I immediately asked for her number and have been also going once a month~I am addicted...Amber makes you feel relaxed, pampered and "healed". Her personality and spirit are a true treasure not to mention her facial includes arm, leg and shoulder massage! You definitely get the most bang for your buck!! She always has good insight when it comes to your skin product needs and even will suggest foods that I should eat to better my overall skin care. Her prices are excellent!! This is my first time at Five Doors Down and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. It has a well-lit and comfy chic interior. Immediately upon coming in, I got seated in the waiting area and offered a variety of different refreshments. Running from work? They've got juice, coffee, tea, anything to help you settle in before being seen by your stylist. There's even an adorable lady who does great manicures in the back! I came in to see Kathleen Corbett, who is my long-standing go-to stylist. She is a top-notch colorist and gave me the only "signature haircut" I've been proud of in years. I'm currently going for a darker "going-into-fall" look but she successfully gave me a flaming red color job a few months ago that went amazingly with my skin tone and gave me many compliments from coworkers and friends alike. If you want to try a new color but don't know how to go about it or you need suggestions on cuts from classy to funky, I highly recommend giving Kathy a call :) read more

Kathy Corbett is one of the best colorist around! She has been fixing my attempts at doing my own color for years! A while back, I had tried to do highlights and wound up with three awful blotchy colors. She was able to restore it to a beautiful color (she told me afterward, she thought it was impossible! She never let me know that she was afraid to correct it - she just dove in and did her magic!) She also cuts my son and my husband's hair with out taking too much off (I like long hair - they like it short!) Keep up the good work! See you in a couple of weeks! read more

I had bought a deal from living social for me and another a gift for my daughter in november. When I called the next day to make a appointment they said oh they are booked until February. So I was upset but made appointment . I showed up to appointment today and they said that offer was canceled . I was upset that I was not called by the salon or given a refund grime living social . I just feel this was unprofessional and went back to wonder nails where I always have a great experience and are friendly every time :) read more

I purchased a coupon on living social for a mani/pedi and called to make my appointment. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make an appointment!!!! Lily's first question was if i had a coupon. I said yes and after that her tone changed and all she would say was SHES BUSY SHES BUSY SHES BUSY! I said ok give me any appointment early morning or late evening i was even ok with booking a month in advance , she REFUSED to schedule me. I posted a review on the same business but I didn't know which yelp it went to, so I posted the same review on this one.......here it goes.... I've been focusing lately on my skin since I turned thirty-faux. (not my real age) :) I've had a facial before and I absolutely loved it. I wanted to try a couple of places to see which techniques and Esthetician fits best with me. The salon is located in old town San Dimas. The place has such a old west charm. The building is like 100 years old. The salon itself is so lovely and intimate but modern. Didn't seem over done with a bunch of crap like some salons. I booked a facial with Laura. I liked her right away. She has such a sweet disposition and was cute as a button. I felt like a big ol bitch standing next to her. :) Anywho......the facial felt really good and my face was nice and exfoliated when it was all done. My skin was radiant. She also gave me pointers on keeping my skin hydrated cause she said my skin was a bit dehydrated. She said I needed to drink more. Got me all excited till I found out she meant water... (bummer) One thing I really like was she didn't shove products down my throat. I booked again with her right away. My skin today looks great and I feel like a million bucks. read more

Love this Salon. In BEAUTIFUL San Dimas and is so so very cute. Everyone here is so nice and makes you feel at home. Love the decor and everything about it!!! Come get you hair, nails, massage they do it all. I get my hair done by Gary Woolard. He is amazing and can do ANYTHING. Love him to death. I can't write a review of the services, because I never actually got in to the salon. I had a Groupon for a Shellac manicure (and regular pedicure), and the salon told me to contact the manicurist, Shirlee, to book an appointment. They gave me her cell phone number and I called...once was several months ago and I never heard back. Ok, fine, I found somewhere else at the time. Then I called in late August, and again on Sept. 1. Still no call back. I called the salon; no openings. I ended up contacting Groupon to get a refund (especially after finding Valerie at the Great Pretenders Salon in Covina, who is super-personable and does a great Shellac mani/pedi). After all of this, I got a call on 9/14 from Shirlee, returning my call and wanting to set up an appointment...exactly TWO WEEKS after I'd last called her and left a message. Sorry, no. Not going to happen. This may be a great salon and Shirlee might be a great manicurist, but I want to give my business to places that actually return calls and make an effort to serve their clients. read more

Lilly has been doing my nails for the last 10 years. She recently moved to this salon and its just so cute. Lilly is the most attentive manicurist EVER. She really knows how to treat her clients. Whether it is coming in especially for you on a Sunday because that is the only time you can make it or whether it is her bringing you back a present from her trip... She is so thoughtful. Everyone in this salon is talented and friendly! Both cosmetologists Trisha or Kelly are long-time skilled and talented color and cut artists! I've gotten the BEST color/cuts from Trisha than I've gotten anywhere else. I've also gotten top-notch pedis and manis from nail technician Lilly. I learned more about skin health from Laura in one amazing and relaxing facial than I've learned from all other estheticians combined! After visiting here, strolling through quaint western-style downtown San Dimas shops is quite fun. read more
