I am a fan! I love Five Guys. I do. It is the closest to "In-N-Out" that I've had. What's interesting about Five Guys, for me, is that I almost never think to go there. It's ALWAYS recommended from my dining companion. I always feel a little let down, but it's not long before I wonder what the heck I was ever thinking. Look. It's not tacos. So I think it take me a moment to comprehend. When I open the car door, I smile. I know we've made the right choice. I'm suddenly stoked to be there. When I open the door of Five Guys, I remember the simple set up, local spuds, shelled peanuts and all the fixins' I could ask for. Small cheeseburger, an array of veggies and my dude got the double cheese with grilled onions, bacon, mayo and mustard. Savory as hell. Delicious. Today mine was green bell peppers, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and it was fantastic! I never would have thought raw green bells would be so fresh and zesty on a burger. Delightful. Was picking up a DoorDash order here the other day and have never been so upset. I was told both orders would be ready at 1... I didn't walk out until closer to 1:40 and I wish that was an exaggeration. When I looked at the tickets on the bags as I was leaving it said they were printed out at 12:40 so it took them an hour to make two orders? It's just unacceptable to me, I'm missing out on my time and money while it seemed as if they were pushing back my orders to prioritize people dining in. read more

Went in for the first time to order food for myself. I pick up there often for Uber Eats, so I wanted to see for myself. I ordered a cheeseburger with small fries and a peanut butter chocolate shake. The shake was good. I never got the chance to try the burger because it was buried underneath a shit load of fries. I had two options to get to it: 1. Burn my hand on the fresh fries or 2. I like this place - the food is as fresh as you could possibly ask for - if you put your order in advance, they still wait for you to walk in the door before they start cooking the fries. The small burger is certainly all I ever want, but I'm not a fan of huge meat burgers anywhere. The food does tend to sit a little heavy on me - perhaps they could do a better job of draining the fat off the meat or something... The buns don't hold up as well as I would like, I should ask them to toast them more the next time. The staff is friendly, the place is spotless and they have free shell your own peanuts to munch on until your food is ready. It's a good standby place to get a burger. A crave-able place. Very informal, you place your order at a counter, and pick it up when your number is called. They have about 5 total things on the menu, and they do a good job on them. I always get the bacon cheeseburger and a small fry. Share a large fry between 2 people, they are huge. They give you free peanuts and you can throw them on the floor. I'm giving 4 stars because, dangit, they need to upgrade the cheese. The plastic stuff just sucks. read more

The ordering system allows me to place an order well ahead of time for a schedule time for pickup. However, no matter what, the order is at least 20 mins late. The system needs to manage expectations a bit better because this location isn't delivering as-expected. I'm pretty sure they're the reason my pants are starting to fell like saran wrap, but I love, love, love the food here! This is the only place on the West coast that can hold a candle to In 'N Out, and the staff are pretty awesome too. I usually order online and they're very quick to make my order (the only wait being for the fresh fries). Which isn't a bad thing because the fries are best when they're piping hot. You could probably get a whole meal at Macpoonalds for the cost of one of their burgers, but I feel good knowing my burger isn't pink goop dyed brown. Quality over quantity people! Did a grub hub order from you guys at 10:01:45 pm tonight when the order got here, in side the sealed bag was only half the order, completely forgot my 3 patty bacon cheeseburger. I was so stoked to eat that burger was truly upset it got forgotten at the restaurant. Happy my fiance got to eat she enjoyed her burger but that was the last of my money till payday and now I got to wait a few days for it to be refunded. Terrible way to end the night. Do me a favor and check the bag before you send it on its way the drivers can't look to see whats inside so they're relying on you to make sure it's all there. 3 stars...barely. Despite my less-than-stellar experience at the Beaverton Five Guys, I decided to give the new Hillsboro location a chance to stand on their own. Well, sorry Five Guys fans, this burger aficionado is still not impressed. They sling decent fast food which is superior to the national chains, as the burgers are made fresh and by hand, and the fries are thick cut and plentiful. However, their food is best described in my vernacular as a "gut bomb." Heavy-handed and greasy. I chose the bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, pickles, raw onion and tomato. The burger was cooked to the right temperature, but under-seasoned and bland. The bacon was tasty and the toppings were crisp and fresh; however, the MASSIVE amount of American cheese dominated the flavor and texture of the entire burger. I'm looking for a burger with a topping of cheese, not a blob of Velveeta with some meat thrown in the center. Complete overkill. The fries were done to the right consistency - not too soft and not too crispy - but they oozed enough oil to soak through the paper bag (as this seems to be a signature trait of Five Guys). This makes take out a messy endeavor and weighs down the meal...let the gut bombing continue! Kudos on many soft drink choices, including several diet and "zero" products. The customer service at the Hillsboro location was good too, though the lines were (strangely) non-existent when I arrived. This makes me wonder if the Five Guys entry into the Portland market has waned somewhat, sort of like what happened to Krispy Kreme. The Beaverton location was swamped from day one. Not so much here. Let the transplants from DC and Balmer have this place to themselves. I'll take any number of the PDX-only burger joints or, if I'm in a hurry, a Burgerville any day of the week over the gut bombers at Five Guys. read more

