The person gave me the number for ABC Fitness so I could call and ask them to have it refunded. The person at ABC Fitness said they couldn't refund it without permission from the manager or owner. I called Fitness for 10 the next day (Friday) and was told my account information and issue were printed out and were given to the manager. They would check with the manager and call me back with an expected timeframe for my refund. I received a phone call back, my refund would take 24 hours to process. Saturday came... No refund and the manager wasn't on site to answer my call. Sunday came... Still no manager.. Monday called again. They weren't sure why it wasn't refunded but would check with their manager and call back. No call back Monday. Tuesday, talked to the same person as he's the only one on duty. The refund was approved. He would have the owners call me back. Wednesday, no call from a manager. I called ABC Fitness (the billing company). They received a refund request on Wednesday. It will be 3-5 additional business days before they issue the refund. They also said I was charged for an additional month that shouldn't have been charged but they weren't authorized to credit my card back... They would follow up within 10 days. Thursday, no refund.... I hope you can see the lack of customer service, the total disregard for return of unauthorized charges, wrongful billing, and bad business practices. The staff at the counter are more interested in socializing than helping the customers. Asked for the personal training that was part of my package and was told several times someone would call. I received one phone call and was told they only do initial personal training between the hours of 8am-Noon. I do have a job... Bottom line, you get what you pay for...and you pay for services you'll never actually get. Run to a different gym. This one is NOT worthy of your patronage. They're dishonest and unhelpful. read more

Rude and unhelpful staff!!! The facility itself is okay for 10 bucks a month, but keep your expectations low. Tanning beds are always broken and good luck getting in after hours... The scanner at the after hours entrance is often broken so prepare to find yourself locked out often even though you are paying a premium for the "convenience". I've been working out here for 3 months and have only seen a janitor twice, so be sure to wipe the equipment before you use it... Not the cleanest gym. Also, prepare yourself for long waits to get a treadmill in the evenings. Good luck getting a squat rack (there's only 2) and good luck finding a barbell that is not bent. Above everything else, be prepared to deal with the rude and unprofessional staff. read more

I've been a member at this gym for the past two years and enjoyed it until recently when I attempted to cancel my membership due to moving out of the area. Please make sure you read their contract if you sign up for the monthly membership and not listen to what the employees tell you. My first year I paid the year in full with no issues, when I renewed I decided to pay monthly for the next year. What I didn't realize was that there is no expiration to the monthly membership. I called when I moved from the area to see about cancelling my membership and any fees that apply, the employee I spoke with told me there would be a $40 fee to cancel. I decided to wait till the end of my year since I still occasionally visit the area, only to find out that I would be charged for another month when my year had ended. I contacted the location and they told me that they could put in a cancellation, but could not refund my money and I would be charged an additional 2 months, because you have to give them a 60 day notice. They also told me that with the monthly membership, apparently you can cancel it at any time with no fees. Infuriated by this news, I asked to speak with a manager and was told "there is no manager on duty". I was then told that there is a customer service EMAIL that I can contact, but no phone number. After being a loyal member for 2 years, I would have hoped to have been treated as a valued customer, but instead, after emailing customer service I was not thanked by the company for being a member and had to email back and forth with whatt appeared to be robots with pre-generated responses. There was no apology for the mistake that their employee had made when I contacted about cancelling the first time and instead told me that their employees are properly trained and knowledgeable in regards to the cancellation process (false!). They even attempted to charge me for a 3rd additional month because they cannot calculate correctly. I had to confront them that they are not even following their own "strict policy" for telling me they are going to charge me even after 60 days notice. When I asked for a phone number to speak with a representative, they gave me the number to the gym location and told me to ask for the "manager on duty", what a joke this was. I am a full time student away at college and as much as I liked this gym, I will not return after the poor customer service that I received. This business cares more about petty money than having a lifetime customer, which is very unfortunate. read more
