This place is adorable, great music, nice servers, food comes out quickly. The frozen drinks are stellar - I got the blackberry margarita today and it's tasty and not just a slushie, it actually tastes Iike fruit and you can feel the booze but it's not harsh.

SUPER yum special, the Mardi Gras dog. We popped in after the parade last weekend. They were slammed, but everyone was welcoming and kept the crowd moving. And the dogs?! Sweet baby in a king cake -- all the yums. We definitely recommend!

Excellent, excellent hot dogs and sausages. We also got the tots topped with "WTF," which is chili, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, and onion. This was the perfect meal to eat after a night of strolling and drinking before heading home.

The Chicago dog was great. This was a great late night stop on the way back to our hotel. However, it took an hour for my friends hotdogs to come out. We ordered back to back so that was a bit frustrating. The hotdog was good overall besides it being cold due to waiting.

Pretty solid hot dog. Generous toppings and a good flavor for the meet. Kind of expensive for a hot dog though. I got the bacon werewolf.

Darn good hot dog. Counter service was friendly. Just passing through town and friends I was visiting said this was their go to for darn good dogs. Onion rings were ok would have been better if they were hot. Nice vibe and TVs inside and out for the sporting crowd. I ordered the only dog with Cole slaw and was disappointed in the amount of topping on all of our dogs. The quality of the meats is tops notch but the topping needs some work.

I'm not a huge hot dog fanatic but man this place hit the spot late night on Frenchman street! They handled the roudy crowds well and was very affordable.

Favorite place for a late night bite on Frenchman. 10/10 recommend anything on the menu.

Had the bacon werewolf special and it was pretty damn good. The bun was toasted perfectly with my only complaint being it split in the middle so it fell apart a bit. Personally, I don't love an overstuffed dog/sandwich/burger but the flavors were on point. Oh and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. Service is friendly and nonchalant. All in all worth a stop!

Stopped by The Market at Dat Dog on a super rainy night, and it was pretty empty when I walked in. I was craving a veggie dog and this place had great reviews. You order at the counter, then they bring the food out to wherever you're sitting. Super easy and laid-back. The hot dog was one of the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and just really satisfying. Service was great too. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I mentioned I have an egg allergy, and they immediately knew which items had eggs and which didn't, which I really appreciated. All around, a delicious meal and great experience. Would definitely go back next time I'm in NOLA!

Not a single complaint in the taste category. Even the bun was perfect for such girthy meats and all those toppings!!! It's interestingly decorated with a few comedic relief pieces of decor. The booth seating could be improved but won't deter from enjoying your food. The staff were all present and seemingly doing their own thing while working so not much engagement with them but no complaints either.

There are multiple locations but we tried this one on a night out drinking on Frenchmen Street; Although many of the clubs serve food this is a a well lit break from that scene. Friendly service all around. Very cool, chill atmosphere ( a lot of graffiti art) with booths, tables, or countertop seats available. Of course you can still keep drinking here, there are so many items to eat. So they also serve burgers, salads, & platters as well as fish & vegan items ( i.e. a breaded codfish shaped into a hot dog on a bun). But the main draw is the hot dogs ( all served on toasty sourdough rolls) They serve 10 types from a good old Vienna-style hotdog to duck, alligator, and crawfish sausages and brats. There are dozens of toppings to build your own but they have some cool signature dogs such as the : -FLYING PIG: ANDOUILLE SMOKED SAUSAGE, ANDOUILLE SAUCE, CHEDDAR CHEESE, GRILLED ONIONS, BBQ SAUCE, YELLOW MUSTARD & BACON ( a big mess of comfort goodness) -BACON WEREWOLF: SMOKED BRATWURST, BACON, DILL,RELISH, SAUERKRAUT, GRILLED ONIONS, TOMATOES & CREOLE MUSTARD The corn dog was just ok; When in need, indeed, try the dawgs here or grab them to go after a night out.

    Etouffee Special

I came here before heading to the French Quarter with friends. I got the Etouffee Special and liked it. The hot dog was flavorful and well-cooked, different from the hot dogs I've had. I loved all the toppings. The only problem I had was the wait time. I waited about 20 minutes for my order. If you don't mind the wait time, you should check out this place!

The presentation of the food came was amazing. We ordered the linguine and added meatballs, which was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp & grits, which included Brussels sprouts. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. It is a little on the pricey side, but after several days of eating in the touristy area of the French Quarter, this was truly a welcome change. Service was polite and attentive. I always appreciate the staff's efforts by making simply making eye contact and smiling (which they did). Seems trivial but I think those small things says a lot about a business. I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not a guest of the hotel.

The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!

My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

We shared 5 small plates - the crawfish bread - crawfish inside a crispy, flaky croissant like bread - OMG deliciousness. Then the tufa crudo - so fresh and flavorful, the crab tartlets - fine, but not as good as the other dishes; excellent salad, and the broccolini in a housemade horseradish goat cheese sauce - wow; one of the best broccolini dishes we have had. The carrots looked amazing, too. What a treat!

I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better.
