The staff at the door was great but once at the bar, the staff was indifferent and distant. One gentleman, who I believe was named Ahmed was impatient and hostile and I believe homophobic. He informed us we'd need to clear the bar and move elsewhere, for reasons he couldn't explain quite clearly. We spent a lot of money and still tipped decently although he didn't deserve it. Quiet room, nice and clean. Have room service. Been there one night in 2026 and in 2025. Ideal for business travelers. If needed, they will recommend parking garage around corner. They have a valet for your luggage. In room, bathrooms in good condition & no problems as far as hot water. Downstairs restaurant is acceptable for basic dinner and breakfast; price is very reasonable. Has big bar, not really crowded. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend staying there. Also, it is near a wide variety (upscale and downscale) of eating establishments. Security seems very good. read more

We knew we were in good hands after she emailed me soon after my inquiry via the hotel's general mailbox congratulating us on our engagement and offering information about group rates. She went above and beyond to assist us and my guests with reservations, even getting on the phone with people to assist them with arrangements. We stayed at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan location and every person we encountered from the front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping were so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and if we needed anything (such as extra towels, coffee, etc.) we got it immediately. We were very pleased. This was hands down one of the BEST stays we've ever had anywhere -- mostly because of the people working at this hotel, but truly, everything was perfect. Overall: 1. Our room was great (we upgraded to a suite), everything was clean and we had a ton of space. We wanted a street view, so we did have noise, but it was actually part of what made it fun. I love the atmosphere of NY, and the noise is part of the experience in my opinion. It wasn't so noisy that you can't sleep - it's just kind of a nice hum outside. 2. Everyone was SO accommodating. The desk staff, cleaning staff, bartenders... literally everyone. Not sure if you've ever been to a hotel where the staff is actively trying to NOT help you, but I have, and this was the total opposite. I felt SO taken care of. 3. The location is PERFECT. It was so easy to walk to Central Park, 5th Ave, subway stations, and great bars and restaurants. We also rented a Ferrari and felt comfortable parking it outside and in their recommended garage. If you expect to have heat included with your $800 suite in 28 degree temperatures, think again! The heat was out and the staff was extremely nonchalant about it. They did not give me the heads up when I checked in and kept saying that it would be fixed quickly. When I asked before returning to the hotel after a night out if it was fixed I was told "probably, because there have been less complaints". It was never fixed during my stay. I had to put a hot hands warmer in each of my socks to fall asleep. Luckily we were just there one night. They did not ask how the stay was or offer any compensation for the issue. My husband and I made a reservation at the Fitzpatrick Hotel in NYC, Lexington Ave. A very convenient location, an easy walk to the subway and easy access to Central Park. I made a mistake in my online reservation, so ASAP I called the Hotel and I was able to talk to a person at Reservations. He fixed the problem and sent me an updated email right away! Once we arrived at the hotel we were received by a friendly, sociable person at the front desk who told us that we were being upgraded. We didn't expect this at all. The suite was perfectly cleaned, maintained and the bed very comfortable. We loved the room, quiet and tranquil, despite the construction across the street. All the staff are very attentive and friendly. At dinner we had a great draft Guinness served with the best tasty 'head". Their restaurant has delicious food. They have great breakfasts early by 7 AM, if you have to run out. Kudos to Brianna and Bernard for their great job!! read more

I did not try the restaurant, but it looked inviting . And u can have it sent up to the room . Staff all wonderful . Many fabulous restaurants so close by . Almost all have parklets to offer outdoor seating . NYC , well It was not exactly like usual . Almost everyone seemed on high alert . Sadly . But Many inside places do not require mask , unless u are unvaccinated, so Calif , so used to wearing a mask inside , but Then I worried Might be thought as unvaccinated! I was very pleased with my recent stay of three nights. I did NOT have a view - which meant that I also had no street noise and slept like a baby. By my midwestern standards, the room was small, but it was certainly adequate for my needs. It was clean, as was the bathroom. (The floor of the bathroom is icy as it is tiled with stone, not ceramic, so put a towel down.) The bed was soft, but not saggy. I had a small fridge and coffee maker - the later being the deal breaker for me, as I MUST have that first cup of coffee ASAP. The staff were able to get my room opened early, which was very kind of them as my flight had been an early one. They also ordered me a ride back to Newark airport. Two complaints - one small, one big. Small - The desk lamp did not work. Big - I could only get cold air out of the heat/cool system. It was NOT warm the first two nights. Fortunately, I could lay the thick robe over the bed for an extra layer. Lastly, the restaurant was pretty darned good, but I'll review that separately. read more

