I've been a member of this gym for about 2 yrs now. It's been a decent gym, and could improve for the same reasons others have mentioned. My wife and I had to cancel our memberships recently, and expected it to be a pain. But Claire (a young lady who works up front) made it fast and easy! It's not all bad, there's some good mixed in... I've been a member here for a little while now. There could be several improvements. There is only 1 of the major machines that most people use, e.g. leg press, abductors/adductors machines. Only one dead lift area, though you can make do with a couple of other racks. 3 smith machines, which is nice. Plenty of dumbbells, plenty of cables. There is a decline bench which is nice because some places do not have one. There are several cardio machines that are rusted and old. One upright bike machine is about to break off at the handle bars. The staff has been told several times and the response is,"I'll make a note". Most of the dumbbells handles are rusted. Weights are all over the place and not put back, I know that this is not so mush a staff issue and more a gym goer etiquette issue. There is nowhere for any HIIT workouts. There is there is a HIIT room that is closed off and not usable as well as an entire room that was for Pilates at one point but has been locked and unused for at least a year. There is a giant room full of Bikes for classes that maybe 3 people use at one time. There is a small area that is roped off that is used for private training and is used sometimes by others for HIIT workouts but it isn't big enough for more than a couple at a time. The staff is great. No complaints there... the cleaning could be better. The Men's bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers are ok. That appears to be cleaned regularly. The women's locker room is needs an upgrade. There's a wall without a mirror because it looked like it broke so they just tore it down and left it stripped. Some of the lockers don't have doors. The workout area on the other hand could be better. By the end of the day there are no wipes available. The mats and a lot of the area for stretching is hardly cleaned or not cleaned well. I've looked at the same dirty map spot for almost 4 months now. I've seen cleaning crew over there but it's half hearted. The entire place could use a deep clean. The pool area is nice and is used regularly as well as the basketball court, and the dance class room. The child care area seems to be used regularly also but I can't attest to that. Overall: you can get rid of half the bikes in the spin class room and move some of the less used cardio machines in there. Open up the HIIT area and allow people to use at their own risk. We sign waivers for a reason... utilize the large area of the Pilates room if it's going to be closed instead of a storage space. That can be where your bands, or turf for sled pushes or sprint area could be. Hire more cleaning staff or have one come out once a month over night and do a deep clean, and restock the self cleaning supplies. That or continue to do what you're doing and loose business to the other gyms locally. read more

This gym is all right. It provides bare-bones the kinds of things that you would expect from a gym. There's a room full of treadmill machines. A weight lifting area. There's a workout space to meet with personal trainers. There's a basketball court. They do have a pool. They have a kids club where you can leave your children to play. They offer swim classes for kids and have a separate changing area for kids, which is great. This gym lacks a hot tub and sauna. They offer classes, but I've never found classes that line up well with my schedule here. The biggest negative to me is the staff. Most of them are not rude, just simply indifferent. I was horrified to see on my last visit, a staff member covered in tattoos discreetly grabbing puffs from his vape inside the building. Wow! So much for health and fitness! read more

Have been going here for a while now. They recently made management changes and it has definitely improved. They still have several issues that they just won't address. Like the leaking roof. Whenever it rains they put buckets all over the place to catch the water. This issue has been ongoing for over 6 months. I've reported it over and over but they won't fix it. I emailed their corporate office several times asking to speak with the area manager but they won't respond. Also, all the kids that play basketball trash the locker room. They leave their water bottles, paper towels, etc. everywhere. They spit gum in the urinals and throw paper towels in them as well causing them to flood. The poor kid that tries to keep the locker room clean has his work cut out for him. Overall, it's a decent gym, but if a nice, newer gym opens up close by, this place will lose a ton of members fast. read more

I went to get member ID after enrolling and paying online. The two people at the desk had no idea how to help me. The guy went to find the salesperson to help me. She wasn't very helpful and I had to ask her to activate my membership. It was like pulling teeth to get help. When I asked where the classes would be, she pointed and said in the back corner. She never offered to show me. When I went to look at the showers and pool I was disappointed. There was a dirty, used razor on the floor outside a shower. There is not a handicapped shower with a bench. The pool looks cloudy. I think it might be that the paint has peeled off the bottom of the pool, but it is unattractive. read more

