The location is very convenient and it is closed/walking distance to other shops. The staff were friendly and patient. We ordered two burgers and a grilled cheese sandwich. The beef in the burgers were juice and well-cooked. There were lots of toppings (free) to choose from for the burgers. The grilled cheese sandwich was not good. The toasts were burned and the cheese was not cheesy. Free peanuts with unlimited refills as usual and always tasty! We got in around 11:00 in a Saturday morning and barely had any other customers there, however, the table was already sticky. Seemed the staff were not coming out to clean the tables at all. I'm only recommending this place for the food alone. The service was not good. It was still early, around 8ish and we had a $43.00 bill so I gave the lady a $100.00 bill and they refused to take it. She. I spoke to the manager he said they cannot except large bills , even though they had the change in the draw. The restaurant is conveniently located right in the strip of Plainsboro downtown area. The store is clean and roomy. Employees are professional and helpful. I had a chance to try a cheeseburger as well as an Oreo milkshake here. The food was cooked very well and nicely packed. I really enjoyed it, especially the Oreo milkshake. Even If you arrived a minute before closing, staff would not kick out and take your order with a smile. The parking lot is small and can be hard to park sometimes. I live in town and this used to be my go to spot for a great burger and fries. The prices have been rising way too fast and as of late they are extremely stingy with giving extra fries. Seems like they reduced it to 2-3 extra fries per bag regardless of how many burgers you order. It used to 15-25 extra. Ate dinner here tonight and had an OK time. First, there's plenty of parking nearby, and we found a spot easily. The general vibe of the place is exactly like any other Five Guys, although there is a nice outdoor patio area which we used while enjoying the cooler weather. They took our order reasonably quickly, but it took quite a while to actually get our food, and I saw it languishing for a while on the counter. I think they had a large DoorDash order that was consuming a lot of attention from the employees. When we finally got our food, it was reasonably tasty, although not life-changing or anything. Went in tonight for a veggie grilled cheese, overpriced but my favorite! My order was completely taken without regard, how do you forget to put cheese on a grilled cheese? I specified my toppings to include NO mushrooms, NO peppers and added GRILLED keyword grilled jalapeños. My "sandwich" had both mushrooms (which I am allergic too), peppers( gross) and raw jalapeños. I'm utterly shocked that someone would disregard a customers order to that extent, what a shame for food service. The grill cook dropped his spatula and whipped it off on a WET RAG before packing up my toasted bread because the 2 cheese slices were obviously missing, this blonde women working there had told him to clean it off but he did not. There seems to be a lot of hype around Fife Guys, with wall advertising claiming the burgers and fries are "the best." The franchise branch that we stopped in was appealing in its retro design, and the burger menu simple to comprehend. I appreciated the opportunity to order the manageable single burger, to which I added mushrooms (very good) and raw onions (also good). All burgers are served well-done for safety reasons, I suppose. However, when one is a "medium rare" person, a well-done puck doesn't occasion much enthusiasm to proclaim it "the best." Nevertheless, the burger was still enjoyable - and thankfully - not as dry as feared. The french fries were made from fresh potatoes and had good flavor, but they were a bit on the limp side. This rating might have scored four stars. However, the total was pulled down by two factors not related to the quality of the edibles. One was the execution and delivery. The joint was practically empty. At least four young men were busy creating an assembly line of sorts to fill the orders. It seemed as if they were lacking something in organization and timing. Completed, wrapped, burgers sat for several minutes while fries still bubbled in the fryer, and while we're not impatient, the wait seemed long. Fresh roasted peanuts in the shell kept us busy while we anticipated the burgers. (Nice touch! So are the bottles of malt vinegar available for the fries. Thanks!) Did the bottom fall out of the universe because service was slightly off kilter? No. But this is an area where improvement can be made. Factor two. The women's room needed better maintenance. The grout areas between the tiles were caked with dirt. The floors of the dining area were similarly begrimed, but to a lesser degree. Alas, the nature of the surface appears to be one that is more challenging to keep clean. It's simply not very appetizing in an eatery. Food is exactly what you'd expect from a Five Guys, greasy customized goodness, entirely too many french fries and milkshakes with more calories than some Thanksgiving meals. This location is a bit smaller than the average Five Guys location, so during busy lunch rushes it can be challenging to find a seat from time to time. This location does a few outside tables available, but on the typical summer day that I was there yesterday, the concrete patio reflecting the sun's heat made it entirely too uncomfortable to consider eating out there, even with the umbrellas blocking direct exposure. Probably very nice during dinner time, though. The good news is that the staff here is pretty good, especially those working in the dining area, and when a table does clear out, it still generally manages to get a good wipe-down before the next group settles in. We came here over the weekend for a "lower key" lunch. The restaurant was not so busy as this is in a business area. The staff and the food was expected since this is a chain. What I liked was that when the staff came around to clean up the tables and chairs, they also buckled the seat belt in the high chairs and "cleaned" them as well. For me this is helpful as sometimes the buckles are broken at some restaurants and they are a dirty mess; even with a simple wipes that helps a little. This particular Five Guys gets pretty busy during lunchtime with kids out of the school. The reason for 3 stars, the food was pretty average when it could have been great. I personally get a burger with everything on it, they call it all the way, a medium fry to share and lastly one of their amazing milkshakes. So..the cheeseburger had two patties and was like 3/4 inches wide, and the fries were in a cup but had basically another cup-full poured in the bag... the food was great, no complaints but next time I'll definitely go for the smaller portions because I couldn't finish my food.. They did really well keeping their composure and completing orders while short handed. The food was still great and those boys were busting their butts taking web orders and restaurant customers. I've been to this Five Guys a number of times, and it never lets me down. The staff is always very friendly, and efficient. I always get the little bacon burger all the way (mayo, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mushrooms) and we usually share fries. Five guys is moderately priced, but the food is so good. It's always fresh, because it's made to order and not pre-made like typical fast food places. The quality of the burger is a lot better and a lot more delicious. The food does take a bit of time to wait, but it's honestly so worth it. We always order small fries, because the small is enough for two people. I feel like sometimes they just over estimate how much fries to give you, because we never seem to be able to finish it. I also like how you can grab free peanuts while you wait. I recently tried the cajun fries, and they were a little spicy, but I really enjoyed it and wouldn't mind getting it next time. I recommend the cajun fries to anyone who likes spicy food.
