Worse burgers we have ever had! Had to wait 20 mins to get our food. Burgers did not have any flavor or seasoning. A little salt and pepper would have gone a long way! I got sautéed mushrooms on my burger. NO FLAVOR! Sautéed in butter with some salt would have made them taste like....something! They were conservative with the Mayo. I barely had any on mine and my husband didn't fair much better. The only thing that had any flavor (and that's because salt was added) were the fries. I'm not saying they were great. They were not. I dine at Five Guys Frequently throughout the country and this was this store was the worst I have ever been. Burger was cold (cheese was not melted), dry, and bun was stiff and dry. Bacon was burnt. A Five Guys Burger usually melts the in your mouth. Not this one. Fries were all short, overcooked, and cold. I dined at the restaurant, so the food was supposedly fresh. Restaurant was clean at least clean. The quality did not live up to price or the standard of the other stores. The food is always Hot and worth the wait with quite possibly the best french fries in the area. This is due to them being made from real potatoes. Five Guys never disappoints when it comes to both burgers AND fries. The menu is simple and easy to navigate. I love that you can build your own burger with no extra cost for toppings. The burgers are always perfectly cooked and deliciously cheesy. Don't even get me started on the french fries. First of all, they always give you more than you expect which makes it feel like you are getting a gift from the fry gods each time you go. They are salty and crispy and soooo YUM. Another cool thing is they have one of those fancy shmancy pop machines that lets you make crazy flavors (raspberry vanilla coke anyone?) which is fun and unique. You know what else I love? The service. Every time I have gone in here the staff is cheery and helpful. Even with a line out the door they are pleasant and calm. Love you Five Guys!! read more

Amazing!! My husband and I have been skipping this place for years thinking "yeah burgers , had em" we were wrong! We were out late and starving and decided what can it hurt let's check it out. We went in and the worker at the counter was so friendly and explained how they do toppings- all their toppings NO EXTRA COST! Same with the milkshakes! They encourage you to pile on as much as you want. They have the cool soda machines where you can get anything imaginable and while you wait for your order complimentary peanuts. The burgers were amazing! I had the whole top row put on mine. Let me just tell you the fries are awesome! And they really pack em in there too we ordered the large to split cause it was huge. Ordered 2 burgers for curbside pickup over the phone. Very friendly customer service. Food took 30 minute customers were showing up after us and still managed to leave before us, I went into the building to see what was up and was told they were just eating on fries. Went back to my car to wait another 10 minutes, food finally got to us and the Fries were under seasoned and soggy. While in town for ND's graduation, my husband and a friend and I decided to try Five Guys. I'd seen good things about it on Yelp and was eager to taste these burgers. Let me tell you, they were quite delicious. I got a "little" cheeseburger (which is really just a normal cheeseburger) with grilled onion, pickle, tomato and mustard. The three of us shared a large fry, which was huge. The burger was juicy, with just the right mouth-feel of fat without being greasy, and very flavorful. Love the variety of toppings. The fries were fresh and hot and great with a little malt vinegar. I had been under the impression that cajun was standard, but it's not, so we'll try that next time. And there will be a next time, because I am now a fan of Five Guys. I will say this, though -- it's not cheap, which is why it doesn't get five stars. The burgers are large and tasty, but for two burgers (one regular, one small), a large fries and two drinks, it was almost $18. Still, it was mighty delicious and fresh and tasty... so I will be going to the Chicago area's Five Guys when we want really good burgers fast. read more

