Damn, I'm surprise this place doesn't have better reviews for their quality of burgers. I will admit it's not exactly a cheap fast food place but the quality is definitely high and the taste is great. They really hook it up on the fries and their fries see him more natural than a lot of fast food places, also they have an interesting appetizer you can serve yourself with which is peanuts. I can't figure this place out. They make a burger to order with anything u can imagine on it. You order a small fry and the bag is always full . A small drink with free refills. Fast food places with HOT DOGS are rare, so I looooooooooooove five guys. The best way to describe their food is this: Outdoor grill party with friends That is exactly how it tastes. It doesn't taste like fast food at all. Their burgers aren't my fave but they're still really damn good burgers... but I go for the glorius bacon covered hot dog. Also don't get the fries without the Cajun seasoning. They're amazing with it and literally falt out gross without it? SOMEHOW.. they're ADDICTIVE with the seasoning and they always give you an assload of fries too. It's great. Normally this place doesn't miss a beat. The food is always great however, there was a hair in my daughters burger. No big deal really it's gross but it happens. The manager was responded well and then the staff failed to remake the burger. We visited this restaurant on our way to Guernville. We stopped around 12:30. The restaurant was so dirty. This was not just dirt from the lunch rush but down right filth. From the area that you order, the ketchup bar, to the bathrooms. All the tables were gross. In the time that we were there, not one employee stepped out into the lobby to wipe things down and it was not busy. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and when we approached the front counter to let them know, they seemed like we were putting them out. Will not go back. read more

I went in yesterday afternoon and this restaurant was a huge mess. Burnt patties sitting on the grill, trash all over the kitchen floor, the french fries were being burnt and I received my order with the wrong toppings and they all came with with crispy patties. I have been coming here often this past year since the start of covid and had no issues with the old crew of the young men that worked the afternoons. They always had excellent service and even though they would sometimes takes a little long due to how busy they would get they were always friendly and made us feel welcome inside even though we were not allowed to dine in. read more

I usually take my kids here once every few weeks for a quick bite, I will no longer be doing that. I went in today and what is usually fast and friendly service was the exact opposite. Everyone was work at a snails pace today and none of the employees were acting as if they wanted to be there. Not only did I receive eye rolls from the young girl working I received a sub par burger. The lettuce was wilted and the burger felt soggy. This will be the last time I eat at this establishment. They really need to work on customer service here, I don't appreciate catching attitude from a pouty teenager that doesn't feel like having to work. read more

I took my granddaughter in today and I was throughly disgusted! There was not one clean table although only one table occupied. The floor was so dirty we actually had to walk over fries, napkins and just trash to get to a table. I would not have even order but walking in the door we walked up and ordered before seeing the filthy surroundings. I got a grilled cheese that was horrible. I took a bite and threw it away. While we were sitting there a couple came in and had to ask them to clean a table. The girl cleaned the tables and chairs with the same cloth and just let the food drop to the floor. Five Guys opened in Petaluma around 2014 when the shopping center opened. It was great and often packed. Yes, it's more expensive than In-N-Out, but you get more toppings here, a hot dog option, and the amount of fries they give you is ridiculous. However, in the last year to 6 months, things seem to have gone downhill noticeably. When you walk in, the dining area will be filthy with many tables covered in leftover peanut shells, napkins, or even the remnants of someone's entire meal that was left behind by some inconsiderate patron. The soda machines are always sticky and probably aren't cleaned often at all. Frequently they have run out of the little cardboard peanut containers leaving patrons to improvise with napkins or ask for a cup or something. On my last three visits (each about 2 weeks apart), they've messed up my order somehow. The first time, they gave my wife and I THREE burgers. Not sure where they got the idea we wanted three, but it was on our bill so we had paid for it and didn't notice until the burgers were handed over. The second time, I ordered just ketchup and mustard on a bacon burger. I got what looked like lettuce, mayo, grilled onions, and cheese on a double-patty burger. They apologized and re-made it. This third time, I had mayo, ketchup, mustard, and bacon on a double cheeseburger...but they gave me that also with grilled onions, mushrooms, what might have been A-1, and who knows what else. They re-made it. They also forgot I ordered a milkshake until I asked for it. With the frequent mistakes and the dining room that's completely embarrassing, I'm not surprised that the place isn't as busy as it once was...while In-N-Out continues to thrive. They need to (literally) clean up their act. Also, they should really put the soda machines at the end of the counter so you can fill up your cup and THEN continue to move right to get a lid and straw...instead of having to go all the way to the door to fill your cup and then backtrack to get a straw and lid. read more

Went here on Labor Day, they were super busy. Only three people working. One at the register ringing customers up, one cooking and the other one preparing the food, and getting it ready to hand out to the customers. Billy was on register he was great, cleaning up the lobby in between customers and grabbing a 50 pound of potatoes and cutting them in mins. Yes the lobby was messy and took 30 mins for the food. When we got our food, it was super good and filling. Billy was a great example of great customer service. Very nice to customers and made sure they got their milkshakes and anything else they needed. read more

While I do think the food is really good, she staff here needs to clean up more around the dining room. Very slow when I went in and staff of three guys were talking behind the counter. Still took over 15 mins wait for my pre- app order to be ready. 15 mins longer than the predicted time. Didn't see any sense of urgency behind the counter. As far as the cleanliness of the dining room goes, peanut shells dropped around doesn't bother me. But almost every table had crumbs and water drips on them. read more

