The over all quality of the food is good and the hand made patties are delicious and the fries come in huge portions. The price however isnt such a great deal, me and my friends ended up paying like 12 bucks each just for a burger and fries. We went to eat and the atmosphere was good, however the young cashier who was taking our order sneezed directly into his hands, then continued to take our order . It's not bad if you're starving, and the free peanuts are a plus but the buns they serve are comparable to generic brand grocery store buns, thin and soggy by the time you get your order. I'm just going to be honest and put it out there right now, but my experience at 5 Guys happened right after a mysterious 3-day long stomach ache, so my stomach wasn't very welcoming of this meal. However, I can say that I will remain unbiased because my appetite for a good burger is undying. So here we go. I'm not one to go hunting for the best burger, but when the opportunity comes I seize it like no other. This was one of those days. A group of us sporadically decided to try out 5 Guys after church, and although I was hesitant because of my stomach ache and the distance, I went because it was an opportunity not to be missed. The location is not the best; it's kind of hard to spot in the cluttered plaza. The place was almost crowded and our group brought the crowd. The line didn't stop, though. Unlike a few of my friends, I found the overwhelming number of "Best Burger" signs on the walls to be promising. I was excited to order my burger as simple as I could get it so that I could taste the goodness of the meat. I actually liked the fact that they don't have a combo option because true burger places (like Father's Office in the best coast and Shake Shack and The Burger Joint in the east coast) don't offer combos. Anyways.... I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and onions. See, minimal. Apparently, though, the mushrooms are what takes the burger to its prime level. It's too bad I don't like mushrooms. And it's way too bad that nothing but the meat should make a burger the best burger. Let me start off by noting how dry my burger was. If your patty's going to be of such thickness for it to be remotely dry, you should give a "how-would-you-like-it-cooked" option. There seemed to be absolutely no seasoning, and every bite was less than mediocre. After I finished about half of my burger, I looked around the restaurant only to find the once promising signs and articles to be nothing but obnoxious and in the words of Buddy the Elf, sitting on a throne of lies. The fries didn't taste fresh and only added sad, unglorified, empty calories to my meal. The best part of my meal was the company of my friends and my cup of...water.... I'd rather spend half of what I spent here on a Big Mac or a Famous Star. And yes, In-N-Out and Five Guys are on completely different spectrums of the burger world but...they are both fast food burger joints.... I can't believe that I just spent over $11.00 for a single cheesburger, small fries, and a small drink at a fast food place! I understand that it's nice to be greeted, offered "free" peanuts, and to be able to customize my burger, but for twice the price for the same quality lunch at In-N-Out just a few blocks away?? Actually, my hamburger bun was smashed and soggy due to being wrapped in foil, so that's actually not quite as good as I usually get at In-N-Out, or even Burger King and Wendy's! There is some attempted forced novelty going on with the slide-open garage door, and the bags of potatoes out in the seating area, but is it worth the higher price? You absolutely cannot miss the self-praising restaurant critic quotes printed on the soda cups, as well as being posted all over the restaurtant. Is that why I'm supposed to be happy with the price? This location, (and perhaps the entire chain) appears to be all about the hype and spin. The food is edible, but secondary to the image that is being very heavily promoted. My friend's dad had been going on and on and on and on (and on and on) about Five Guys and how it was his new go-to burger place. This obviously piqued our interest, so we met him at Five Guys on a late Sunday afternoon. It took me a few minutes to figure out the menu and what toppings I wanted on my burger. I thought it was neat that you could choose any toppings, but this, unfortunately, didn't translate well for my burger. I was excited about the jalapenos, but they came raw with no bite or taste. The mushrooms must've been soaked in water, because they were rubbery and just unappetizing. The cheese barely held the burger and bread together. My burger was a complete soggy mess. I loathe soggy bread, and the bottom end of my bun was more like soggy bread paste. I have no idea how it ended up like that so quickly, and I had no intention of taking another bite to figure it out, either. I didn't bother to eat the meat, because it was so dry around the edges. I moved on to the fries. The seasoning on the cajun fries was so overpowering and gritty that I only got through a 1/4 of the cup. In fact, the cajun seasoning still haunts me today. My friend was even more disappointed with his burger than I was (and he eats anything) and