The only reason I tolerated this gym was because Lou Ramos (trainer) was phenomenal. I looked forward to his classes every day. He was the reason I overlooked the garbage on the floor in the locker room, the overflowing garbage cans both inside and out and the complete lack of give a crap by the front desk people. It was a serious mistake to let Lou go. You also may want to look in to Jovan and his training habits. It's odd how he always has his female clients train with him alone in the HIIT room, but never his male clients. read more

Staff is extremely avoidant and rude, went in there to test a new gym because I wanted a different setting for my workouts. Guy at the desk was very passive aggressive, tour guide took forever to come out ( never came out) when I asked if I could go ahead and tour/ out on my own he avoided the question and told me to wait for a manager. I understand if they're busy or understaffed but there were three employees sitting on TOP of the counter. I've lived all across the US and while this is not my favourite gym I've ever had a membership for, it isn't bad. I do wish that the free weight area were slightly bigger though I'm not sure how this would be possible given the layout. Having only 2 flat benches for a gym that gets so many guests is absolutely wild to me. It would also be nice if there were a couple more squat racks. The variety of dumbbells is very nice and there are multiples of pretty much every weight. I enjoy the fact that there are multiple assisted pull-up/dip machines. A nice addition would also be a few decline ab benches. I've not really noticed any at the gym and I love using these for russian twists, etc... I'm not sure if I've overlooked these or not, but I don't recall seeing any. There is a decline bench press - but I feel selfish using that to do ab work when it's meant for chest exercises. My biggest complaint isn't even with the gym itself, however. It's with the patrons. I've noticed very few guests actually wipe down the equipment after using it. That's gross and unsanitary. I'm not sure why the humans here don't believe in wiping down the equipment/weights after using them. There are also several elderly people who refuse to wear headphones and constantly blare their opinion journalism. I shouldn't know your political affiliation just from sharing a gym-space with you. The front desk staff are always welcoming and I do notice the staff moving throughout the gym cleaning regularly. However, as posted throughout the gym, patrons should still be wiping down equipment after use. read more

All the employees are super friendly and eager to help if you have any questions, the gym is fairly large so there's enough room for you and everyone else, and the locker rooms are really nice. I've been coming here for awhile now and have had several encounters with personal trainer Lou in front of my kids where he was very unprofessional. Multiple times I've been told to leave the basketball court when there was nothing on the scheduled classes for him to run a group class. Another time i was told to leave the basketball court at 8:45 when the class time was posted (only on a piece of paper on the door) to start at 9:10. Lou was very unproffessional about it and should not be a trainer at all with his attitude towards members!!!! I'm know I'm not the only member that has been treated this way. Meh. Pretty mid. Only two flat benches and two non-machine squat racks. Immensely disappointed by that. Everything else is not bad. Big and spacious enough and plenty of other equipment. For my personal goals though those two non-machine squat racks and flat bench racks are a super disappointment. Kind of boggles the mind they don't add more. read more

Love all the trainers and workouts, however the group fitness room has been without a wall mirror for months, the floor is pretty dirty, and there is a fan that I don't think has ever worked. We pay monthly dues, it would be nice if these things were taken care of and in a timely manner. read more

Since the Covid re-open, the club is filthy ALL the time. Front desk sit at the front and chit chat out of their mask to each other without any welcoming ability, management rarely wear mask. Personal training have mask close, but not on. There was piss in the Men's room floor for the past week. The younger crowd treat the gym like a middle school field house with no respect for others and playing grab ass (someone is going to get hurt). This club needs to be closed down again before someone catches COVID-19 out of here. Maybe, if they abide by the fact that this is a business and treat paying customers with the respect and simple humanity, they should open back up. I will not return to this club as it is not the only gym in town and a severe health risk. read more

Love this gym. Started coming here while the Rowlett gym was being redone. I won't go back, if possible. This gym is very, very clean. Clean is very important to a gym. The pool, locker room and restroom are clean, as is the workout area. There are fans in the ceiling and blowers blowing cold air all over the work out area. So much cooler than the Rowlett or Garland gyms. All the cardio equipment has T.V.'s with plugins for your earbuds. You get to pick your own station. All the staff are very friendly and helpful They don't do the swim lessons here ,thank god, so you don't have to wait for lessons to be over to swim. read more

