Five Guys has become one of my favorite fast-food burger chains. If you're looking for a thin, frozen fast-food patty, this isn't it. These are big, juicy burgers made to order, and you can pile on just about every topping imaginable at no extra charge. Jalapeños, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, A1 sauce, hot sauce... have fun building your greasy masterpiece. The Ramsey location has always done a nice job for me. Orders come out fresh, the restaurant is clean, and there's plenty of seating whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout. Then there are the fries. If you've never been to Five Guys before, don't be surprised when your order of fries seems to explode into the bag. They scoop your cup full and then dump another generous helping right on top. It's become part of the Five Guys experience, and I'm certainly not complaining. While you're waiting for your food, grab a handful of the complimentary peanuts. Such a fun little touch that you don't see many places anymore. One thing I especially appreciate is the malt vinegar available for the fries. Mmm... that's the way to eat them. Sure, it's a bit expensive than your average fast food burger these days, but the quality, generous portions, and endless topping combinations make it yummy good. read more

We love this location of Five Guys. The burgers are always fresh and made to order. Lots of toppings and the fries are delicious too. Nice addition of the complementary peanuts. Inside feels pretty standard five guys appearance but I do find it can get a little messy. read more

This 1 star review is for the female manager of this location- wears a black uniform while others wear red. In the past year of me frequenting this place, she has made mistakes on my order, then refused to refund me for what I did not order, she would turn her back on me as I approached the register, speak ill of me and other customers in Spanish (as if we can't understand it? Spanish is taught in almost all secondary schools now and the average American has a basic understanding of the language). She has also raised her voice at me when she didn't understand my order. Finally confronted her about her behavior recently and she claims "she has never met me." This is a blatant lie and she became flustered (and very quiet) upon learning that I understand Spanish. Reported her to corporate and they notified me that she was spoken to and that this incident(s) will be documented. Hopefully, she gets her act together and stops acting like an immature pre-teen. To other customers, especially if you understand Spanish, pay attention to what they say- I've heard them numerous times speaking badly about customers, right to their faces, thinking that no one understands the language. I've ignored it for months but came to a breaking point. As a manager of a franchise establishment, it is her duty to create a pleasant and positive culture for customers AND staff. However, she seems to be the ringleader of gossip and passive aggressive hostility. This kind of behavior taints the whole company's image and it's very unfortunate that adults act like this. read more

The hot dog? More like a hot don't. Five Guys is known for burgers not dogs, there I said it. Came here to the location on Route 17, and ordered a hot dog and fries with a fountain soda. Let me start with the positivies. There is ample parking and attentive staff members. Both are big positives. Also, the number of fries I got with my order is above and beyond and were crispy and flavorful. No need to use ketchup with these bad boys. Now onto the hot dog. The hot dog was limp and had no snap to it. It left a lot to be desired. Next time I go, and trust me, I will go back for their burger and fries, I will stick to the basics. read more

Five Guys is rapidly becoming a road trip stop for me; there is often one conveniently around when it's chow time. But I had a better experience at this one in New Jersey versus one I visited in Connecticut. The cashier was incredibly friendly and polite, it took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready and it was all prepared as requested, and the dining room and restrooms were clean. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Five guys is one of the rare "fast food" stops I'll eat. The Cajun fries are a must order, each one is perfectly seasoned. As a delivery driver, I've stood close to the kitchen and back room while waiting on orders. They are always getting fresh ingredients, and sanitation is prioritized. As a customer, I've always enjoyed the burgers and fries from here. Always cooked to perfection. Nothing beats a classic cheeseburger with their Cajun fries. As a driver, I couldn't ask for a better food delivery system. They always treats me with respect, and don't waste time. I assure you that if you order delivery from here, they are getting it to you as fast as possible while making quality food at the same time. First of all it was absolutely freezing in the place, I mean come on if you do not want to have customers sitting in your restaurant do not have seats, but if you are going to have seats for customers to eat their food they bought from you, turn up the heat!!! I highly highly recommend this location. I always end up going closer to close then I would like, but they're so convenient and delicious that it's a no-brainer. Manager and staff that are on every night I go on any given Monday through Wednesday are just impeccable. They're always happy to greet you when you walk in the door and very quick with service. On top of that, the store is always very clean and constantly has someone walking around wiping the tables and the counters. Though it is a bit expensive to eat there as much as I do, I will continue to go back to this location because of the outstanding service and food I receive every time. . read more

I saw this spot as I was at the panera right by it and thought id pick up a fee things because I hadn't had Five Guys in a really long time. I have to say the bacon dog was my favorite out of everything I got. The bacon was very crisp just how i like it, and the buns were nice and toasted. My cheeseburger, topped with lettuce, pickles, and onion was on the dry side. If it wasnt for the cheese I dont think I would have enjoyed it. But i did like how they added a lot of pickles and onions compared to other spots that give you literally 2 pickles. The fries I ordered were good, pretty salty which I like, but werent crispy enough. I think they just pulled it out of the frier early and I didnt get that nice texture on the outside. Instead it was soft but not terrible. Overall okay spot but made my thoughts on Five Guys change since the last time I had it. read more

I used to go to this location in college a few years ago and I just recently went back. The place is exactly the same, good burgers and the service is still a bit slow even when it's basically empty. But the people are nice and they never messed up my order so I can't complain. The one thing is that they need to move a little faster no matter if there are 2 people or 10 people waiting. read more

