Been to better locations in different cities where I'm usually greeted with a "welcome to five guys" but not here. Had to have them remake my soggy fries and the ones I got back were undercooked inside and tasted like I bit into an actual potato. Interior was clean and burger was ok so there's that. I don't really like fast food and I don't ever really review it. However, Five Guys has the best fast food burgers and fries. They don't have gluten free buns so that is a negative. If you can't do gluten, you have to go bunless and burgers just aren't the same without a bun and all the toppings. So let me rant about my favorite burger place. Ordered through door dash. Ordered 3 burgers and large fry. Received only one burger which wasn't what I ordered at all. The only thing right was the large fry. The other 2 burgers weren't even in the bag. The driver was fast I have no complaints with her. So I called five guys to see if I can go get my order and mind u the bag is taped shut with a sticker. And the order receipt is taped on the bag as well. So I ask to speak to a manager and told her my problem. She then tries to say the driver must have taken two of the burgers out, then she said that she picked up two orders and must have switched the tape because she knows for certain they got my order correct. When the one burger out of the three I ordered wasn't even what I ordered. I then tell her I'm not calling for a refund I would just like to come pick up my full order, which she tells me I need to call the driver and get it from her. I was like I cant come in and get it she said yeah but u will be charged again. Like what great customer service they have, as much as I love their burgers I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS FIVE GUYS IN LAKE CHARLES AGAIN. They have lost a loyal customer for sure. I will be calling corporate tomorrow as well. Door dash refunded me and they were awesome on their end. Everytime I have ordered door dash THE RESTAURANT has screwed my order up some type of way. read more

I'm sitting here right now and I can't believe how different it is from lunch to dinner time. At lunch this place is great, clean, nice and friendly. Tonight the lobby is dirty, people waiting over 20 minutes for orders, they are out of half the milk shake flavors and the staff is not friendly at all. As far as fast food burgers goes Five Guys is probably my favourite. I was driving through Lake Charles on the way to Houston and thought I would stop in for dinner. Unfortunately this was one of the most dismal burgers I've had in a while. The burger was particularly greasy and the fries were soggy and over salted, so much so I couldn't eat them. To top it off their coke machines needs the hoses cleaned as you can taste the bacteria that has been building up inside them in your drink. Went to the Ryan Street store in Lake Charles. Had burger junior and veggie sandwich. Both came out hot and tasty. Cajun fries were a little soft for my taste but perfect for my wife. Had a malted shake and it was also very good. 4th visit to this store and has always been great. There were about 6 staff in the store and my guess is all were under 20. They are all friendly and know how to prepare food so well trained. Will definitely go here for great burgers. Caution: Eat here too often and your size will increase. The free things with shells are peanuts. Did not see a large sign for the snowflakes that they contain peanuts. read more

Love Five Guys! Only issues are the frequency of changing of gloves and THE HAIR. If you touch your face...change your gloves. If you're touching your arms, change your gloves. The burgers are always fairly decent (though I'd recommend eating them there instead of taking them to go since the buns get really soggy and the whole thing turns into a mess pretty easily), and the only time I ever had a problem with my order here they were really fast about making it right. My biggest complaint is a weird one to lodge in Southwest Louisiana...but even on the hottest days of summer the inside of this place is COLD. I mean really, really uncomfortably cold. I'm a guy who keeps his thermostat set pretty cool, but I always regret walking in here without long sleeves and full pants. The chairs and tables are crowded, cramped and uncomfortable too, so eating here is never a great experience beyond the admittedly good burgers. I don't mind the fries as much as some folks, but I do recognize that they're always soggy. read more

I never tried Five Guys before because it seemed like over priced greasy food. And I was right. We spent $30 for two burgers, a large fry, and two drinks - only because the cashier charged us for two drinks even though we only ordered one. The burgers were fine, good, not great. I don't like having two patties just so it seems bigger. I'd rather have one large juicy patty. And the fries... I had heard to order just one because of the amount. I also heard they were the best. They most certainly were not. They were soggy and unedible. This place is definitely over priced and overrated. Still had to wait more than 10 minutes for food ... essentially 20 minute wait for burger no better than a McDonalds Quarter Pounder. Total cost without a drink ... $13.99. Went last night and had the hot dog instead of my usual monster size burger. It was very good. One thing unusual that we saw was there were 2 adults with 2 children around 6 & 7 yrs and they all loaded paper bags to the full with peanuts and left without buying anything. We usually get a paper bowl of peanuts as an appetizer while waiting on our meal but never saw anything like that before. I mean the bags were completely full. I should have asked the cooks if they had an all you can eat or carry free peanut promo. Maybe I can go and stock up on peanuts for the next tailgate party. Always satisfying. More then enough if you handle this burger. Regular fries is all about what you need. I always choose to indulge more cause I enjoy this establishment every time. Usually get burger and fries. Haven't tried other items on menu but from my coworkers and friends. I hear it to be just as good. Only way to find out is try it for yourself. Definitely a good choice we made craving hamburgers! One of the cons, the floor was slippery and the air felt humid/moist. The place is large enough for family or a crew. Depends what side you're sitting on, you might be too close to others. The service is very good. The staff is friendly. The food was very good! Our burgers were thick and had plenty of toppings. The Cajun fries were good, but a little too spicy for my taste and a bit soggy. They were drenched in spice. We will be back to try the other menu items. Fan of Five guys, so glad to see them in LC! Burgers are made to order and you can get whatever toppings you want. The regular burger has 2 patties so I order the little burger which only has 1. I love the cooked mushrooms and onions as a topping. They give you alot of fries, you can split between two people. My daughter likes the grilled cheese. read more

Haven't been in LKCH in a number of years. We were on our way to eat at another place when my hubby spotted Five Guys. He loves to eat there when we visit our son in California. So we did a quick turn into five guys. We eat in Beaumont a lot and things are slow to come there. Just got Panera Bread. Went into five Guys and it was cold, temp outside was 69. Food was good. Patty seemed a little smaller than the patties in California. Fries were more than enough for 3 people from 1 order. Actually seemed like a little more than what we have gotten in California. I am so disappointed!! I usually love five guys, but just an hour ago I pull up and from the car I can see an employee sitting on a table with her phone glued to her ear, I could've got past that however the floor was covered in old smashed fries from the previous crowd that was probably rush hour, it disturbed me that this employee was on her phone for a good 20 mins when the restaurant needs cleaning ok do I love five guys enough to look past that as well. I got my food and started digging in the burger phenomenal but the fries made me sick they had to be cooked in old oil the topping on all this cake is while I am chi wing on these nasty fries two employees wheel out garbage cans overflowing with the days trash. It was 8:15pm they don't close until 10pm why are you wheeling nasty yucky trash by my table during my meal??!!!!!! I SCREAM FOR NEW MANAGEMENT.
