Their fries leave something to be desired - they're not bad enough that I wouldn't order them they're just not my favorite or anywhere close but the burger is worth the mediocre fries. WORST FIVE GUYS EVERRR!!! If I could give this place no stars I would. I use to go to five guys when I was younger and me and my boyfriend stopped at this specific five guys at night. Not only is the customer service cruel and disrespectful but the chefs in the back were talking shit and kept staring and mimicking me when I was saying my order to the cashier. The cashier screams at me in my face and says I cant hear what your saying at all because of my mask, very rude and disrespectfully. OK, I've had the pleasure of eating these burgers years ago while I was in Virginia, and I knew what I was getting myself into by going to the location in Huntington Beach. The location is not really hard to find, but in a very inauspicious strip mall. I am a true burger purist and have been looking for a good burger on this side of the country. I grew up knowing that In N Out meant quality and freshness, and was very satisfied with my In N Out. That is until I moved away. In my burger quests, I have had them from all states in all different forms. Five Guys is the burger in the purest form. Painfully simple and wrapped in foil. this is the only place where having a well done hamburger is acceptable. I love In N Out Burger, I love The Hat, I love the Habit, I even like Fatburger, but Five Guys Makes them all kind of mediocre. Yes, it is more money than all of the afforementioned places, but completely worth it. Not an everyday burger, by any means, but a great one for Burger lovers. Hype tastes pretty good. read more

It is what it is, and that is a fast food burger joint. Pretty simple layout to the menu, every burger is a double burger unless you get a jr. burger. They start out plain and you pick the toppings from a good deal of choices. The patties are very thin so if you like a thick patty cooked to a certain temperature you sadly won't find it her. That said they are pretty decent burgers and certainly in the upper echelon of fast food burgers but not quite to Fatburger status. For me the fries were the real show stealer and I tried both the Cajun as well as the five guys style. Both were great in their own right. I would sure like to see a Chili Cheese option on them. Service has been outstanding both times I have been with the register workers more than happy to explain how everything works as well as ready to make recommendations. Overall it has been a very good experience each time I have been. Prices are maybe a little higher than you would like to see and they have already gone up in the short time they have been open at this location. read more

