After I converted from being a vegetarian, Five Guys was the first place where I fell in love with burgers - now one of my absolute favorite foods. They are simple and tasty. I get mine with cheese, ketchup, mayo, and grilled onions. As simple as it gets, yet it's still one of my favorite burgers out there. It's dangerous for me to live so close to a Five Guys cause I am craving it all the time! I know a lot of people love them, but I am personally not a fan of their fries. That's the only reason I removed a star. But the burgers are so good that I'm more than willing to head over there just for that! First time I had been to a Five Guys. Heard a good amount of hype about how they make the best sandwiches and all that jazz. Upon entering, the atmosphere was that of IN N Out. Food was good and portions plentiful. Free toppings on a sandwich was a plus. French fries were real. Free peanuts while waiting....priceless. read more

Very clean restaurant upon entrance. Staff immediately greeted me, unusual for a fast food place. Let me know about a new menu item right off the bat. Ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake. Good was ready promptly, shake had great flavor. Burger was greasy juicy deliciousness soaking through and disintegrating the bun. The Fries were hot and crispy, a little saltier than I like, but that is a personal preference. All in all very good, price all told was 14.28. Two observations. First: Decor is dead on to my west coast favorite In-N-Out except for the tables. Second: as good as it is, the fries are better to me than the Ho, but the burger is not as good as Tolly Ho. But speed of food is faster, service is about equal. This is a close second to the Ho for me. read more

I used to love trying various burgers while out at restaurants, but now I simply have decided that 5 guys basically has a monopoly on the burgers I buy. I will still venture and try a burger that seems unique or is the one "must buy" item for a restaurant, but other than that I am more than happy with 5 guys being my go to place for burger. I will concentrating on trying other types of foods while I am out at restaurants instead. This location always has friendly staff and the fries, burgers and shakes are always spot on. They make the quintessential burger that provides all of the necessary grease and cheese to satisfy your cravings and great options toppings. Try it and you will not regret it. read more

Checked out this place based on all the rave reviews from other cities. The choose your own system is nice, they stack the add-ons up to create an appealing look, and the portion is generous enough, but the burger is mediocre: gray and cooked to death. With no char on the burger or seasoning in it, it's not very tasty. My husband picked "grilled" onions and mushrooms for his burger -- both were chopped and cooked in oil, without getting any kind of browning or carmelization, which is kind of the point of grilled onions or 'shrooms. Otherwise, you just have "soggy". Fries are cut from unpeeled potatoes, which I like, and we went for the cajun seasoning. We bought the larger size, which is priced about the same as the single patty burgers, and it was more than enough for the 5 of us. Free in-shell peanuts are a cute touch. Haven't seen these anywhere beyond certain western-style steakhouses. Ambiance is anonymous, which would do fine if the food spoke for itself, but the most memorable decor in the place would be all the HUGE signs on the walls touting how great the food is at Five Guys, quoting newspaper and online review sites and all the 5-star awards they have won (in Cincinnati and elsewhere). It was quiet on a Saturday lunchtime and staff seemed bored -- never a good sign for a new place. For the same $$$ or less, I'd recommend Culver's, Smashburger, Hugh Jass Burgers, or even Back Yard Burgers here in Lexington. All have tastier fare, and if you're going to brag this loudly, you've absolutely got to live up to the hype. read more

Delicious cheeseburgers!! Very fresh food, clean inside as well. It's kinda pricey but worth it! Their smallest order of fries is a big portion. Only wish there were combo meals instead of drinks priced separately. read more

Again I am limited by the no-half-stars system - this is a 2 1/5 star review. The location is fairly easy to get to and the employees have always been nice. As for the food, the fries are ok but the container they are in is generally so greasy as to make quite a mess. They do not stay hot very long but they're reasonably tasty if you eat them quickly (no use trying to carry out) and you like straight hand-cut style fries. But let's face it, you come here for the burgers. They are similarly ok. The standard double patty is a LOT of meat and by the time they get it wrapped up in foil so much grease has seeped into the buns that you'll be using the foil to keep it all together. Taste-wise they are greasy but ok. It's just so, so, so greasy though. A significant percentage of the time that I eat one, I regret it later, if you know what I mean. ;-) The toppings are good and I like being able to get sauteed onions - oh waid, did I mention the grease? There is nothing here that seems healthy - but if you're already in 5 Guys the chances of you actually wanting something healthy are darn slim. It's kind of fun to snack on the free peanuts while waiting, though. By the way, the place has more peanut dust than a Jif factory - beware if you have peanut allergies. read more

Ordered Five Guys thru Door Dash. Door Dash delivery was awesome service. However, the accuracy of orders from Five Guys needs MUCH improvement! Upon being handed our food I could smell a strong spice scent from Cajun fries... we ordered regular fries and due to health issues, cannot eat spicy food. Asked the gentleman with Door Dash to take the fries back and exchange. Our fault for not checking all of the order then (certainly didn't expect all THREE items ordered to be wrong!), but when the correct fries were brought back and we went to eat, we opened our burgers and BOTH of the burgers ordered were wrong. The HAMBURGER had cheese on it... for someone with lactose issues. The cheeseburger that was supposed to have lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo..... was MISSING the tomato and lettuce. At that point, we just done the best we could with the food. First time using Door Dash and we greatly appreciate the driver's patience, but very disappointed with Five Guys! It will be a while before we eat there again. read more
