Every time I have a Five Guys burger, I forget how great their beef is. Some of the best fast-food burgers outside of In-N-Out. Peanuts are a great touch and they make a grEat lettuce "bun" for a change of pace from the boring white bread version. It had been a long time since I had been to Five Guys. It was definitely an enjoyable meal! My husband and I each got a small size burger and split a hot dog. Both of us enjoyed the burger, although the meat did need a sprinkle of salt. We got the burger with the standard set of toppings, although I got mine on the side. So in an earlier Five Guys review I already let you in on the secret to enjoying a burger here. I'll go ahead and make an assumption that you've either read that review, or don't care. Either way, I am about to fill you in on the specifics of this location., This Five Guys is located in Metairie near, but not in, Lakeside Mall. I normally don't go to Metaire unless I really have to, but I really do my best to avoid the actual mall. So if you are a mall avoider like me, you can still visit this FG. This is a stand alone location although the parking is very limited. Because it's Metaire you need to be careful if their lot doesn't have any spots because your ass will get booted or towed. To avoid a packed parking lot I suggest using their app to order your food at 11 and getting in and out quickly. The store is typical Five Guys. If you have seen one, you have seen them all. I stopped here yesterday because I was driving through on the way back from Kenna Brah. It was right at 11 so I ordered my food and was in and out in under three minutes. That is way faster than most "fast food" joints. My food was prepared just how I ordered it and I had napkins and utensils. Apparently they train their employees to actually check the to-go orders for all that stuff. So if you find yourself in Metry and want a burger with no bun, Five Guys should be on your list. read more

Five Guys has pretty good burgers, so I stopped in the other evening. I usually get the small burger and it's enough. There are plenty of free toppings available. I have gotten bacon which is extra but I was disappointed because it was too crispy and therefore lacked flavor. Along with my burgers, I always get fries. They give an abundance of fries so I opt for the small. Sometimes the fries have a nice Cajun flavor but sometimes they are just salty. There is a drink machine that allows customers to customize their own drinks. They have free peanuts and I always get a scoop or two to eat while I'm waiting. The place is always clean and bright which is wonderful. Employees are friendly and work to get orders complete promptly. The parking is limited but there is always an available space. This is one of the better burger places in the area. read more

We just got some fries and milkshakes when we swung by this Five Guys, but they were delicious! I'm not sure if this is the only location that offers the "cajun" seasoning for the fries or if it is common at other locations in New Orleans, but we loved it! Allowing customers to congregate by the pickup counter without 6 foot distancing. Received my food cold since no one called our number out. We waited 25 minutes then realized our food was sitting on the counter being exposed to customers within inches of our food. There is parking on the side and in the back of the restaurant. Walking in up the handicapped ramp, there is outdoor seating to your left. Walk in and to the right, if there is a line, get in line, though the last time I came, there was no line. Everything is cooked fresh to order. Once you place your order, your receipt will have your number on it, and you will pick your food from the other end of the counter when your name is called. I ordered the small burger (which is still HUGE and on the pricy side), small order of fries (which could easily feed 2-3 people) and a soft drink. The dining area is brightly lit and clean. You can get a container of shelled peanuts if you want. I honestly think they should make an even smaller burger and order of fries for those eating alone and can not eat the entire regular order. Management seems NOT to care about this PANDEMIC.  As of today, there are 28,001 confirmed cases in LA, 5,802 just in Jefferson Parish!   I was an avid customer, and believe me - like many other people would rant about their burgers, but this is not about their product, NO PRODUCT is worth anything when it's not handled safely. Kids working that are kids and childish - expect that from a kid not wanting to wear a mask or properly wear one because he doesn't have sense [yet].   A full ADULT manager NOT doing anything after at least 2 customers brought this to his attention - IRRESPONSIBLE. A company that doesn't care about things like these - well, anyone that reads this will decide.  I can certainly say that we're not going back - if you can't follow a life-or-death health issue that's imminent, what does that tell you how they follow normal every-day cleanliness? Disregarding the proper wear of face masks and STILL NOT DO ANYTHING about it after 2 SEPARATE customers is irresponsible!  People were inside the store on May 1st, 2020 that included senior citizens.   How can you support businesses when they're clearly not caring and at this point is greed rather than a business trying to do business?  This place may have new management perhaps.  Who knows.  But, what's for sure is that this management is careless with their patrons' well-being.   You are serving food, and that should be more than enough to be careful and clean, but if you don't enforce a health issue that's here now, what is one to think when a pandemic is not issued? read more

