If you haven't tried Five Guys, you need to. It completely and utterly dominates any mega chain when it comes to overall quality and taste. Better than TK Burger or any other local place. As of right now, it is my second favorite burger joint, In N Out being the first. It tastes nothing like In N Out, it is completely different and its own thing. Fries are awesome as well. They play XM radio classic rock, awesome. The only knock on this place is the price! I'm an In -N- Out diehard fan. So when I heard there was an amazing burger joint down the street I had to check it out. It's a cute and clean looking place with free peanuts and great service. However, the burgers were overpriced and not impressive.I could have made a better burger at home. There was nothing that really stood out to me except their cajun fries. Came once with my mom and a close friend for a girls lunch and we were in LOVE. The price was great, the nuts were yummy, and the biggest perk that I LOVED the most... EVERYONE SPOKE CLEAR ENGLISH and it was an all girl crew that day. I personally feel it is better then In-N-Out. Came back another time with my fiance, and soon to be cousin-in-law and we LOVED it yet again. Amazing service. Then brought my dad back when he came to town (he is a driver so is hardly ever home) he LOVED it. He enjoyed that he could make it how he wanted to. All in all, this place is amazing. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. There were no lines when I walked in and was greeted immediately. They even have free peanuts for you to snack on while you wait for your food. They cook everything in front of you and the place is spotless. Very clean and tidy! I'm very impressed by this place not to mention the food is tasty too. I will be coming back! Yummy yummy fries! I got the spicy seasoned ones...wow! At first, I wasn't super impressed, but then I realized that I finished all my fries and was really bummed that I didn't have any left. Then a few days later when I realized that I was craving the fries, I knew they had something special. I liked the burgers and being able to pick your own toppings. Everything was very fresh. I don't really like the peanuts on the floor, though, and the set up is not great. But I get my food to go and snuggle in at home to enjoy my fries. read more

I love this place - for a great build your own, yummy, messy but amazing Hamburgers and Fries. The food is always fresh, the restaurant clean and the service staff is so nice and friendly and also more than willing to help you out with whatever it is you may need. This team is run by a superstar Andrew Ruddy the General Manager, he sure knows how to keep his customers and staff happy. This place isn't that bad actually. Sorry, it is NOT better than In N Out in taste by no terms. But for ordering vegetarian style, this place has an AMAZING selection of toppings to add to the burger. I literally had everything from mushrooms to jalapenos and onions and could not finish the burger. Very delicious, and cheesy! The only deduction was because of the mistakes they made. I ordered a drink and cajun fries. No drink upon delivery and normal fries. I said fries were wrong size and not seasoned...so I got a larger size in return AND seasoning on the side. Unfortunately for those who know spices, being handed a portion cup of seasoning and a bag to toss the fries in yourself is not the best idea. Fries were waaaay to seasoned to eat without water and not the same, delicate way they do it once the fries are out of the oil. They did redeem themselves however once I finished eating and asked for a brown bag...as I proceeded to take about 3lbs worth of peanuts (hey they cost a lot at the market)! Surprised that this location only has 3 stars. I've been here about a dozen times. Never had a wrong order. Food is always delicious. Bathrooms are clean. Staff is friendly. It's my go-to burger place. My only complaint at all is that since they are on the higher end of fast food pricing, I don't think a tip jar is appropriate. They aren't bringing the food to the table. There is no difference from any other fast food place in terms of service so not sure why a tip is expected. read more

Its been a while since we've had 5 guys. It was delicious. I love that you can choose as many ingredients as you want. I always order the little hamburger with lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, jalapeno and green pepper for the extra crunch. Only thing missing is avocado to make this the perfect burger. read more

This review just for the Huntington location. Staff was friendly, seating is ample, and parking is not too difficult. The burger was not everything I expected, especially for the money, I like the seasoned fries. The fry portions are ludicrously large. It took 2 burger patties to make it a meal, the bacon was soggy and second rate, and the veggie condiments were not as fresh as I would like. The oreo shake deserves a mention, pretty good. Overall, this burger place is a bit pricey for what they offer, just not my choice for a burger place, but give it a try and decide yourself. Have you had five guys before? 8 read more

