Working in a kitchen that sells a $26 burger( with fries) this is not a post about the price but yet the quality. the sear on the burger was magnificent. the bun is the average potato bun. the fries were bought from restaurant depot. this makes me wonder if the meat is also from the depot. the patty was aggressively seasoned. the cheese options are non existent. i had one slice of tomato and three slices of pickles. i try to dress my burger where every bite consists of all flavors. also i paid for bacon thinking that it would enhance the burger. It did not. one broken piece that was nicely cooked. they ran out of Brussels and ketchup to go. the napkins were c-folds just placed on a table. Atomic burger, Backyard nola, Shake Shack, Company etc are much better at the moment. I would go back to try again. read more

The food itself was good. I had a smash burger that tasted like a classic, old-fashioned burger with a well-done smash patty, though it could have used a bit more sauce. The fries were good as well, just on the thinner side. Service was great and I had no issues there. However, cleanliness is where this place loses stars. The food trays were stored outside in a crate next to the trash can, which was concerning. The outside tables were a bit dirty, and the inside was uncomfortably hot to eat in. Overall, my main concern was food sanitation more than anything else. Because of that, I'd have to think about returning and would possibly consider trying a different location that may be cleaner. read more

Came here to eat with some friends and we ended up eating both inside and outside because it's so cute both areas! The food was delicious Burgers and chicken cooked to perfection. Of course there was a bit of wait because there was so many of us but besides that we talked to the workers as we waited and had a great time as they were very friendly and personable. Burger Nerds makes an extremely crisp and crunchy smashburger style here. I'm not a big fan of these smash style burgers that are crunchy and crisp but many people seem to love them. They have opened in Metairie now in the old Poboy King spot. It is an alright burger but just not the style I prefer. I like a big 1/2 pound patty that is cooked medium and full of juice and great beef flavors. I liked their location at Courtyard Brewery better and I miss Poboy King. This new location seems very popular. Hey Yelp moderators stop deleting my reviews over ridiculous accusations that I posted the same experience to multiple reviews. I very clearly have pictures for very different locations proving I was at different locations. The food is the same at the locations and my review of the food is the same for those locations (even though I hoped for improvement). If I'm magically posting a duplicate review then delete my pictures as well that are totally different for each location. Yelp has deleted so many of my reviews for NO valid reason over and over and over and over.... Seems to mainly be when I give a less than good review of places that advertise with Yelp... I guess I thought the name Burger Nerds would come with a variety of burgers. There were only 2 burger options. Got the regular smash burger and fries. Hello to the burger of my dreams... I barely took pictures because when the food got to my face it was the first time I thought "phone eats second" . The meat itself was smashed to perfection with caramelized onions and the perfect sauce. The buns were buttered deliciously and were the perfect parting. The space is small on the inside but there was outdoor seating. It is def a place that is mainly togo. Service was quick and food was fresh! For the good: Very friendly welcoming place. Good service Not so good: The shoestring fries very basic, good for little children. Totally lacking in flavor. Really not so good: The burger! It was well smashed, but of very poor quality beef, no flavor profile at all. I had the double and honestly if I was blindfolded I might not know I was eating a burger except for the smell. Lettuce, onion and pickles and cheese ok but nothing great. The really bad: The shake. Just. Don't. Get. It. Awful. How can someone truly make ice cream & chocolate awful? They use straight out of the plastic squeeze bottle Hershey's chocolate syrup. Some off-brand vanilla ice cream. They mix it up in the blender and there ya go - a "shake". I only had a few sips. Awful. Rip Off. The verdict: I wanted to like this cute place, but for $20+ bucks I will never go back there. Too many nearby places have quality hamburgers so save your money and just drive on by. The cashier on 5/3 at 4:28 greeted us immediately. We were pleasantly surprised it wasn't crazy busy. It's our 3/4 time trying to come. We all got burgers and fries. We waited almond enjoyed the yummy smell. The service team were in sync. He cleaned the grill between rushes. I'm impressed and we have not eaten yet. Easy lil burger joint. Not fancy but efficient. Loaded fries that were supposed to have bacon but they didn't have bacon and they didn't tell us and we got two orders and that cost$6 extra. I finally got to try Burger Nerds! Im so glad they opened up a spot in Metairie( next to CVS near Bonnabel). We wanted the whole experience since this was our first time so we ordered a single & a double signature queso burger, brussel sprouts and loaded fries. Burger- loved the crispy edges, soft potato bun, perfect size(I ate the single) and the queso added the perfect craveable touch. I was actually skeptical of queso on a burger that their recipe is awesome. Now all I think about is that queso! Brussels- obsessed! Even our 3 yr old couldn't stop eating them. Fries- As a self appointed fry connoisseur, they were pure perfection. Just the right size and amt of toppings. Have your fork ready! Customer service- this puts them over the top honestly. Its an open kitchen and everyone was smiling and genuinely happy the entire time. Super accommodating and made us feel appreciated. The staff are total rockstars - when we called to check their closing time, they told us they'd stay open to take our order. I had heard of burger nerds and since I was in the mood for one I figured I'd go to closest to me in metairie. It's a straightforward menu which suites me fine and naturally I went for the classic as one would when trying a burger specialty eatery for the first time. The burger was good or ok. Truly nothing special. As a whole it tasted good BUT only because of I think is a sauce? And the grilled onions on it. The Pattie itself was bland but again as a whole with the dressings it was good. I can't say that this burger is special or outstanding. NOW for some harsh reality. I opted for the double Pattie $15!!! The single is $12 in my opinion that's a ridiculous price BUT I'm sure there's always a reason. I reluctantly got the fries $4 I wish I didn't No drink and so now it's $19 for a burger and a portion of fries that was about the size of a kids meal. $4! Sorry but that's more like a $2 side. $25 later (I left a $2 tip) looking back, it's just too expensive. No drink. I think at $12 or $15 it should come with that side of fries. Skip the fries save the $$ other sides looked too expensive too. It's a hole in the wall burger spot (not an issue ) but the pricing is ridiculous for what you get. I won't be going back but curios to know how others feel. $25 I can get a boutique burger WITH fries and a genuinely top notch meat with a taste to it. My final thoughts : double Pattie dressed with fries $12-$13 tops! Single Pattie with fries $10 Give me that pricing I may reconsider. I can't recommend this place knowing how much you'll spend but one can only give an opinion if one pays and tries. read more
