Twice I have been here and gotten the same awful service. This time the order took about an hour and fifteen minutes. They were short staffed but made the tickets out of order. The manager had a bad attitude and was flippant with anyone who complained stating "That's the way it is." Workers were standing around at times and burgers sat at the expediting table when fries were ready. Would not recommend unless you want to waste an hour. read more

Food here was great. I went for lunch 27/2020 noon. About four hours after eating I started to get food poisoning. I called to notify the place that I got food poisoning and they told me that they did not know what to do for this. This is concerning considering I am sure the company has some regulations in place when someone calls and complains of food poisoning. Over rated on all counts. Walking in, the immediate impression was that a Big Boy threw up in a tile bathroom. It was very noisy, with employees yelling order information both to customers and to each other, and a continuous cat call announcing the number of people entering each time the door entered. I was watching their production system, and it looked OK, but that didn't identify the bottleneck that made it take 15 minutes to get a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and grilled mushrooms. Something obviously needs to be tweaked. For the burger, a large fries, and a large soda I paid over $13.00! Could it be that good...really??? In Short. NO. It wasn't. I felt almost immediate buyers remorse as I bit into the overdone slab of beef that had absolutely nothing special or unique about it. Bland. Ordinary. Where is all the hype???? FIRST TIME - LAST TIME. I was compelled to get some food there after a friend uptalked them. We went on-line to see the menu and saw the on-line order feature. We made our selection and placed the order. I received the email confirming the order and that it would be ready within 15 minutes - just "walk right in to the pick-up window and get your order". I wen to the location which is 5 minutes from my home at the appointed time. I "walked right in to the pick-up window" to get my order. Mine was the only one sitting on the shelf... I could see my name. The cashier rung up the 3 people in line and then the cooks started calling out their names and getting them their orders. Looking directly at me and ignoring me. I stood there silently through two crappy muzak songs while awaiting someone - ANYONE - to acknowledge my presence. Finally after 6 minutes of being ignored, I asked the kitchen staff - all 8 of them - if anybody was going to help me as I had been standing at the counter for over 5 minutes. One person came over and asked "What do you need?" I need my order that I was told to come in and pick up. "Your name?" It's the only one sitting there on the shelf 3 feet away from us. They say nothing and drop the fries into the deep-fryer. Sure enough... they pull them out early to get me out of there - can you say "greasy undercooked fries"? I get my food and a "Sorry"... nothing more. I get home, unpack the 30.00 order for 2 burgers, 2 hot dogs, and 2 fries. BURGERS- greasy to a point where the bottom bun is a sopping mess and inedible; HOT DOGS - kids won't eat a split hot dog that is split down the middle and fried on a grill top; FRIES - as stated before, greasy and undercooked - frozen in the center. Don't waste your time... this business will be gone within a year at this rate. Michiganders want quality for the $$ - not shoddy food that is overpriced. Like I said... This place was not very busy when we walked in on a recent Friday evening. 80's music was playing fairly loudly throughout the restaurant. The order taker was friendly and accommodating. We placed our orders and went and got drinks and seated ourselves. Within a few minutes our number were called and we got our food. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with medium fries and a soda. The fries were hot, fresh, and crispy. The burger was quite tasty as well. Overall, a very good meal. A bit on the pricey side ($14 +) but more fries than I could possibly eat! My first time at a Five Guys and it was good! I was a little concerned because of some of the reviews on here but the burger & fries was really good. I ordered the small single cheese burger with grilled onions, mushrooms & mayo. As another reviewer noted the mushrooms are definitely canned but it was still good. I got the Cajun style fries and they were delish. I was totally impressed with the digital pop machine and the fact that you can flavor your pop anyway you want! I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been hearing all kinds of good things about the food here for a while now. I made my first visit here a couple of nights ago after buying some stuff at Wally world (Wal-Mart). I guess it's not terrible. It certainly didn't live up to the hype. The burgers are greasy! I was up half the night with acid reflux (if you don't have this issue, don't worry about it!). The fries are good and fresh cut...I really enjoyed them. The place is expensive. I was shocked to see the prices! The place is clean and well kept, but not fancy. It's pretty plain, actually...not that this is bad necessarily. As you can tell...my review is all over the place. That's how I feel about it. my wife and I decided to go to five guys in Livonia on Plymouth and Middlebelt road. we walked in and they seemed to be a little busy. we walked to the counter and waited a minute to order and a lady came up to us with an attitude telling us "if you don't have an order already were not taking any more orders". I told her "you do know you close in over 2 hours right" she responded with "I don't care. my manager told me not to take anymore orders". I said "I think you could of handled that with a little more care" she told me "I'm not gonna sit here and argue with you" I said "I'm not arguing with you I just think you could of been a little nicer when you came right over with an attitude like i just ruined your day" she walked away telling us she doesn't care if we like it or not. I have never had an issue with this place before except one time they didn't cook the burger all the way through but they replaced it with no problem and apologized. I think there is a good chance that I wont be going back to this particular five guys because I am a firm believer you should treat customers with the same respect that they treat you. Five Guys in general have great tasting burgers. I've always had a good experience here. Only thing is that it's a little pricy considering that it's technically fast food- just a cheese burger gets you to $5, and that's not including a drink/fries. But the superior taste and quality makes up for the price and makes it worth it everytime. If you like burgers, and have never been here, def. check it out. read more
