Well, it was full of diners at least...there were only 2 people waiting for orders when we got there. At the Five Guys in Birmingham, the orders come out super fast, piping hot, and perfect...at this Five Guys, our sandwiches sat on the counter for literally 20 minutes before they cooked fries and assembled our bag o' food. Aside from the fact that a grilled cheese slightly bigger than a silver dollar costs more than $4, getting said expensive dinner cold is suuuper disappointing. There were ample staff, and not many patrons waiting on food, but for whatever reason, things still took way too long. They were only using one fry basket even though there were fries sitting in 4 other baskets hanging above the deep fryer. One worker seriously dumped those 4 baskets of fries into the garbage as we waited patiently for someone to put some potatoes into hot oil so we could go home and eat. Grr!!! Anyway, this is a franchise and the food itself is pretty much the same as the food at any other location, but the service is horrible. Seeing as it's the only Five Guys around here, it will continue to do well, but that's only because of lack of competition, not because it's amazing. read more

Eat here every so often. Mostly takeout. Always great! I like the bacon cheeseburger with raw onion and grilled jalapeños. If you haven't had one of their shakes, I recommend you give one a try. Lots of flavors. read more

This is the only five guys that I've been to where they don't give the extra scoops of fries!. Way too expensive for what you get. Glad they are opening one a little closer to home. If you are equidistant between this one and another, choose the other. read more

What is the hype about this place? Yes they have real unprocessed potatoes to makes fries but their food is tasteless. The Hamburg is just a hamburger and their fries are just fries. The burgers are delicious and the cashier was nice about any question that I had for it only being my second time in a five guys. They were a little slower on orders but I know they cook things fresh so I don't mind. Delicious food and great atmosphere. Their one pop machines cooler didn't work so the pop was hot but I just used the other one. read more

They're SO stingy with the fries. Barely a cup full and definitely no extras were put in the bag, I had to ask for more. This is the second time this has happened. Five Guys is a great fast casual place to go - especially when you catch them in a not-busy time. We were able to walk right up to the counter and order our food. The workers were very boisterous and enthusiastic. They caught me on a good day, because I liked the energy they were exuding. I ordered one bacon cheese dog. My other half got a burger. We shared fries and two drinks. This came out to over $20. Watch your spending here. They get you with the $2+ drinks. The hot dog was amazing, as it was the last time I visited a Five Guys. The soda machine is always fun to use as they have a multitude of drinks and flavors to choose from. I ended up getting a Raspberry Diet Fanta. Great stuff! We ordered the smallest fry possible, but they made sure to throw about another handful into the bag. Always generous with the fries. read more

Holy smokes. I've had root canals which went better. 45 minutes before closing and they stopped serving shakes and I can't get drinks while I'm watching people refill theirs. They had the gall to say their drink machines were both down while another person was getting a refill. When I talked to another member of staff, they gave me a blank look, and only said "huh". Considering the two to one employee to customer ratio and 25 minute wait, the results of the staff concluded the lack of efficiency. I understand that times are hard, but when choosing to spend my money during these hard times, some sort of happy greeting would be appropriate, not "what do you want". If you want to stop serving at 9:25, say closed at 9:25 not at 10. Not much to ask for. read more

Our favorite burger place nearby. My son rarely orders burgers at restaurants but once he tried this place, it's his most requested place to eat. They love the peanuts, drink station (although flavors quickly run out), and customizable burgers. They did mess up our order this time. Gave my 11 year old the double burger with cheese (wanted single bacon burger without cheese) and husband the single patty still with cheese. We just let it go. All I have to say is the manager is doing something right. This location is THE example of teamwork. Many many many other places could benefit from this. Each person working there was on top of everything and the process ran smoothly. It was pretty busy in there but there wasnt any chaos behind the counter. If one person left their station another person would be there in an instant to cover it. The ones putting the condiments and toppings on the burgers and hot dogs were the ones that I first noticed. They pretty much divided the work of the orders by condiments and topping. OMG it was brilliant to watch. Not a studder or hesistation took place. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED by my online order tonight. In the MANY years that I average gone to Five Guys Auburn Hills I have never been disappointed by their service. Tonight I ordered my original order (cheese burger with a regular fry) well instead of receiving hot fries they were warm and to make matters worse they gave me two small cups that weren't even filled to the top. Like almost all Five Guys the food is great and the store was clean and pleasing on the eyes. The service in this store however leaves a bit to be desired and the price was just insane. The only reason i'm leaving 3 stars instead of 2 is because the food is so good. There were two people ahead of us at 4Pm on a Monday. The place is not busy at all. We order, and wait 25 minutes for 4 burgers and an order of fries. On a good day, Five Guys serves up overpriced, mediocre burgers. Today was not a good day. The patties were dry, tasteless and crumbling. The buns were over-toasted and crunchy. The fries were good. Maybe that's what we were forced to wait for . . . If you think Five Guys rates 4 or 5 stars, you really need to get out more often! read more

We love Five Guys! The stores around us have closed so this Auburn Hills location is a treat for us when we are out this way. However, this is the only location I've EVER been to that is so stingy with their fries. The cup is barely filled up and then they throw about 6-8 extra fries in the bag. All the other locations I've been to have piled on the french fries. To charge $4 for a regular size fry that barely feeds one person is insane. I have asked about this and was told I would have to wait 5-6 minutes for more fries to cook which means they do this intentionally since fries are cooked to order. Any other time our family of 4 can share a regular fry from any other location. We won't come back to this store. read more

I discovered this location about a year ago and it became a family favorite for lunch. Food was excellent. My last two trips were on the disappointing side. The trip before last their soda machine would not dispense any Coke, which put my young son into a tizzy. It's one of his favorite things when we come. I must say that on our first couple visits the fries were crisp outside and really yummy, but the past few months the fries were mushy, definitely not crisp. On my last trip, I was eating a two-patty burger and noticed something oddly crunchy. It was tin foil, which was odd because I did not remember biting the foil. The next bite I noticed it again, and this time I could see a layer of foil in between the two patties. I immediately took it up and the staff apologized and immediately made me a new burger. The new one was good, but I kind of lost my appetite after that. I have to say I really like the employees here, everyone is friendly and helpful. I wish they would go back to the excellent food they once had. read more
