My husband and I were able to stop by after having dinner in the Food Hall. Because this was later in the day there were only a few options left. I got "The Purist," "Mini Purist," and "Mini Milk Chocolate Sprinkles." I loved "The Purist." It was flaky and buttery and not too sweet. The chocolate sprinkles donut was also delicious but I just liked the other more. This location is much smaller than the other ones from what I've researched. But, it still has a really cute and colorful feel to the inside. This is on the second floor of the area. The person helping us was very cheery, even for later in the evening. We paid $17 for 3 donuts which is crazy to me. The 100 layer donut with bacon on top was good the strawberry shortcake 100 layer donut was too much for me. Too sweet. It was nice to try but the donuts aren't as good as they are hyped up to be. The people working here though were super friendly and helpful. While looking for a snack at the Assembly Food Hall, we stumbled upon this lovely little gem, above the courtyard and away from the hustle and bustle of the other restaurants. The shop was located on the 2nd floor near the food court. There is an escalator that take you directly to the shop near Ariat store. I was surpise to find that not many people were in line when we got there. The staff greeted us promply and gave us a brief description of what first timers should choose. I'm glad that we had an assortment of her suggestion as well as our own pick. I remembered the Lemon cake donut was everyone favorite, which I highly recommend. "Rolled in cinnamon sugar, topped with a spiced apple glaze, topped with a dark cinnamon caramel and sprinkled with coarse salt." Each layer was as crispy, moistened and flavourful as the last. I stayed in Tennessee for four days and ended up getting this specific doughnut each time. So good and so worth a visit. Oh my gosh, this would be the most decadent and pleasurable way to get diabetes! I was in town for work, and a friend of mine from my hometown knew I was going to be in Nashville. He insisted I hit the Five Daughters Bakery for a donut! I'm so glad I did! The place is super cute, and it's the perfect building for the business they have. The inside is girly-bakery quaint and has a nice flow, and while it was almost empty when I was there, I can imagine it can be jam-packed on a morning or on a Saturday and that's why they have no tables inside. You have to eat outside. Five Daughters Donuts make Stan's Donuts in Chicago look like Dunkin' Donuts. The quality of these donuts, the freshness, the fluffiness, and flavor were all to die for. And the prices, while worth it, will kill you before the diabetes does! I had a cup of coffee and it was decent albeit nothing special, but it washed down the five million grams of saturated fat and sugar. I decided to try several items including the Strawberry Lemon Shortcake and Tiramisu. The first doughnut was filled with strawberry preserves and was my favorite of the two. The Tiramisu has a mellow coffee flavor infused into the cream cheese filling and had a fine dusting of chocolate on top.