Peanuts available for munching while waiting for your order. The chairs were all wood & hard. The food, however, can easily make up for any of the above shortcomings. Burgers were fresh & juicy. Not perfect, but very good!! The soft drinks are self serve with refills. They have those "design your own soda" with all possible flavors, such as Diet cherry vanilla Coke and grape or peach Sprite. I've been to 5 guys in UP mall about 3-4 times but it's been awhile since I've been back so I decided to give it a go and write a review. Going in I had a very favorable opinion of 5 guys, having been there on a few occasions before. I brought my wife with me for a quick dinner date. it was her first time with 5 guys. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with Grilled Onions, Mayo, lettuce and ketchup. She ordered a Cheeseburger with "everything". When she started on her burger it was the biggest mess I've ever seen on a burger. I "get" what they are trying to do with the foil wrapping, but in this case it didn't do anything to help her perception that this was a "dive" hamburger joint. Although it was a little sloppy she thoroughly enjoyed her burger. My burger was fantastic.The best part for me was the bun, it was VERY fresh, and soft. The burger was seasoned to perfection! I don't know If i would go out on the limb and say that 5 guys has the best burger (although zagat and numerous other places have as they conveniently remind you at every turn), but it's really good none the less. I think one of the reasons that has kept me from coming back is the mental perception that it was expensive, and tonight's dining experience didn't help that mental block. Although the burgers were great, I would say they were about $1-$1.50 overpriced. Another frown on the experience was the noise level. The music was so loud it was difficult to have a conversation with my wife without feeling like we were shouting. That's unacceptable for any dining establishment whether its "fast food" or "fine dining" Overall if your looking for something quick, and a little bit different then your average fast food fare, I recommend giving 5 guys a try. Five guys is fabulous. I love the high quality beef, great sizzle on the patty, and the ability to pick whatever toppings I want (ketchup mustard onion pickles and extra mushrooms). At this five guys in particular the staff were incredibly friendly and I had THE BEST cook on a French fry I've had anywhere in my life. Gordon Ramsey would have approved of these fries. They were limbed in golden brown, perfectly crisp on the outside and buttery inside. These had been fried so perfectly there was no oil or grease on the fries, your fingers were perfectly dry. You have to nail the time and temp to achieve that kind of perfection. Three cheers for the fry cook! read more

This is not a review on their food which has always been fine but about my experience with online ordering. I placed an order for two burgers and a small fry and received an email that said it would be ready at 12:02. I walked in the door at 12:02 and was planning to eat in my car with my daughter. I walked in and stood there for a few minutes without being acknowledged and finally asked where to get online orders. She asked my name and then looked at a bag that apparently has my two burgers in it and told the fry cook I get a small fry. He then drops the fries in the fryer. WHAT?!? Why would they wait till I got there to drop my fries? So while my sandwiches sit there getting soggy and cold I wait 8 minutes for them to make my fries. THEN he hands me a bag of fries and I said I have two burgers, too. He says oh those were for a different Angie and TAKES THEM BACK! I said can't I just have those fries and my burgers and go and he said no I'll make yours and I said but I have already touched that bag and they said they could put them in a different bag! At this point I am controlling myself for fear of being videotaped and put online being called a Karen so I kept my mouth shut. I FINALLY got in my car 15 minutes later to what I knew I would find. Lukewarm and soggy burgers that had fries and 20 ketchup bags on top of them. Online is supposed to make things faster and more efficient but I would have been better off ordering there and waiting. Great food, loved it! Will definitely go again. My wife and I ordered one veggie burger, one small cheese burger, one hot dog, one order of Cajun fries, and two drinks for about $18 and had more food then we knew what to do with. They also offer free shelled peanuts that you can help yourself to and eat while you wait for your actual order. That being said there are a few things to keep in mind... First they do not have great parking right outside of the restaurant, since it is part of the mall you may have to walk a bit to get the the door. :( Second it is a small loud place so if you plan on eating there it might be hard to find a table and it can get pretty loud because there are no walls or anything separating the kitchen staff from the rest of the restaurant (so you can see everything, but you can also hear everything). Finally, when they say Cajun Fries they are not referring to cheap curly fries with a little seasoning, they are definitely seasoned well. My wife could not eat more then a couple and I was not able to finish the rest of them. read more

I got all stoked up about going here and was quite let down. The burger was nothing special in the slightest bit. Standard fast food meat, tasted about the same as Hardee's or BK. Fries were better than fast food - good potato flavor, but I agree with the other reviewer that they wimp and gimp when handled like a fry should be handled. Prices are same as sit-down burger joint and you can't get beer. I'm pretty bitter about the place... Since moving to michiana, I haven't had a good burger.
