Pricy. Burger was alright but the fries was too greasy for me. I like the roasted peanuts though.

What the truck! I am loving this place! I've been here about 4 times and every time I've been in over the past few years I've gotten great service, great entertaining employees, great burgers, dogs, and gobs of fries! I was a bit puzzled, as we left our second visit, about why the big deal about 5 Guys. The burgers were less flavorful than the little freckled red head girls' down the street, and I have had fries that were about the same or better, and for the price of a Vienna beef Chicago dog. So, the red heads' employees may not be as practiced at acting thrilled at the sight of me, and the Chicago dog vendor may not be as perky, but for value and flavor, I would rather pay either of them a visit on the rarer occasions that we reserve for fast food splurges. read more

Ok I have heard all the hype about this place. Been here 2 times. Burgers are well, just ok, nothing special.Toppings on the burgers were nice and fresh. The place was extremely busy both times we were here, but that was expected due to it's location. Service was good, fast and friendly. The fries....... just ok, again nothing special. The prices are extremely expensive for what you get. 4 of us and it was almost 50 bucks........ This is in no way meant to be a bad review. The food was not bad, just not THE BEST.. I guess I am still trying to figure out what all the hype is about this place. There are other places around here that serve a comparable burger for a lot less money. read more

Love this place! My dad took my family out to eat and somehow we ended up here (original plan was pizza). I'm glad we decided on this instead! The burgers are huge as are the order of fries. But it was damn good. All of it. And I have to admit that the soda options were one of my favorite parts. Seriously where else can you get vanilla rootbeer? read more

The customer service in this place is outstanding EVERY TIME I come here. I'm here right now, the staff is so pleasant, friendly, and helpful. I've come here WITH my kids just moments before closing and they STILL are pleasant and friendly! It's amazing. Been many times to several stores. Very consistent quality among them. Menu somewhat limited...concentrated on burgers and fries, which they do well. Beef cooked un-seasoned...juicy but a little bland. Huge selection of toppings. Fries are the large, softer, boardwalk style served in much too large portions. A "small" burger, regular fries and a soft drink will set you back near $10. That's $2-3 more than the equivalent meal at their closest competition.... CULVERS. read more

I normally don't like fast food chains, but I admit that I'm a big fan of Five Guys. This was probably the only location I've been to that wasn't empty. I think most of the customers are coming from Six Flags, which kind of explains why this location was so packed. The wait was also longer than usual. The young lady taking our orders was really friendly. Great burgers like usual. I normally get the Little Bacon Burger. Plenty of mushrooms, onions, and pickles in it. Good amount of seasoning in their Cajun Fries. Salted Caramel milkshake lacked the caramel flavor. It tasted more like vanilla shake. I think I like the strawberry better. I haven't ate 5 guys in a long time, just never got around to it. So me and girlfriend decided to get 5 guys a little late at like 9:10pm,soon as I got inside the cashier seems very annoyed that I was coming in, she took her time to come to the front to take my order. I asked a couple questions and off the bat she seemed bothered and answered very annoyed. So I decided to stop asking simple questions, like how much fries come with a regular size. So after she took my order a couple more people came in and the cashier and the cook just looked upset, it took like 15mins for them to get my order, the burgers that we ordered were "ok"but the fries were very burnt, barely filled the cup as well. I get it I work as cook at a restaurant as well but when you get costumers an hour before you close you shouldn't be that upset, and rather work faster to get the orders out and be patient. read more

Excellent experience! Couldn't have asked for a better burger! I had the bacon cheeseburger (all the way toppings)! Absolutely amazing. The fries where good but a little thick for my liking. I would suggest you to try the small size fry since they dump another helping in besides the portion you purchase. Great food! Overall, they run a good ship. A few of the cashiers are really nice and the food is always good. Kenny and his crew run an exceptional Five Guys restaurant by the Gurnee Mills mall! This place is immaculately clean, with excellent food every time, very consistent. Absolutely amazing burgers! All fresh meat, all fresh produce (seeiously!), the jalapeños were so green and not like the ones you get from a jar, just tremendous. The fries on the other hand were too salty but those were definitely fresh too! I am not a big fan of the excessive amount of fries either because I am trying to eat balanced meals and I have a bad habit of making sure I eat everything I buy. I did have to end up throwing the fries in the bag away simply because they were too salty. Price is a little high but worth it if you love burgers. They use only peanut oil to fry their stuff as well which is also a plus. read more

Although I'd never eaten at a Five Guys before, my 16 year old son tells me how great they are, so I thought it would be a good stop for a late lunch with my parents, both in their 80's, since they love burgers. I was worried when we arrived, since the rock music was pretty loud. I warned my folks, so dad went in to check it out. The gal cleaning the door glass asked if we needed anything, and I explained the worry about the music. She offered most graciously to turn it down. Another woman who took our order was incredibly patient and helpful. The burgers were good, the fries were great and the regular serving size fed all three of us. The strawberry shake was the best ever!! Bits of strawberries in a smooth and tasty shake with lots of delicious whipped cream on top. We were there mid-afternoon, and often a slow time means poor service, but this spot gave amazingly great customer service. Twice they came by our table to see if we were happy. Just really kind people who seem to love where they work. Wish the chairs didn't sit quite so low, but otherwise the place was perfect. read more

The burgers are pretty good, but overall the menu is overpriced. They have signage all over claiming "best value" and "best $5 burger" all from NY city and LA newspapers. Maybe the pricing structure there relates to "cheap" but not so much here in the midwest. First, the so called $5 burger is actually $5.79 and the cheeseburger is $6.49. Not that bad, but not exactly as advertised. A regular frie hits you up for another $3.39 (large fry a whopping $4.69) And just to hit you up for every last penny, a regular soda runs you $2.29 ($2.59 for a large). So to put in into perspective, a Cheeseburger, regular fry and regular soda will set you back $12.17 (more if your location charges tax). If you upgrade to a large fry and drink, your total will be a whopping $13.77 for a burger, fry & coke combo. Is that a "Value"? I'll let you be the judge, but I think there are better for much less. read more

My first time trying Five Guys and I have to say they have the best fries I've ever had! As far as the burger, it was pretty good! I am way more of an IN-N-OUT fan when it comes to the burgers, but Five Guys was good too; just not as flavorful! I would go back, but next time order the smaller hamburger. read more

Came here after being at the mall for quite some time and I was starving. Heard good things about this place and my expectations were high, but my expectations were beat! Burger was excellent (little buger is a single patty and is still a very nice serving size, compared to regular burger which is two patties). Small fries are also a generous serving size. This was my first experience eating at 5 Guys and I was not impressed. Their menu boasts "grilled mushrooms and onions". The mushrooms came from a can and the chopped onions weren't grilled either. It was hard to taste the burger as they added too much mustard. The fries were good. I probably would not spend the almost $10 for this meal again. read more