We've been to several locations and the quality and service is pretty consistent. Great burgers and fries at reasonable prices. Pretty fast service and they do make long lines move quickly. I've yet to have bad meal there although it's a whole day's worth of calories.... Free peanuts! read more

Be forewarned, if this review seems grammatically off its because I am slowly fading into a food coma. I literally just ate the food from this place and I feel my eyelids getting heavy. This was my first time trying their burgers. I normally am not a huge burger person but when you get a craving for them, nothing else comes close to satisfactory. And let me tell you, this was more than satisfactory. Other reviews were good and the photos looked delicious so I figured I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did. Lazily, I almost went to Wendy's because I didn't want to get out and they don't have a drive-thru window. But I hate fast food normally and I just wanted a big, juicy bacon cheeseburger. I also ordered a little fry, which was the equivalent to a medium fry in my opinion. The fries were really good. I normally am not a big fry person either. So anyway food alone I would give them a 5! The inside was very basic, like a typical modern diner for burgers. I'm guessing people weren't there for the ambiance. Staff was friendly. My only qualm is that there is no drive-thru. Kind of reminds me of an in and out except the burgers are much larger (and more expensive). All in all I would recommend five guys if you're looking for a good, juicy, filled with toppings, and tons of meat old fashioned burger. I'm just not getting it with this place. Tried again today after I've avoided Five guys for at least a year or more. What's good: I love the fries. The fries get the entire 2 stars. When hot and fresh they are amazing if you like this style of skin-on fresh cut medium thick fries. Don't let them get cold or it's a soggy greasy mess. What's not good: Hands down worst bun I've had on any burger. Opened up my sandwich to a cold, smashed and very dry bun. Even McD's has artisan buns that are quite good. Entire burger was lukewarm, patty seems to be good quality and not real greasy BUT I think there's no seasoning!! So plain and bland and fake crappy processed cheese slice to top it off! From what I gather, people are impressed by all the available toppings. Well yes they have a lot and that's great, but I prefer the meat and bun to have good flavor and don't rely on toppings. $10 for single patty burger, smallest size fry (which is generous) and drink. I love 5 guys. They have great menu items and they're on grubhub too which is great for when you just want a night in. I love their veggie sandwiches which is basically all their toppings on a bun. Their fries are rich and delicious and they have awesome milkshakes too. I missed having this place around before i moved to the portland area and am glad to have them around where I live. read more

I've been to 5 guys all over the country, and they're/were my go-to burger place. But, I broke me 3.5 star Minimum rule - even tho it's 5 guys, I shoulda kept to my rule! After calling in and being told less than 10 mins, at about the 20 min mark and my asking - I was told it has been ready (I saw it on the shelf) and was apologized to - right before leaving, by the manager (Andrea, she said), told me they had it all wrong - it hadn't even been started yet. Another rule - DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE! If I Haden't, I could have easily gone to BK, McDs or bento burger. So, after waiting for about another 5 mins AND being harangued by Andrea the whole time and even on my way out the door (??? Saving face???). She kept berating me quite loudly that I was a problem for her workers ! ???? It wouldn't have upset me so much (bc burger was fine) if Andrea knew what she was doing and didn't forget that I was a customer - WHO STUPIDLY, already paid! Sadly, I'm on another quest for a reliable burger place. If they have a store that operates this way anywhere - then we must question everything they do. I've had FIVE GUYS BURGERS & FRIES in Vancouver and loved it, I've had it in San Jose and I've loved it and now I've had it in Hillsboro and guess what? I loved it! Why did I love it? Well, the name of the game is consistency my friends, and FIVE GUYS has consistent quality, consistent flavor and consistent friendly and professional staff. After a few hours of Black Friday shopping, four of us stopped in for lunch and all of us were pleased with our meals. I had the BACON CHEDDAR BURGER WITH GRILLED ONIONS, JALAPENOS & BBQ SAUCE and as always, even in other cities, it was excellent. Fresh, flavorful and a little messy with falling apart in my hands - perfect. The Cajun fries are a must as I like a little spice to my fries and if you want, peanuts for the table are free. If there is a downside to Five Guys, I find that they all seem to play loud rock music and that coupled with all the yelling back and forth between the crew in the kitchen can sometimes make conversation difficult but it does make for a lively atmosphere. Regardless, you don't come to FIVE GUYS for the ambiance, you come for the food and the food is a home run! read more

