Fun place to come and look around. I found some inexpensive watercolor supplies that are great for practice

Not a total loss since I was able to browse, and grab toiletries, but still disappointing. The store layout was pretty confusing--grocery items near body sprays and baby products next to men's items didn't make much sense. The design could definitely use some rethinking or maybe a little AI help

The redesign was not needed IMO, but it does feel more open which is nice so you don't feel cramped walking around others. There's usually some good deals if you are patient. On one of my visits earlier in the year I found a newer modem for $60 that was marked down from $150. Amazon had for $160. On my most recent visit, Pillowfort brand items were 25% off. They make really cute decorations for kids' rooms. They also have a line of popular weighted stuffed animals (vary from 2-3lb). Full disclosure, our house has at least 8 different Pillowfort weighted animals sitting around. The kids and our cat loves them...and I enjoy the feeling of them on my legs or chest when relaxing. The grocery area has many of the items you will find at other supermarkets but you can find discounted chicken breasts and butcher items here within a few days of their pull date. If you get the Target card, you get 5% back on all of your Target purchases as well as help Target donate money to schools and charities.

San Tan Village - Rainy day shopping

    San Tan Village

San Tan Village The first thing anyone would…read morenotice about San Tan Village is that it's all outdoors. An easy way to look at the villages layout would be like picturing 5 outdoor strip malls that got put together in a "village" form. San Tan Village looks a lot like it came straight out of Europe with the way its decorated and set up. It has cobble stone streets, a few grand fountains, old fashioned clocks, and trees all over the place. All this takes the shoppers experience back to the original source of shopping. With all the décor, the village seems like it holds a lot of class to its name, on top of all the stores it has. It gives the American shopper the feeling of- "I'm cool, I'm in pretend London right now", which holds the possibility of them wanting to spend a lot more money. Even though the village is outside don't let the elements scare you off. they have all their sidewalks shaded, with misters above that give the shade the extra few cooler degrees. San Tan Village was recently built a few years back. However I still consider it brand new, compared to any other mall in Arizona. Since the village is new it is really nice and clean. You can tell that the village staff does a really good job at maintaining it, and keeping it from getting run down, and keeping its presentable status. Since the mall is nice this will bring in more customers. One thing I noticed when I was observing the mall, was there was a lot of diversity there. Usually when you think of "mall" you think of "fast times at ridgemont high mall", with nothing but teenagers there. That's not the case for the village. There are people of all ages going there to have fun. I noticed a lot of parents with their kids, a lot of teenagers, and a lot of middle schoolers whose parents dropped them off. Since there is a lot of underage kids there, that means their parents feel it is safe enough for them to walk around without parental supervision. The kids also know it is a really nice place and they have to behave themselves while they're in there. I also think it is a very family orientated place as well. There are Candy stores, restaurants, and they even have a jungle gym for the kids to play on. It's a place where everyone in the family can go to have fun. This mall truly stands out of all the other malls in Arizona. San Tan Village has a plentiful amount of stores to choose from as well. It seems like they have three of every type of store there. Whether it be a Jewelry store, clothing store, sports store, or even a restaurant, you have lots to choose from. One store that is pretty popular is the "Buckle". I really like the Buckle because the employees there work off of commission, so they have to sell a quota of clothes and will be very willing and persistent helping you pick out what you need. Its clothes are a little expensive but they are high class modern mixed. Another store that is similar to the Buckle, is called "American Eagle". American Eagle isn't as upscale as the Buckle, but it certainly isn't that far behind. The service at American Eagle is really good, and they have a lot of products for you to choose from. Another clothing store San Tan village has is called "Aeropostal". Aeropostal isn't as nice as the other two clothing stores, but it isn't bad. It is more for middle school, high school kids. Since the village has multiple stores to choose from, if one store doesn't have what you're looking for another might. The village holds a few restaurants on it, and if it doesn't have the one you were looking for, there are a few close by. That is probably one of the best things about the village, its location. Its located right off of the freeway, so there are a lot of other shopping centers and restaurants around the village. Shoppers could realistically go to the village to get something and know they won't have to drive very far to another close by store to get what they were looking for. Overall the village is a really nice establishment, and I know I personally will continue to be a loyal customer to them. That is at least till it gets run down, or shuts down, which probably won't happen any time soon.

There are a lot of collectible and toy stores, including a Mini so. If you know somebody who loves anime and Funko pops, you'll definitely find a gift here. There is an Ulta here, but it is a very small kind of weird Alta. The perfume section is very small. This would not be my first choice to go to Ulta. The food court has some good choices with a Sarko Japan, Wetzel's Pretzels, and Sbarro, but we noticed some of the food places are gone, too, like Charlie's Steakery. I didn't notice whether the carousel was running while we were there. This is a relatively small mall and we were able to walk from one end to the other on bottom and top floors. If you like sporting goods, the Dick's sporting goods outlet is here. Macy's has closed, sadly, but they're still at Dillard's and JCPenney here. It has some of the standard mall stores like Hot Topic, Bath & Body Works, Torrid, Buckle, and Charlotte Russe. The line for Santa was quite long. There were children dressed up and families with matching pajamas. I was glad to see Santa getting so much business, especially because the photos are so expensive. It was a little sad, though, because even though it's the weekend before christmas, there was absolutely no Christmas music to make you feel the holiday spirit, or the shopping spirit. I couldn't help but feel a little sad because malls are a part of my growing up. Now it seems as though most malls are on their way out, and superstition is definitely among them. I hope it's around for a long while yet, but I'm guessing it's years or limited.

Atmosphere - Some areas may have a smell. Maybe some of the odor is from the produce. No music playing or at least it is hidden behind the beeps and other ambient noise. Service - Saw a few employees, mostly in the produce section restocking. The service here was quick. Order and pay at the front registers. Self service available. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures. No covered or shaded parking. Could do with some trees or parking covers in the summer. Parking lot needs to be resurfaced. Really hard to push the shopping cart across the uneven parking lot. Unique - Did not see anything unique. Seemed mostly organized when I visited.