This place has such amazing burgers! I got the small hamburger with basic tomato, pickles, mayo & mustard. My mom got the cheeseburger. I did find the menu confusing at first where you get to choose your toppings. I like menus that are quick and more specific. Your paying close to 20 bucks for a damn burger. I can get the same taste at in and out for much less. Everything is sold separate. Burger is like 12 bucks and fries and a drink add an extra 8. Alrighty, well, I like to state positive things about a review before I mention the poor things. With that said, this was my first time dining here with my partner and we came in around 12:55pm today (6/9/15) and left around 1:20pm. When we came in, we were 1 of 3 customers inside. The kid at the counter was younger, with a mustache and tan complexion, he was friendly and quick putting our order through; not much to say about him. I went to get my drink and my partner is walking around the place, looking for a table to set our stuff down and sit. When I turn around from the condiment table with my drink and ketchup, my partner is just standing there. I ask what he's doing and he said that all the tables & chairs were dirty. I thought it was quite a remark, but he was right. So he grabs a couple napkins and wipes a table clean of crumbs and drink rings. As we're waiting, we're noticing that NONE of the 3 employees are cleaning the establishment. 2 are on the cook line, and one is missing. He is tall, skinny, tan complexion as well and brunette. We see him come out from the back with blue cleaner and paper towels and head in the bathroom. Ok, that's cool, a lot of places don't care about their restroom, so I appreciate the diligence. Next, he passes ALL the dirty tables to wipe the door (from what I assume is supposed to be free of fingerprints), but we watch him smear them without a smidge of elbow grease. Next, he walks by with a rag and a spray bottle and just kind of, "dusts" the visibly dirty tables. Not wipes or sanitizes, dusts. Doesn't push in the chairs, doesn't clean the tables, doesn't sweep, (and no, there were no peanut shells on the floor, just dust and crap.) It's hard to enjoy a delicious burger watching someone in the food industry have absolutely no regard for cleanliness. Lastly, there were like, 2 orders of EXTRA fries in our bag and we sadly wasted them because we weren't going to eat all of them! I have always been taught in every job I've worked, that especially in the food industry, with down time, clean! Sanitize! C'mon, have some work ethic, please. I also could not find the Health Department sticker that is supposed to be visible to all patrons. Not cool.. Good food like everyone says, but disgusting restaurant. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe this was just a bad time or maybe the "Now Hiring" sign is for that specific employee, but I don't have the desire to go back anytime soon. read more

I tried out Five Guys with my parents, and my mom was very annoyed when she realized that a standard cheeseburger always comes with 2 patties- not 1. I'm a vegetarian and I don't have any options here, aside from fries, what is essentially a floppy bun with some melted cheese and condiments on it on it, and of course peanuts. Oh, the peanuts. This place always looks so trashed. When I visited, it was opening week and even then there were peanut shells all over the floor. It's a 2 star burger joint at best. The food isn't anything to rave over, the environment is horrible, and the menu is boring. There are plenty of other places to visit for a good burger, fries, and a shake. (Yeah, Five Guys doesn't have milkshakes either.) In-N-Out is about 5 minutes away from here, and I highly recommend that over this place. read more

This Five Guys is the dirtiest and grimmiest I've ever been to. Nothing was stocked and no tables were clean. The food tasted fine but afterward I got diarrhea and that's never happened before eating Five Guys. The Health Department needs to look into this place.. read more

Not a fan. I don't enjoy other people's crumbs on my table. The tables don't appear to ever be cleaned. It seems dumping peanut shells and burger junk on the floor, is the preferred method. There were 2 separate people in here at 2:30pm. I stood at the register for 5 minutes before being acknowledged. I had written down my order on a post-it: Little burger, no mayo, no lettuce, no ketchup, add a-1 sauce and bbq sauce.I handed it to the cashier who thought it was written in a foreign language. I waited for 10 minutes until my # was called. My burger was handed to me and instantly snatched back. The forgotten sauces were added, burger rewrapped and given to me. I discovered half way through it, that it had a slice of cheese, unmelted, on it, how can you bungle such a simple order?!! I am an In and Out fan. Cheaper and never any mistakes. Food is way too expensive for a burger joint; service was slow for the time I was there. It wasn't very crowded. The restaurant was cluttered with a pallet of boxes and I felt like I was in a meat locker. They have a long way to go to get me to come back. Although my daughter loves this restaurant, I find that the fries are soggy and if you take your order home to eat, my bun is soaking wet by the time I get home (5 minutes away). Flavor is good, but just can't get over the soggy bun. I think eating it in house is a better way to go. read more

Gross really bad food, but the service was ok, my burger was sloppy and not in a good way my bun was ALL wet and fell apart I couldn't even eat it as a hamburger and I didn't have a lot of toppings! Apparently whoever published the ratings that hang on the wall in this place hasn't been to the Petaluma 5 Guys. First initial impression was there was a lot of garbage on the floors, the tables were dirty and in need of cleaning. Blunder no. 1- they get my order all wrong. Remake please. Blunder no.2- is it necessary to over salt the fries? Geez, want some potato with that salt? Garbage! Blunder 3- Does anyone clean the bathroom in this place? Staff argues behind the counter. Yes, no.4. On our way out a woman and her little girl just placed their order. There was no one else in the restaurant but the staff, is and this woman and her daughter. Every table was filthy. She had to ask if they would give a table a wipe down. Not one of the workers could bother to do that. My dining partner wiped the table down for her as we left. Hello, is there a business owner anywhere on the premises? Date of our visit 12/01/18. Mid afternoon. Oh and the three stars were given only because they did remake my lousy burger. read more

We've eaten here twice in the last month and both times my husband and I were sick. I'll spare you the awful details, I'm sure you can get the picture. The first time we didn't attribute it to this place, but the second time was no coincidence. It's also worth mentioning that both times I shared a few pieces of my burger with my dog (who eats everything with no problem)... and he was up all night very sick, both times. Stay away from this place. Don't know exactly what their problem is, whether it's careless food handling, improper storage, old product, etc... but something is very wrong. We will absolutely never return. read more