advised his dad that it would be the last time we'd be joining him at Five Guys. I just don't see what people are getting excited about. There is nothing special about these hamburgers and while the portions are generous the prices are high. The peanuts are a nice novelty but they don't overcome the fact that you are still eating in a chain hamburger place and you are going to need a nap when you are done. I give it a 2+ for being clean but just OK. Oh, it seems pointless to me to compare this place to In-n-Out since that strikes me as an apples to oranges comparison. I was fooled by the hype. Big time! Super disappointed on the outcome from 5 Guys for so many reasons. I usually don't review a place until I have eaten there a few times, but the experience was so bad I just had to rant about it. I chose this place for me and my girlfriend to eat at. We take turns picking out a new place to try every week. It was my week and I chose 5 Guys. Haha whoa, did I look like a total loser picking this place. I'll start out with the customer service like I usually do. The lady at the register taking our order was super bad. Not super good like the movie "Superbad" but really. She was so rude, no joke. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and some cajun fries. She repeats my order back to me with an abrupt tone and gives me my total. I'm not even done ordering yet and my girlfriend is clearly standing next to me for whom I haven't ordered for yet. Did she think we were sharing a burger and fries? Why would you assume something like that? It's not that difficult to ask if there's anything else we would like to order. She might have been upset that they were crazy busy, but that shouldn't be an excuse. In-N-Out is usually two times as busy and they're all super friendly, just saying. My girlfriend ordered a little cheeseburger and some cajun fries. They forgot her burger! Should it be our fault for not checking? Not really, it's their job to follow through. She was stuck with only fries on our way home. So at that point, I looked like an even bigger lame-o for picking this place. I ended up getting her food elsewhere cause she was so fed up with 5 Guys. The food was sloppy. Half way through my burger, the hamburger buns were destroyed. Solution to that is toasting them, not sure they're up to speed with it. Yeah some people only care about the taste, but I'd like my food to look nice as well. To top it off, it didn't even taste good. Yeah I get it. It's a fast food joint, but I'm going to say In-N-Out can dish it out fancy like fancy ketchup and it's mad delicious. I can live without their fries. First time at 5 guys yesterday. Grandma took me and the boys for lunch. I thought the prices were a bit high. However the burgers, fries and milk shakes were delicious! Hands down best fast food burgers! Everything was made to order with fresh ingredients. I was here last night with my friends to get some dinner and dick around for the night and when I first walked in I thought, "OMG... NUTS!!!!!!!!!" Tons of peanuts everywhere! Well more specifically the floor... Almost every square inch of the floor I walked on I would hear the crunch of peanut shells giving way under the weight of my feet. Besides that, the restaurant was relatively clean and plain. Walls were simple; they were only filled with reviews from various critics that I didn't care for. I was only here for the food. So forget your opinions, the only opinion I worry about when I entered here was my own damn judgement. No one's gonna ruin this experience for me except for myself. I ordered a bacon double cheeseburger with a bunch of free add ons like lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions (I forgot what the rest of the stuff were) and some cajun fries. It took some time for my order to come out so I took a huge scoop of peanuts and started cracking some nuts. Once I got my order, I sat down to inspect the delicious sight in front of me. Fries all stacked and overflowing from the cup and burger wrapped in foil. I took a sample of a fry and felt a good kick of spicy flavor that left me craving for more. But I restrained myself and headed to taste a bit of the burger. Oh wow... As I bit down I could feel my teeth penetrate through the soft buns, go through the crunchy layers of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and finally enter juicy meaty and cheesy center of the burger. Delicious. I finished that burger almost immediately (I was starving! Give me a break if I didn't take the time to cherish the deliciousness of the burger). Afterwards, I was slowly munching up on the cajun fries that always offered a nice spicy kick with every bite but after a while I felt salted out because under the mask of the cajun spice was, what I consider, an excessive amount of salt. Lots of water and soda helped balance that out and let me open to enjoy more of those fries. Overall, burger was great, fries were great, and prices were a little high. Ended up having to pay $13 for the whole meal. Good place to enjoy occasionally. Tough on your wallet if you keep coming here on a regular basis. At least the peanuts were free. This place is GOOOD. It was my first time trying five guys and man.... It was an