Lol honestly I don't know why this location has such negative reviews.. I mean people it is a "fast food" place, not a fine dinning restaurant. Burgers are good, fries are tasty. Customer service is always quick and friendly. And we stop by here several times a month and have never had any issues with the food or service. It's always the same friendly faces. I really like that the 1 usual cook is everywhere, he's cooking, he's assembling and even jumps on the register to take your order!! He comes off as the manager Bc he is so involved... if he isn't then promote him lol. It's funny that the guys here are actually friendlier than the girls.. usually is the opposite. We've gone to Five Guys in the past and every once in awhile we crave a juicy burger and their hot, homemade fries. We ordered ahead of time for pickup and got there on time. The guy told hubby they were cooking fries first and then burger. No problem, except by the time hubby realized there were no fries, one of the employees pointed to a bag on the counter. Apparently the fries had been sitting there for some time as they were cold, overcooked, and had already coated the bag in grease. The burger was a lettuce wrap. The burger wasn't juicy. It was swimming in grease so much that the lettuce was covered in it and wilted. I dabbed up grease and had the hamburger patties, tried a couple fries and tossed 2/3 in the garbage. And not to be picky, but hubby was looking forward to a handful of peanuts while waiting. Nope! A little sign said for dine in only. Not for pick up/will call orders. Seriously! So he stood there, disappointed, waiting while 6 customers behind him got their orders and left. Sounds petty, but really? We used to love Five Guys. They've gone way downhill. So clean that while sitting eating our Little Bacon Cheeseburger's the manager and staff member are cleaning the windows directly behind us. While sparing our back of necks and our lunch is also now contaminated with cleaning solution. We spoke up, and they just kept cleaning, ignorantly aware of us eating. Wah? I've been to a couple of other Five Guys and the burger was pretty decent. The one I got today at this joint was crappy. Really crappy. It made me sad. The bun was soggy and looked like somebody wadded it up and tossed it on the floor before they slapped it on top of the burger. That burger? It was completely tasteless and formless. If however you'd like to read my tale of woe by all means, read on. After work I was feeling in the mood for a good burger and fries. Sadly, I called in my order to this Five Guys. I had heard about the "secret" menu at Five Guys so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a shot. Be warned. The secret menu is more of a concept than a reality. The "extra crispy" fries were just the ordinary fries. The "patty melt" was a sorrowful looking grilled cheese with a sickly hamburger patty languishing inside. Even the ordinary bacon cheese burger arrived as a double rather than a single, complete with two patties that resembled hamburgers served at a grade school cafeteria. The only order that was filled correctly was the single patty for my dog and even he cocked his head at it as if to say, "really?". Now, I understand that we are all living during the trying times of Covid. And Friday evenings can be busy at a fast food "restaurant". But there appeared to be a full compliment of staff and even a manager on premises so I fail to see why my order proved to be such a Herculean endeavor. My only conclusion is that this Five Guys is either skating along on the Five Guys reputation or Satans minions have taken up residence here and are churning out the devils idea of burgers and fries. This was my first time at a Five Guys burger. I'd seen it around for a long time and finally decided to try it out. I was very underwhelmed by their cheeseburger and fries. It is nice that you can customize what you want and you get limitless toppings, but that's only enjoyable when the burger itself tastes good. I couldn't tell how this was different from any other fast food burger place and really made me miss In-n-out. People rave about their fries too but I also like In-n-out's version better and they also use fresh, whole potatoes. read more

So I tried five guys for the first time and I was so excited. BUT ILL NEVER RETURN. My order took 25 mins, people orders were coming out who ordered after me and when I ask about it, it has JUST BEEN SITTING THERE by the to go orders and there was no "sorry for you wait" just here you go after I asked about it!!. I had to pay 30 dollars for 2 burgers 2 shakes (which were melted by the time I left)and 1 large fry, I could have went to red robin and it would have been cheaper and way better. My food was cold/soggy. The hype is not real. Customer service was not great. Bathrooms don't have toilet seat covers. Just all around bad experience. read more

Let me preface this by saying this is not about my burger being made wrong, it is about the treatment I received when I asked for it to be made right.... I had done a web order on the app and headed straight to the store. Not a single person acknowledged me as I went to receive my food. I stood at the counter close to 5 minutes (because at that point I was hoping that someone would ask me if I needed help) before I had to tell them I was picking up. I watched as the guys making the burgers seemed confused about which burgers were which while I was sitting there waiting to be helped. I the recieved my order and headed home. I obviously see that my order was messed up and decide to call to see what they could do for me. I talked with 2 people before I got to a "supervisor" and was on hold for a while. When the supervisor answered(I believe her name was Shauna) she was extremely rude and unapologetic. She told me she couldn't do anything unless I was in store(which I understand). She never once offered me any sort of help to fix the problem. I finally asked if I could just get the burger remade. I headed back and I again was met with a supervisor who was just plain rude and offered me no apology. I get that Friday nights are busy and mistakes will happen but have the decency to be kind to your customers who just want their order made correctly. read more