We have stayed at the Fitzpatrick several times since Jan 2024. We love this hotel and while we often stay in Marriotts, for the value and location the Fitzpatrick is our favorite in NYC. The portfolio of rooms, basic (which are delightful), to the larger rooms, which are our preference, we are happy with the rooms. The staff are attentive, very attentive and capable. The hotel has the feel/charm of a small boutique hotel, with consistent staff members at front desk, housekeeping, bar and restaurant. All staff are generous and accommodating. read more

Went here for a drink yesterday. We fancied martinis and the hotel has good quality vodka so we ordered those. The olive martini was decent but not dirty as requested. The martini with a twist was good. The bar was nice enough but probably it's not a destination if you're not already in the area or staying at the hotel. The bar tender was lovely though! read more

Wondered upon the small bar/restaurant for the hotel on a leisurely Sunday by chance. Have to give a good rating for their breakfast/sort of brunch. AMBIANCE - walked into the door next to the hotel entrance. The layout had the hotel bar in the back. There were cocktail tables around (nice size) about a dozen for a happy hour after work scene but also good for breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere was very elegant. ENTRANCE - while no official host station, a hotel hospitality professional came within 30 seconds. MENU - while not extensive by any stretch of the imagination it had enough for breakfast/brunch. All a la carte but even so enough to choose from. SERVICE - this is a strong high point. The waiting staff, the bus service, and shared coverage of tables by other waiters and manager (who btw was in the area even on a Sunday) guaranteed a most spectacular experience CUISINE - I know it's only breakfast food but place is fancy enough to push the envelope on adjectives. I had a great light American breakfast the eggs were perfectly prepared and while a simple order can be served too over cooked or fried in too much oil etc. these were great. The bacon which can typically raise your cholesterol by 100+ points was not the case very lean. Wheat toast was great as well. PRICE - it's a hotel so don't expect a bargain. In our case breakfast for 2 with tax and a good tip came to $58 so definitely a high $$$ or low $$$$ but the service made it well worth it for me. Lol read more

We stayed in mid October and the weather was nice fall weather however our room was FREEZING! We asked at the front about why the heat in our room wasn't working and we were told the lobby (which was a nice temp) was on a separate heating system than the rooms and they don't turn on the room heat until Nov. They did bring us an extra blanket which wasn't very thick and we were still pretty cold (and we are from Wisconsin - so not like we aren't used to a little cold) after walking around on chilly / raining NY days it's NOT fun to come back to a cold room! We literally ran our hair dryer in our room for 20- 30 mins before bed each night to try and heat our room up so we could fall asleep! The only other negative for us was there is nowhere to hang bathroom towels, so saving them to use again in pretty much impossible unless you want a cold damp towel the next day for your shower and then go to a cold room. So we opted for fresh towels everyday. The bed was saggy so my husband and I were both constantly falling to the middle & pillows were not that comfortable! The pluses for us was the staff was kind, the room and bathroom were pretty big and felt clean and they had umbrella for us to use on rainy days. The location is also nice! read more

The physical property is beautifully maintained, and the beds are comfortable. But this hotel really falls down on the little details -- and as frequent travelers know, the little details mean a lot. First, it took forever to check in -- computer problems, then more computer problems, then the system crashed, then it was fixed, then there was a problem cutting the room keys, blah, blah, blah. Just what a tired traveler doesn't need when all he wants is to get to his room. When I finally did get to my room, it smelled very strongly of bleach. In one sense, this was good, because it suggested that the room had been thoroughly cleaned. But the reek of bleach was so strong that I had to open the door and the windows for several hours to air it out. The phone in the room was dead. It was never clear to me if the hotel offers room service, but if it does, the phone would have been useless. My room cost over $400. At that price, is it too much to ask for cold drinks in the room -- or, at the very least, a bottle of water? There was none. The Irish breakfast was terrible. The black sausage and the white sausage were both very dry. I ordered soft-boiled eggs, but they were over cooked, so the yolks were clay-like in consistency, and completely tasteless. I used to stay at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central for business, and would enjoy the free copies of the Irish Times -- and many other newspapers -- while drinking tea in the lobby or eating breakfast. Sure, not everyone reads newspapers these days, but it was a nice little bit of extra charm that made that hotel memorable. But this version of the Fitzpatrick has no newspapers -- when you charge "only" $400 a night, I guess you have to cut corners wherever you can. I'm giving this hotel three stars because I got a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed, the front desk staff was reasonably friendly, and the waiter at breakfast was hard-working and efficient. But the hotel's lack of attention to little details made this overall a disappointing experience. read more