amazing experience. I remember back in high school my ap us history teacher told us if we ever wanted to be on his good side, to bring him a five guys burger.. Lol. Pretty funny man. Anyways I got a little bacon cheeseburger "all the way" and added jalapeños to it which added the perfect kick. We also got the large Cajun fries which was plenty for the two of us! The burger was very flavorful and juicy and the fries were AMAZING! Nothing in my heart will ever beat an in n out burger but this place is right there with it. Finally tried this place because it is apparently better than in and out. I wouldn't necessary say that its better, but it is definitely different. I got to try the bacon burger which was HUGE. It comes with two patties and bacon so i would share it if I were you. the best thing about this place is how many FREE toppings you can get. I got mushroom, jalapeno, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onion and it was delicious! The only thing was the fries weren't that great. I got a small order of cajun fries. I enjoyed the seasoning, but the fries were pretty soggy (i like crispy fries). The food kind of took a while, which is why I think they offer free peanuts. The place gets pretty crowded but the employees are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try something a little different. read more

Don't believe the hype. It doesn't even compare to In-n-out. The burger is okay but nothing special. Their burger's have more selection but you pay twice as much to the point you might as well have gone to a sit down restaurant. Probably the most obnoxious thing though, and this is at every 5 Guy's I've been to, the wall's are only plastered with review excerpts touting how awesome they are. This goes beyond laughing at your own joke. Furthermore all of the reviews are from cities with no food culture and whose only answer to quality is quantity. Legit..... about the same price as Fat burger but different..... the french fries are wayyyy better than in n out and the burgers......since it has bacon... I'll give them the edge... They have a simplistic menu with a few more options than their competitor in-n-out buit I just can't see myself paying 13 bucks everyday for a burger, fries and a drink.... I think i'll stick with in-n-out. I had my first 5 guys burger and fries today..it was pretty good. I was surprised to see they had a few different options from in-n-out burger. I liked that they had grilled mushrooms! I missed in-n-out's mustard fried patties, evil spread, and yummy crispy grilled bun. The bun at this place was a bit soggy and mushy but the meat was good. Also, my total was about 10 dollars for a mini hamburger, fries and a drink...which is a few bucks more than in-n-out . And it wasn't that busy but it took 12 min for my order to come out. I have heard the hype, and comparison to In -N- Out, which has been my favorite burger place for decades. I need to put a big qualifier here - I am a vegetarian - I know so where do I get off writing a review on a burger restaurant? Simple I can go to In -N--Out and order a grilled cheese animal style, and it's delicious! So I figured I would try 5 Guys and see what they had to offer us non meat eaters. I go to the counter and asked the cashier if they had a veggie burger, she replied oh yes, we call it a veggie sandwich, so I ordered it. She gave me the choice of several toppings, lettuce, tomatoes,pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo, ketchup and mustard. I loaded up - and added cheese When I got my veggie sandwich, it was a sloppy mess, wrapped in foil, which required a knife and fork to eat. Oh and I should note, there was no veggie patty. I guess they consider the lettuce tomatoes and onions the veggies. I also tried the fries- Cajun style, they were decent, especially in comparison to my "veggie Sandwich". My friend who was from the east coast told me they were opening 5 guys in Huntington Beach and I had to try it and after going there and ordering and seeing my meal come to over $13 I couldnt believe how exspensive it is for just a fast food burger place. Sorry Five Guys, In n Out wins in my books. Went here for the first time yesterday since it recently opened in my neck of the woods, and I guess I shouldn't have come with such high expectations. There was nothing to write home about. The patty was ok; it only took up 2/3 of my cheeseburger and was placed crookedly, which I found bothersome..a bit OCD I know. Everything was just ok. The upside to Five Guys is that all toppings are free, but then again, the price for a burger here is more costly than other places. read more

I stopped in here yesterday because my son saw it is we are running errands in the area. I got a burger for myself, a hot dog for him, fries to share and a shake. The burger was bad, the bacon was more like over cooked bacon bits, also the bun was weird, maybe it was over toasted or just not fresh. The fries were ok but I usually like my fries more crispy and these were soggy, maybe I have to request that. The hot dog was fine and the shake was ok. The wait time was terrible. It took about 20 minutes for my order and it was not busy at all. Overall not worth $20 and wouldn't visit again. read more