The burgers are okay. It's nice that you can load up on toppings but somehow that ends up only adding more grease and making it more of a challenge to eat. And don't be surprised if you feel like you are having a heart attack afterwards, that's normal. Think of it as a step up from fast food burgers. I have had friends tell me I HAD to eat here, so I finally did. My general impressions in no particular order: 1) I didn't understand the purpose of the free peanuts they let you eat while they prepare your burger. If they want me to buy fries, why fill me up on peanuts first? Must be an east coast deal. 2) I liked the white board telling me the fries made that day came from potatoes grown in Rigby Idaho. Kinda cool that they knew where their fresh ingredients came from. Now how about a white board for the beef with a big "Bessie" emblazoned on it! 3) I appreciated the ability to customize my burger. 4) I didn't appreciate that when I opened the tinfoil, the bun was soggy with grease. For what I paid, I would have expected more. 5) I was delighted by the helpful smiling faces on every worker in the place. They appear to issue happy pills to their employees. Everyone was very cool. It was a nice change from the "What now?" expressions you often get from fast food staff. Not the worst I've ever had, but it didn't live up to the hype mentioned in all the self aggrandizing reviews posted on nearly every square inch of wall in the restaurant. Garbage, this place isn't going to survive in CA. People on the East Coast are crazy if they think this food is any good. I can make a better burger on my grill. It takes 3 times as long to order here as it does to wash my car by hand. The poor cashiers have to sit there and explain to everyone there are no combos, then each customer tries to decypher the flow chart while contemplating out loud why this is so difficult to order a hamburger. Then when you get your total, a meal for two comes out to almost 20 bucks! Highway robbery at it's finest. I want to preface my review by stating that I'd be more inclined to give 2 1/2 stars rather than 3. So, after hearing an endless amount of jaw flapping over Five Guys and their burgers, I finally got a chance to eat one when a friend informed me that they had a location in HB. In fact, not only did he tell me about this spot, but he also went on to say that he thought their burgers "blew away In-n-Out". Now, that's a bold statement right there, and not one that I take lightly. It would take one goddamn amazing burger to top In-n-Out. You just can't beat their quality and taste for the price. A group of us met here on the way up to a concert in L.A., so this was a good meal to fuel our engines for the long night ahead. I had literally just eaten a burger on campus at OCC before coming here, but I have a voracious appetite so I knew I'd be able to polish off another no problem. Not looking to overdo it, though, I went with their "Little Cheeseburger", which I later found out means that you get one patty instead of two. I got it with "Everything" except for mayo. The "All In" option sounded tempting, but I wasn't hungry enough for all those extra toppings. I think it's great that they offer grilled mushrooms, something I rarely see at burger joints. Everything else on the "Everything" option was your standard fare of ketchup, mustard, onions, etc. I didn't get fries because one of my friends had already gotten a small order of Cajun fries, and the "small" order was massive enough for 4 people. The food came up about as quickly as In-n-Out, maybe even a tad quicker. Aesthetically, it looked simple enough, fairly generic. Same goes for the taste. I don't know what everyone is raving about because this was a decidedly middle-of-the-road burger to me. The bun was soft and fresh, but it didn't add anything to the meal; it was like a cloud wrapped around my patty. In-n-Out has a bun I could eat all by itself because it has a distinct taste and crunch. The toppings were good, but it was almost a case of overkill. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I'd pile everything I could find onto my burger, turning it into a culinary colossus with little regard for actual taste. The patty wasn't flavorful enough to carry this burger, so it required the wealth of toppings to keep my taste buds interested. Overall, I'd say this was something I'd expect to eat in a high school cafeteria. It was far from impressive and I can't say I'd go out of my way to eat one again. Hell, the burger I got on campus at OCC was better. The real star here is their fries. The Cajun fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right, giving them a solid kick without overpowering my mouth with excessive heat. As I said, a small order was gargantuan, so I can't imagine anyone ordering a large unless it was for a big group. I'd be more inclined to return here for some fries and a Coke rather than a burger. They're way to pricey, too. Sorry, but I can get 10x the quality at half the cost at In-n-Out. Here, I got a "Little Cheeseburger" and a drink and it was almost $10. That's just dumb. Nothing about that burger made it worth more than $3, tops. Maybe they're preemptively charging people for toppings they may/may not take advantage of getting for "free", but I'd rather they charged a small fee to have them added a la carte (like maybe $0.10/ea.), but no way is any burger here worth over $5. And to point out what another reviewer noted, I think they've got a bit of a swollen head here with their ego-pumping rave reviews and Zagat guide pages plastered all over the walls. People like your food, I get it. Guess what? I'm already in the building, standing in line, getting ready to place my order. Reading one of the gazillion reviews isn't going to get me any more excited to eat here. Let the food speak for itself. read more

It's not the best burger I've had so far. I got the bacon burger with all the toppings except mustard. The patties were very dry, plain, and weren't that fresh in my opinion. For the price of the burger, I would rather go to in n out or some other burger joint and get a better quality. However, this was not the worst experience I've had. Came in looking forward to a NICE family meal around 9:35 pm . Even left a few dollars in the tip jar since we were the only ones dining in at that time. I thought to try this place out since I heard a lot about it. I ordered a small burger to go, with onions, pickle, mushrooms, ketchup and mustard. How could anything go wrong? What I got was a burger with one pickle, a few onion pieces, more mushrooms, and a whole lot of ketchup and mustard. So much that it was dripping all over the place - on my table, floor, and clothes. Don't they know that condiments are supposed to complement the meat, not overwhelm it? Especially ketchup and mustard. I can't say much about the burger because I really haven't tasted much of it yet. What I got was a ketchup sandwich with a bunch of other stuff. Ok so I have only been to five guys one other time about ten years ago... I walked in I had my order.. waited for it everything was good.. my order took a while to come out but it finally came out.. I guess they always put it in a bag.. I wanted to eat it there but the bag changed my mind because I couldn't even get the burger out of the bag because there was so many fries in the bag.. that was a plus but they were quite soggy.. the main reason I'm leaving 3 stars is the horrible parking lot... not enough spots. Completely crowded and people leaving their cars in the middle of the aisles to go into stores.. completely unacceptable... very dangerous parking lot with careless drivers...