I was really against 5 Guys for a while. The first time I tried 5 Guys, I was really underwhelmed. I tried the Elmwood location, and it was really greasy and dissatisfying. I recently tried this location, and it was the complete opposite of my first experience. I catch myself craving 5 Guys like once a week now. The food just seems better at this location. Don't get me wrong, the food is still greasy, however, it's not a disgusting greasy. The staff is always polite and the workers seem to enjoy what they do. They honestly seem to work as a team and have a good time while they're working. My only gripe is the overpowering seasoning of the Cajun fries. Why do I like Five Guys burgers? Because they are simple and perfect in every sense of those words. No frills. No TVs. Nothing to stare at except a deliciously greasy bag of hand cut fries and well stacked burger. Free toppings are a huge plus. I like to keep it simple on mine: Cheese, lettuce, toms, pickles ketchup, mayo, mustard and of course, bacon. It reminds me of the burgers my mom would make. Simply perfect. I am certainly a fan of the Five Guys concept. They are always super efficient, their restaurants are always clean, their staff is friendly, and man those burgers are just awesome! I was super excited when I spotted a Five Guys being built on Severn since it's close to my neighborhood. I waited ever impatiently for it to finally open. There are a lot of things to love about Five Guys: the free peanuts, the cajun seasoned fries, the speedy pace of their burger making skills, etc. But I think the best part about it is that I can order all the toppings I want and it doesn't cost me a cent! I personally love to order it with the "all the way" toppings (which comes with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup and mustard).....but there are other really worthy contenders such as jalapeños and green peppers on the list too. I loath these trendy "fresh burger" concept restaurants that nickel and dime you to death for every topping...and then you end up spending like $12+ for a hamburger by the time you are through. But Five Guys does it right: You pay for the burger and you can top it off to your heart's desire! Get a few toppings....get ALL THE TOPPINGS (it might be pretty messy but the point is...you CAN do it if that's what your feeling). Price-wise Five Guys really is a steal! There are a few other restaurants that do the free loaded toppings concept, but even Mooyah is actually slightly more expensive than Five Guys (not much more expensive but...I've done the math). To be noted here, the regular hamburgers ARE actually double stack burgers and if you get a regular hamburger fully loaded with all the toppings it really turns into a MONSTER of a burger that probably very few people could finish on their own. Most people don't realize that the "little burger" is actually a normal single-patty-burger here. Also, the regular size fries can easily be split up amongst two people. The portions here are pretty big so just keep that in mind. It is really easy to over order when you are a newbie to Five Guys. Speaking of the fries...the cajun seasoned fries are INCREDIBLY.... what is the word...."cajun-y?" They are SUPER salty so good thing you get those free refills on your drinks. As salty as they are, I find them really addictive even though I can practically feel my fingers swelling up as soon as I come within 5 feet of their general vicinity. I appreciated that the staff seemed especially friendly and the manager was very hands on with the customers at this particular location. Although they weren't very busy at the time, the manager did take the time to come over to our table to check on how we were doing, and he even took the time to chat with some other customers and answer all their questions about the history of Five Guys and how it all got started. I anticipate that this particular restaurant will do really well being in close proximity to Lakeside Mall and there will most likely be lines out the door just like in their Mid-City and Elmwood locations once the word gets out. read more

I love that you can do burger bowls here!! Double bacon cheeseburger with raw jalapeños is my go to. They don't have a very big menu, they keep it sweet and simple. And that's ok. Everything is cooked to order and nothing is sitting under heating lamps. Fresh is best. Worth a try. read more

Definitely an awesome burger joint. When we walked in we were just taken aback by how clean and nice the place actually looked. Every single worker was a complete joy. The lady who took our order was as sweet as could be. The cooks were cutting up with my toddler. There was a manger helping and checking on all of the customers. Even the lady cleaning tables had a smile on her face and greeted us. The burgers themselves were delicious. Super fresh and tasty. The French fry orders are huge. 2-3 people could share a medium.
