Ok. I've been here off and on over the years. Generally pretty good. Tonight was spectacular. The gentleman making sandwiches tonight knows what he's doing. Service experience was far better than the last couple of times I've been here and the food quality...spectacular. Portions were generous and commensurate with the price...which is rare now days. You feel like you got what you paid for. I had a combo on garlic bread. Best combo I've had in recent memory. I hope they keep their current purveyors because the quality is great. Promote the gentleman who served me this evening as he was professional, polite, efficient, accommodating and made the best sandwiches I've had from this place. I stopped here for lunch while I was in the area because the beef sandwich's looked pretty good and I like me my beef sandwich's. The place is behind the liquor store in a strip mall so it can be hard to find because you can't see it from the strip mall. The place is clean looking and nice with tables and counter window seating. I order the beef dipped with hot peppers and the bag was noticeably heave for what I was expecting. The beef looked great and man was the beef piled on and I couldn't finish the whole sandwich. The beef was pretty good, thin sliced with a nice gravy. I liked to get my beef dipped so the bread soaks up all juice which just makes for a beer sandwich. The beef is so big that it's hard to eat when it's dipped and it's messy. I hate to do this. A few months ago, I would have given them 5 stars, as it's been one of my favorite beef/ sausage places. But there are now new owners and my first visit wasn't great. Let me just say, that I hope this was a one-off and hopefully it will be better next time. I ordered an Italian sausage with sweet peppers and Mozzarella cheese. When I got it, the shredded Mozzarella was cold. No attempt to melt the cheese at all? Again, I hope I have a better experience next time. Excellent food. One of my favorite doctors from my work bought us lunch from here and it was delicious!!! I had a piece of Italian sausage (no bread) that was delicious and flavorful and moist and topped it with some of the sweet peppers and the giardiniera that was so crunchy pickled hot and tasty.. loved the celery in it. Also had a meatball smothered in sauce and a few fries. Did not try the Italian beef but my coworkers raved about it. So next time, I will be trying that for sure. Everything was hot fresh. This food was just what we needed with all the chaos that is going on with at work and we were so hungry it really hit the spot. I cannot wait to have this again. Okay I've been living down the street from you for about 10 years when you were on Route 45 in the beginning I spent 40 years in the restaurant business. Your picture and your opening page is terrible what's the first rule of thumb on slicing Italian beef? It needs to be super cold so you can slice it paper thin secondly every time you cut a piece of meat it should be against the grain. Your picture shows the meat being caught the wrong way it's all stringy and it's too thick. It lacks flavor you need to put more beef fat in your juice it's called suet. Lots of black pepper fresh garlic oregano granulated garlic press red pepper beef soup base I like a very high quality brand used inside rounds. Come on guys wake up your beef is below average that's why your business is mediocre I'm not trying to be rude I used to sell 150 200 piece a day five to six other sandwiches. Wow. REALLY DISAPPOINTED! New owner, new stuff. This USED to be the place to get a great beef/sausage combo. The beef was homemade, the sausage was huge and delicious and the giardinaire was homemade by owner and SPECTACULAR. No more though. That is all gone unfortunately. I went in for the first time since the new ownership reopened. I ordered a combo and immediately was disappointed. Service was fast and friendly, but the sandwich was sad. The combo sandwich was around 1/2 the size it used to be. The beef was broken down, but tasty. The bun was also about half size and the giardinaire was ehh... it was ok, but it was regular restaurant quality giardinaire. Certainly no where NEAR as good as the homemade that original owner used to make. Really disappointed, I have to try to find another beef place now. Luke's is gone, now ba da bing beef is as well. I've been searching for a great Italian beef for the 22 years I've lived up here and FINALLY found it at Kathy's Kitchen/Bada Bing. Not only did I find a beef that is flavorful, tender, with insanely good au jus, bread and giardinier they also have outstanding fresh cut fries and legit Chicago-style hot dogs. I nearly cried while eating my meal it was so delicious. These people know what they are doing. Please please go to this restaurant and keep them in business. I was the only person there on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. I will be inconsolable if this place doesn't make it. Super friendly folks too! I needed a quick fix for my immediate hunger and always drove by this place meaning to stop in. Well, I came at lunch and there was a scarce crowd inside but the place seemed clean and the service was friendly. Ended up ordering a few Chicago hot dogs dragged through the garden and I probably waited for 2-3 minutes before my food was hot and ready. I've seen a few negative reviews and I honestly had a good experience with some great food. Rest assured, they are open again! This time in Third Lake in a plaza called Waterstone. I was skeptical coming in because they boast themselves as being the best in Lake County and they claim to be better than Portillo's, these are big statements so I decided to see this - or rather taste this for myself. The food was delicious. I got two hot dogs, fries, and water for seven dollars and some change. What a great deal! Everything on the menu is super affordable, you really get great food for a low price. When my friend and I walked in there weren't too many people around and they didn't have a NOW OPEN sign hanging in the front. New location is wonderful . My son thought they had closed but fortunately found out that they just moved locations. Went on Saturday morning with 16 people, 8 of them children and were treated so nicely. The owner is so kind and the food was awesome! Beef sandwiches were so good. My son and husband love the hot pepper sauce. Kids had chili dogs and cheese fries. One of the children wanted more chili for his chili dog and they graciously gave him a bowl of chili. Last year I would of gave this place a 5 starts. This place was one of the best beefs around. Just recently visited it again unfortunately the food quality has changed. Had a beef an sausage combo, beef missing the favorites it had before. The sausage seemed like it was cooked for 2-3 day and dry . The rolls were so hard even after it was dipped. My first visit. I considered the beef slices to be on the thick side and because it was overcooked, it was chewy and dry. As for the fresh cut fries, they were soggy and limp, and drowned in salt. I could only eat 5 or 6 fries before gagging out on the salt. Not sure if they know how to properly prep the fries (cold water soak and rinse), or if the oil was too dirty and/or too low in temperature. Cook staff needs some guidance. read more

Had a beef with fries about two weeks ago, and my family was so impressed! We couldn't get enough, and we had leftovers for lunch because the sandwich was so big. Went again last night, and underwhelmed was the word. I was able to finish the entire sandwich and the fries, which was not the case before. I'd say they sized down on portions by about 20%. The beef, in terms of flavor didn't seem as dynamic this time either. Before, it was good value for the money, but now it's about on par with other overpriced lake county venues. I like it better than Portillo, and on par with Al's Beef, Bueno Beef and my Favorite Mr Beef in Chicago. Can't tell you about much else that they serve since I always get the Beef.