The facility was amazing however the service I received from Jacob one of the managers came across as target racism. I came to visit on a Guest pass. However since I was out of state he made us pay $15 even though it doesn't say that on the website. He profiled us immediately and try to make us give a five star review so I could come for the rest the week like the website indicated. I will be calling corporate about this issue as well read more

I really love this gym. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. My two young daughters come with me most of the time and go to Kids Klub; the staff always waves and says hi when they come in and most know them by name. They both love it! I'm so happy with how everything is run. I go 3-4x a week and it's always spotless, smells clean, and I've never seen equipment not be in working order. I wish I could give this place no stars. I called a few days ago about a charge on my account. The girl who answered the phone got an attitude and was not even able to answer my questions. She said she would have the manager call me and no one ever did. I called two other times to have the operation manager call and still nothing. Today I called and I was informed they had already cancelled my membership. No one ever called me to ask why I wanted to cancel, no one tried to fix it or give me back my money that was taken. I started coming here to work out with a friend over the break. Wasn't sure if I wanted to join this location or not originally, however as I continued to come I grew to enjoy this gym. Jacob, the person who assisted me, was very helpful. He provided me an opportunity to workout at LA for two weeks. This facility is very nice, well kept, and spacious. There are a lot of free weight equipment as well as machines; I was surprised with all the room. Even when it is busy, the wait for a rack or machine is not long (if you have to wait at all). There were a few other amenities, such as a pool, basketball court, cycling studio, and an open studio, though I did not use these. Overall great experience! read more

My husband and I work out at this LA Fitness because it's super close to our home. I really do enjoy coming here, but there are a few things that I have noticed. The main thing right now is cleanliness....when the place first opened it was spotless, there were people cleaning the floor, machines, etc. It's gotten to the point that I'm getting a little grossed out when I go on the elliptical or use the weight machines; there is dried sweat, old paper towels and body funk all over this stuff. Is it that hard to have someone come through on non-busy times and do a little upkeep? The floor could use a good mopping as well. The front desk staff has gotten worse as well. Almost every time we come in they do not greet us at all, just put the sensor out for us to scan our phones. We can't even get them to crack a smile! I notice a lot of them just sit at the desk on their cell phones too. I understand that it must get boring up there but c'mon. Overall we will still use the gym, but it could definitely use a little TLC. read more

Sales guy that signed me up totally lied to me about me being able to use my guest membership for my wife, regardless whether myself of my son goes to the gym. Now they are telling me they are sorry it was misrepresented, but too bad for me. I have to have her join or only come with my son. The gym is nice, but you cant trust what sales folks say. I feel bad for the staff of this location. They are easily some of the friendliest people I have met and make my experience pleasant every visit. It is unfortunate that when people don't get there way that bash a place to try and get something free since they "pay too much" for their membership. What's the avg..$30/mo or less?? -_- sooo expensive.. This is a wonderful location. I would give the gym and it's staff 6 stars if possible. ANYONE who has been to an older LA Fitness location couldn't possibly have anything bad to say about the cleanliness/modern design of this gym. There's NO carpet anywhere, thank god! That has always been the most disgusting part of my previous LA Fitness experiences. There are plenty of machines, racks, benches etc! It's NEVER so busy that you can't find somewhere to work. If you have solid and serious intention to work, you'll love this gym. If you want to chit-chat with staff, watch reality TV or check your social media while you slowly walk on your treadmill... I can't speak for you. Only reason it's 4 stars is because it lacks adjustable arm cable machines which I LOVE. I love this gym! Get in and get out, people! read more

This LA Fitness is a bit weird for me since I'm so used to the larger gyms that have the racquetball rooms and plethora of equipment. This one wastes so much of the floor space on cardio machines and leave out extremely popular weight training machines which is bothersome when it's busy. Luckily, it's so new that it doesn't get THAT busy after the rush. It's really clean, this location doesn't have the carpet that so many other locations have, which is great since it doesn't smell sweaty and dingy. The basketball court is also really nice if you're into that. I haven't been into the locker rooms yet so I can't comment on that. Machine wise, they always have one of each machine, but seriously.. 2 squat racks and 1 leg press? The spin room is massive though, with stadium seating. Haven't taken a spin class there but I'll maybe give it a try sometime later down the line. read more