Very flavorful food, the burger is juicy and well seasoned. The choice of toppings is pretty good. The only thing I would prefer is for them to toast the bun and to have Thousand Island dressing available...these two things would have pushed the burger over the top.The bun was slightly mushy and I ate in the dining room, I can't imagine how sloppy it would be if I took it "to go". All in all, I'd say it's the best burger I've had in a long time rivals Fuddruckers and The Habit Burger....blows away Islands, Red Robin etc. The fries were pretty good as well. A small fry is plenty to share for two people. And the gift cards make wonderful last minute gifts and stocking stuffers. I tried this location for the second time and I'm glad I did. We got the cheeseburger, hot dog, small fries and Chocolate malt. The burger was very good due to the customizable toppings. The hot dog was meh. Nothing special to justify the high price on the hot dog. The small fries were a welcome change from the giant bag of fries I usually get at five guys and they were good. There was a lot of hype surrounding this place and I can't say I was let down. I can't say that every aspect of the Burger blew me away, but I can say that this burger is above average and the quality is there. I like to order a bacon burger with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, jack cheese, mayo and A-1. The meat is juicy and crumbly, the rest is simply average. But it makes for a good meal. One thing I did fall in love with was the Cajun Fries. Their large cut fries are great, but dusted with Cajun Sparkle they become phenomenal. This is definitely a Top-5 Burger for me. My friend brought me here because he said it was better than In-and-Out, but I'm not a fan of in-and-out so my standards were pretty low. The ambiance isn't that great... looks like a cheap cafeteria with bags of flour decorating the walkway? -___- BUT the burgers were freaking BOMB. They give you a numerous amount of free toppings to choose from including your generic lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc... then they have the free special toppings like BBQ sauce, jalapenos, hot sauce, etc. The regular burgers come with 2 patties and the "little burgers" just come with one. Their burgers were super good and their buns are made with the soft white bread. It was super yummy. The cashier also recommended their cajun fries which were just seasoned fries that they put in the cup, but I swear they just dumped a crapload of fries into the bag. The bun is just a bun, not fluffy on the outside and crispy on the inside like In-N-Out. You can squish the bun together very easily, soft bun. 2) The price....cheez...at $5-6/burger for something that looks like you can grill it yourself. This place has a cute diner feel to it when you walk in- kind of like in n out with the white and red checkered squares. It is very simple- just the basic 4 types of burgers on the menu and 2 types of fries. But what I love about it is that you can add so many different types of toppings. When it says small, it means a normal burger with one meat patty. The larger option has 2 meat patties but is basically the same size. I got a small cheeseburger and added grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes, and got regular friends (but tried my friend's cajun fries, too). The burger was delicous except I wish it could be bigger for the price (A little under $5). It is about the size of a palm of a hand. The fries were delicious and they give you a great portion dumped into your bag, but they are plain and simple, lightly salted, so if you like very flavorful fries, you may not like it. I'm not a fan of mushrooms but I have a few friends that are and when I saw this it was surprising since most places would charge extra for that. I have been a fan of 5 Guys since a trip to Washington DC a few years back. I have been very happy to see them popping up all over SoCal the past few years. My wife and kids drove by not even knowing this Huntington location was here... we flipped a U turn and went in for some tasty burgers. We had a simple order, 3 burgers and one large cajun fry. Well, all 3 burgers came out wrong. Not even just a little bit wrong, but way wrong. It seriously looked like they took the 3 burger orders and just threw whatever toppings they wanted onto whatever burger. All the right toppings were there, just on all the wrong burgers. If you have never been here, this isn't Burger King where your burger is ready 45 seconds after you order... its about a 8-10 min wait. Well, they promptly got on correcting our order.... but it was still another 4-5 minutes before we got the new order.... they did WAY better the second time, my burger was only missing the mustard and my wife's burger was only missing lettuce... my son said his burger was right (I think it was more of a hungry 13 year old boy just wanted to eat and not wait for another burger). I didn't bother either, I also just wanted to eat and no mustard wasn't a deal breaker... my wife went up and just asked for a side of lettuce to put on hers. All in all, the burgers are great... the fries are great... just get the orders right. read more

They messed up on my girlfriends grilled cheese. Really, how can you eff up on a grilled cheese? It ain't rocket science. Overall, I would give it another try. It wasn't completely horrible, but I had high expectations that were not met. Some of my friends were comparing Five Guys to In N Out, but I just didn't think it was that great. I ordered a small bacon cheeseburger with everything but pickles. I got a small cheeseburger without bacon, but with pickles. When I went up to the register to let them know they forgot my bacon, they gave me a side of bacon to put on the burger. Okay, I thought, I can put it on. When I unwrapped the foil, the side of bacon was dry, cold and bland. So, I don't know if they just don't cook their bacon fresh, or if they just happened to have that side sitting around for the last 2 hours. I thought the price in general was expensive. I know I'm getting a few extra toppings than I would at In N Out, but I was still not impressed at the price hike. All the extra toppings are "free" but if I was just getting a regular burger with regular toppings, it's not worth it to me. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a burger, I'd rather go to Islands or Red Robin. There wasn't too much that made this burger joint stand out. No special sauce that was their own. I found the ingredients at In N Out taste more fresh. The freshness factor didn't seem much higher than something I'd get at Burger King. I think if In N Out offered grilled mushrooms and bacon, it'd be all over for Five Guys. I guess if I were in another part of the country where I couldn't compare In N Out to Five Guys, they might get a slightly higher rating. But for the price, quality, and service, I'll stick to my tried and true In N Out burger. And if I want to spend more money for a fancier burger, you can find me at Islands or Red Robin. read more