Ordered door dash delivery from the Ramsey, NJ location and the bacon tasted off and resulted in me getting food poisoning. I am a driver for a delivery company that works with this restaurant. I received an order tonight that was to a house about 15 minutes away. When I walked into the restaurant, I gave them the customer name, and they had stated it back to me clearly several times before handing me the order. I complete my delivery, and received a text from my customer saying that they'd been delivered the wrong food (for context, the bag is sealed so as to not be tampered with by a driver, making them unable to see the food inside the bag), while I'm in the process of beginning a different delivery. I then had to cancel the delivery, which costed me time, money, and gas, so I could go back to Five Guys and pick up the original order. Upon return, this was the conversation with the cashier that followed. The cashier also did not look up at me during any point in this exchange when I returned, which was extremely disrespectful. Me: "Hi, you gave me the wrong order before about a half hour ago." Cashier: "Oh, what's the name?" Me: "[insert customer name]" Cashier: "Order for [insert customer name]" He shouts back to the kitchen. This was the entire conversation. No apology; no compensation for my customer offered. Nothing. This was super frustrating for me to have to spend 45 minutes of my shift on, and probably even more frustrating for my customer. I will not be accepting orders again from this location, and I would not recommend for anyone to place mobile orders from here either. read more

Service is friendly and allows you to slowly select your toppings. Good value for the price and one of few places that offera realnfrench fries unlike all places offering shoe string fries or skinny fries. The thin fries should be over and done with, back to thicker fries. Love this location because of the Coke machines that lets you combine different drinks. Burgers made fresh while youbwait instead of being pre-made sitting under a heat lamp. Another plus is that you can have peanuts while you wait for your order. I'm not a huge fan of Five Guys Burgers but I am a fan of this location. My friends and I stopped by this place on the way up north for a quick bite to eat. The guy who took our orders at the counter was super friendly, super loud. He kind of reminded me of the guys who sell you beer and snacks at a ballgame. Ordered and waited about 5 minutes for the order to be completed. As typical with other Five Guys locations, they give you a large helping of fries and your burger is super greasy. I think that's my problem with Five Guys - too greasy. It might be good once in a while, but I feel like it's a bit excessive in terms of the grease that oozes out of that burger. I'm sure the fries aren't much better, but they were pretty tasty. Overall, the food is typical of Five Guys and this location executes their taste and quality pretty well. read more

They're barely open 3 weeks so I realize they still are working out the kinks. Service was great, friendly, efficient, and quick. We love Five Guys and couldn't wait till this location opened. Unfortunately we were dissapointed. Food needs work. Burgers were small. I got a little cheeseburger and the burger barely filled 1/3rd of the bun. The fries were raw and over salted. We have eaten at several five guys and the burger fills the bun. I asked if they came in pre- made and was told that they get fresh chopped meat everyday and they form there own patties. They need to make sure that they are consistent with corporate standards. I'll give this location another try in a few months once they get their act together. read more

I know there are a lot of five guys in the area, but we usually go here because it's in the way home. The food is the same as any five guys- solid hamburger and fries for the best price. But what moves me to write this review is the work ethic we've observed at this location over the years. Several times when we've gone in there, there is always someone cleaning the place. And it's been different people. We've been to some five guys where the floor was sticky every time and the tables were dirty every time we were there. Not this one. I enjoy Five Guys, I'm pretty disappointed in another major burger place in our area that rimes with dash. This place is a bit easier to get to for me than the one in Nanuet, I also decided to do the online ordering. Ordering online was quick and painless, and you can customize to your liking. I walked in to their pickup area and the order was done. The one thing they wait to do is the fries and I'm ok with that. Pleasant experience, quick, painless and easy. This review was originally under another Five Guys in Ramsey that doesn't show up when you search for it. So I'm re-posting. From 9/26/2012 The store opened last week, and I was excited to try it. I used to go to the store in Parsippany on Rt 46 before SmashBurger took over. The space is smaller than the other locations I've visited. The cashiers were knowledgeable and quick. I ordered a small burger with mayo, lettuce, tomato, extra pickle and ketchup plus fries. Then we went around the corner to pick up our food. We had a great view of the kitchen so it was interesting to watch everything being made. The wait was about 5 minutes since we got there before the lunch rush. We took our order home, and the burger was fantastic. I requested extra pickles, and they got it exactly right. The fries were a huge disappointment, though. Of course, there were about 5 lbs of them, but they were cooked terribly. Some were barely cooked, and others burned, yet they were ALL soggy. I've never seen or tasted anything like it. I started sampling the fries as soon as I got my order so it wasn't a matter of them getting cold. I appreciate that we get a ton of fries, but if they're terrible, it just makes a bad impression. I hope this is just growing pains, and I will definitely go back to eat in and see if there's a difference. I'm happy to see them because the local SmashBurger has terrible management and lines. read more

Really great burgers. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger with extra meat and bacon and it was incredibly good. Every bite felt like I was in a dreamy paradise. Was so soothing. Fries are above average as well. The only reason why this is not a 5 for me is the extreme amount of calories in their products, and the lack of low calorie meals. But other than that, this place is exquisite for fast food. Will recommend. read more
