I think in general Shake Shack is great. Yummy food, tasty shakes, and generally nice employees. It's great that this location was able to open up as I believe more and more are starting to pop up around the area. I love the variety of options they normally have to choose from when it comes to burgers/fries and their shakes. Last time I stopped in here with a friend I ordered the Shroom burger with a lemonade and it was pretty good! Now, I think I must have either terrible luck or there seems to be an overall shipment issue but this is the second time at this location where I've been told they aren't able to make any shakes. Of course when I'm told this I'm a little bummed as it's one of the main reasons to go but I don't cause a fuss as perhaps we are just going too late in the day. I am not a huge fan of fast food and I don't understand the hype over Shake Shack. It is clearly better than many of its competitors, but it still falls into the category of overpriced fast food. Plenty of parking and easy to access being right off of Hall Road. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. My friends and I were visiting Michigan and luckily happened upon this Shake Shack location as we don't have it in Canada. The location was good, near a lot of shopping so it worked out well in our favour. The location had ample parking and a good amount of seating inside. The place got pretty busy but they had self checkout machines as well which made it go pretty quickly. The food was delicious as expected from Shake Shack. Got to try the Korean Fried Chicken, not necessarily my favourite but still not a bad option/variation for chicken. My friends got the Shack Burger and Smoke Shack, and those were excellent as well. I just want to start by saying the food is a five out of five! Our goal is to visit all of the Michigan Shake Shack locations, and we were excited to see this location open. I had the shack stack with the mushroom and the burger. The burger was cooked well, the mushroom crispy and the cheese oozy, just the way I like it. I also added pickles, it was so good. I also got the cheese fries, delicious. I love to also dip it in their top notch ketchup, and some mayo, their food is the best. We normally share fries, but not this time, we really all wanted our own and nearly finished them all. I like the space, it has some cute cartoonish food poster decorations and some good seating. it is very small and narrow, but probably a perfect and efficient space. There is also some seating outside for warmer months. As stated in other reviews, some of the issues revolve around pacing and the time it takes to get out the food. Now I understand a few things, I think this location is new, so they will work out the bugs and possibly get faster. They have a drive-through, so with that, in person ordering, kiosks, plus mobile ordering, they will definitely get backed up in the kitchen. I do not mind if I am not in a rush (I wasn't) and the food is the right temperature for what I ordered, (which the food was but not the dessert). Another issues was with some rowdy customers. There was a group of people who were not just loud (that is not an issue for us) but taking the chairs and slamming them periodically on the floor which can be jarring for certain people and taking out speakers and blasting their music. I could see the individuals who worked here noticed, but they did nothing. Another customer had to talk to them about picking up and slamming chairs on the ground and blasting music. The customer was polite and they stopped. But the real issue for the lower score was that the family ordered two milkshakes and a float. While it look a long time to prepare (understandable with so many customers) they frozen treats did not all come out at once and the ones that did sat out and melted while they waited for the complete order. They could have given them to us as they were prepared, or like at the Rochester location, put them in a cooler until they were all prepared. So the family was left with not so thick and melted milkshakes and floats. We did not say anything we just drank them and left. One family member proclaimed to like the Rochester location the best, it is really well managed and they are on top of the food, plus I appreciate the cooler they use to keep the frozen treats frozen. We may come out here again, but I know there is at least one more location to visit for now. read more

When I'm in NYC I like to stop at Shake Shack on 8th Ave. for a late night shake or malt. I was eating at the establishment next door and thought I should grab a strawberry malt for the ride home. Went through the drive thru about 5 cars in front me. I got to the place to order and a polite voice greeted me with a welcome to Shake Shack how can I help you. So we ordered our shakes and it didn't take it that long to get our shakes. My strawberry malt was excellent. Was not disappointed. It made for a nice ride home. read more

Not gonna lie I have been anticipating this opening for a while now because it's close to my work. The day finally came! I got an email for the friends and family soft opening and quickly picked my time slot (super helpful btw with work). Was quickly greeted by someone to scan my QR and give me a brief but informative run down. Then quickly moved on to order, it's a dual drive thru then merges to one and there was a car in front of me ordering and it went quickly. The staff is super friendly here. Waited a few minutes and quickly got my food. I decided oh the hot ones bacon burger, cheese fries and yuzu orange cider. Everything was neatly presented and cooked appropriately. I was excited for the burger because I live for hot stuff. So it says 7/10 heat I'm gonna have to say for me 3/10 heat. It had flavor for sure I just really love spice, I know the general pop. will feel this is spicy. Cheese fries were cheese fries, crispy and salty. And the yuzu orange cider to me tasted like a yuzu orangey lemonade ? Not mad it tasted great! Absolutely love that they have compostable straws that don't suck! Seriously had it in my drink for over and hour and not a soggy gross straw like some I've had. It is a nice premium sort of fast food joint. The burgers are good-no doubt about it. They are also expensive. Over $6 for a single burger and another four bucks for fries. As everything is made at time of order it is a touch slow. Frankly I won't even write a review for a restaurant with a drive through but it is new to M59 and Michigan (there is an awesome Shake Shack in downtown Detroit-no drive through). First off, this review is not about the stars but my individual thoughts for what I believe to be a freshly opened burger place. I watched the building and anticipated as anyone in this area knows when driving up and down Hall Road. I checked the menu before opening and was ready. I like to start safe. 2 singles and 1 double burger with crinkle fries and small vanilla shake. Sounds safe to me. Many a trainee in all areas as I looked around while cashier rang me up. $34.00!! Sticker shock setting in! But hey, hold up till tasted. A smiling employee pops out of the kitchen with my order. Pretty quick! Drive home. Smells good in passenger seat. Positive vibes. Reality sets in at home. All 3 burgers, 4 burger patties, burned! Lettuce and tomato extremely hot! Were they cooked along with patties?? One single was eaten. One bite of the double cheeseburger and I stopped. Crinkle fries made it thru. Vanilla shake not worth that amount of money. 2 burgers in trash and upset stomach. Mind you, it's wayyy to much for that meal for what I had. However, I'm going to save a bashing review after this restaurant is open for a few months and everyone is trained and newness wears off. Happy to finally see a Shake Shack close to home. We waited until the grand opening buzz subsided to visit. Overall, our choices were great! Starting with the good points Shake Shack shakes taste awesome and the black and white shake did not disappoint. Not sure it's worth the $6 price tag but oh well. The cheese fries were meh. The cheese reminded me of Kraft Mac & cheese on soggy crinkle cut fries. The burger patties were tasty but the buns Shake Shack use are not up to the job. The bun was way too small compared to the burger and the flimsy bottom bun was soaked trough with burger grease. This is sacrilegious. Putting a tasty hamburger on such a cheap bun should be a hanging offense. A good burger in essence is just a beef patty on a bun. And Shake Shack totally botched it when it came to their buns. I've really tried to give this place a chance but the food is overrated and overpriced. read more