I happened on this great hotel by total accident and consider myself fortunate! Cancelled flights and airport chaos left me in a terrible mood but needing a last minute place to stay. I got super lucky based on the same weather and flight issues others were having getting into the City. A late cancellation provided me a reservation at The Fitzpatrick Manhattan. My experience at this hotel from check in at 10:30pm, to Bryan at the bar, room service, and Jale taking care of my bags and getting me transportation back to the airport, was above an beyond exceptional. The room was comfortable, charming, and clean. Definitely turned my perspective around on my predicament. Thank you Staff of the Fitzpatrick- from the lost lady from Oklahoma. I just stayed a few nights here, but it's a very terrible experience. This hotel is not a three-star hotel at all. Especially the front desk, the one by the window was fine, and the other lady was so annoying and super hateful. When I checked in this Monday evening, her attitude was extremely aggressive. There was no smile on her face. She spoke so fast that I asked her to say it again, and she shouted in a loud voice. It's so ncredibly rude. Never come again! read more

I stayed at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel from 2/29 - 3/2. I was there because I needed to have a surgical procedure on 3/1 and was traveling from Boston to do so. I had been excited about staying at this boutique hotel after having had lunch there a few months earlier. That excitement quickly waned. The night before my surgery, we had to move rooms due to no hot water. Another thing to note - the bathrooms don't even have a place to hang your towels. The shower heads are up on the ceiling and rather small. The next morning, I had to wake up quite early as my surgery was the first of the day. I wanted to take a quick shower as I did not know when I would next be able to have a decent wash up. Again - no hot water. We called down to the desk and were told to run the water in the tap for 20 minutes in order for the hot water in the shower to turn on. This is ridiculous. We were told that this was due to the age of the hotel and the steam needed to be pulled for hot water. I have stayed in multiple hotels in NY - the Marriott, the Doubletree, the Waldorf Astoria - and never had this issue. I own an older home (built in 1850) and still get hot water. The next morning, we ordered room service. They forgot the coffee, then forgot the milk, forgot an extra plate. They didn't even have a table to bring up so that we could have a place to eat... when we checked out, we spoke to the manager who cut us off while we were speaking to defend himself. While they did credit one night, which I am grateful for, I did not appreciate the attitude of the front desk manager. You should be able to listen to constructive criticism and think about ways to improve the experience for all of your guests. read more

Comfortable and quiet hotel with plenty of amenities and reasonable rates. We got a one-bedroom suite for my parents here recently and it met with expectations. Generously sized and comfortable with some unexpected extras such as an electric dry-rack in the living room. The fold-out couch I slept on was comfortable enough. The room service menu was missing for some reason but once we got a hold of it, the food was decent. The hotel caters to many Irish travelers and serves as a kind of cultural halfway house for visitors from the Emerald Isle. read more

On the surface this looks like an upscale-ish boutique hotel. As they say, beauty is only skin deep. My room had a body oder (b.o.) like stench, which they blamed on the recent bad air quality in NYC. They showed zero interest to come and inspect it. When I complained again, the one nice front desk person finally offered to clean the carpets or switch our room. When we returned to the room, we could tell the carpet was cleaned but some of the "b.o." smell remained. The bathtub was partially clogged and did not drain properly. The "cherry" on the top was the racial profiling that we experienced. As we entered behind two fair skinned gentlemen, we dark skins were unceremoniously stopped and asked if we could be helped by a fair skinned staff person. Her colleague, who recognized us, quickly told her we were guests at the hotel. Overall, it was a not-so-pleasant and exhausting stay. I'm giving them three stars, because we had a place to lay our heads (1*), a place to bathe (1*), and a pleasant experience with that one front desk person with the brogue (1*). read more

As honest as I can be. Could not beat the price. Hospitality of the staff was fantastic. The Irish Breakfast makes up for any shortcomings which are endless. Beds were soso, I thought I booked a king though the travel site but it was really just a delux room with a queen. Little trickery going on there. Marriott beds are the best. So we didn't sleep well in comparison. The finishes in the room and hotel/restraunt were dated and worn, curling iron burn on the carpet in room. Bathroom was showing it's age. Poor craftsmen worked on the tile last. The robes were shrunk but got the job done. Generally this isn't supposed to be the Ritz or the Hay Adams or Trump International. Lots of corners cut and well we still enjoyed our stay none the less. I own a vacation rental so I realize how important feedback is. It's most definitely time for a refresh but we would stay again if simply for the hospitality and Irish Breakfast. Tip to chef: Perhaps Skip the gilled tomato and go for Brown Beans and offer Chefs Brown Sauce. read more

I stayed here because I had a family member in a Manhattan hospital. The time of year was the fall but because of global warming it was 82° in October and the policy of the hotel is to turn the heat on on a certain date there was no way to turn it off. I could not sleep in the room, I booked a room through one of these booking hotel booking services that discounts the price and I learned how that works the hard way all hotels have rooms that have been damaged or somehow undesirable so to make up the losses they offer them to be services to offer and super cheap prices. My room had a burn mark in the carpet from someone dropping an iron on it. It had stains on the bathroom floor that looks like it came from Homeless inhabitants during the pandemic stains in the tiles none of the windows and screens or could be opened and remain open to let cool air in so I could try to get some sleep. When I complain to the management they told me there was nothing they could do, so that night I returned to my neighborhood and slept at home and returned to Manhattan the following day to pick up my relative. The food in the restaurant was tasty, but I cannot recommend staying in the hotel room in this old refurbished hotel not when there is so much competition from surrounding hotels that are in better shape. Let the buyer beware. read more

The staff are very friendly, attentive and efficient. However, the actual room itself was a disappointment. The toilets use the old school flap so it will slowly leak and keep refilling unless you flush it just right. The water pipes are horrible, they rattle and stutter. The hot water is not consistent in the shower. There are random holes where things used to be attached to the bathroom wall. They never bothered to fill them in properly. It has come to my attention that Hotel management is holding a very rare and highly valuable vintage "Playboy" Umbrella, I carried across the country and placed in their care with promise it would be delivered to Ryan Seacrest as my Thank you gift for RSE paying for my suite at this hotel. I handed management this object with a note I wrote in the lobby of the hotel in front of another of the hotel's employee's, with instruction's for management to deliver the gift to ABC studio's in NY where Live with Kelly and Ryan is broadcast. I'm quite disappointed he or anyone thought this would go unnoticed, nor unreported to the public. Very unfortunate that he or anyone would honestly believe they would get away with this behavior. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here, now knowing what a frightfully dishonest hotel staff it employs. Extremely disheartening and more than disappointing. read more

Just checked in here today for New Years. Cute little Irish hotel with nice art. The rooms are pretty nice. Upon walking in the room I decided to plug my phone in, no plugs worked. I thought that's fine and asked to have someone fix it. While I'm waiting for someone to fix it I try to use the restroom. The lights won't turn on and the toilet water is brown. Very off-putting. I then try to wash my hands and dark brown water covers my hands. For over $400 dollars a night you would expect something a little nicer. read more

Have just had another fabulous stay at this hotel. They were once again able to accommodate my early checkin. Ciara provided a seamless checkin experience and I was able to get a quick much needed hours rest before heading out for the day. The room was spacious and clean and there was the added special touch of some fresh fruit in the room on arrival. Marima (sorry for spelling) was always helpful with my questions. I had great experiences in the restaurant for breakfast. The staff made me feel at home especially Meghan and Brian. As always, the kind and soft-spoken Lama in the bar was so lovely and remembered me and asked after my family. I will definitely stay again and recommend this to travelers who like to feel at home away from home! read more

Perfect hotel. It's recently renovated and everything is like brand new. Did not try the restaurant. Stayed in a two room suite. It was like the Four Seasons, every detail was excellent. Near Central Park, near 5th Avenue, near multiple subway lines coming together in one station. Importantly! --- away from Times Square. Nice calm area. No amenities, except the restaurant, but who cares. So nice to escape to the room after a day touring the city. read more

This hotel is horrible. Besides unstable shower water and slow elevators, they have a really bad attitude and service. The lady at the front desk has absolutely no smile on her face and the room service broke into the room without knocking. The room service even lied about us having a dog in the room and threaten us to leave. We have the right to suspect that they are racist. read more
