Long time CRC customers and always a great deal for your money. The fried chicken tenders with fries is always our go to cheat meal with 24karat sauce and honey mustard. The fries have always been extra crunchy and a battered style. They might have changed it up and now have more of a seasoned steak fry now. Their chicken is always moist and tender, with the perfect crunch factor breading. Service is efficient and friendly. It is a takeout and delivery only. Parking is right out front but during the summer season can be difficult as the next door ice cream spot customers flood the parking lot.

Food is pretty good, and that's mostly what matters. You get bang for your buck too, portion sizes are solid. I just wish there were some better seating options... even the area where people hangout and wait for their food is a bit crammed. If you're ordering takeout, this is a good option.

Highly Recommend The CheeseSteak Wrap. Dynamic Duo Always Slaps. Fried Shrimp are Delicious~ Pricey but Worth It

Best chicken spot in Mahwah. Always crispy. All of their sauces hit too. Sometimes the girls on the phone are rude but the food is worth it.

If you're visiting, you absolutely have to try: * The Beef Brisket: It was incredibly tender, perfectly smoked, and had a great bark. Easily some of the best brisket in the area. * Fried-A-Que Chicken: This is a game changer--slow-smoked then flash-fried so it's juicy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. * The Corn Soufflé: Do not skip this side! It's creamy, sweet, and total comfort food. * Smoked Wings: They have a deep, rich flavor that pairs perfectly with their house-made sauces. The portions are generous and everything tasted fresh and made from scratch. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit for any BBQ lover!

Came in for a later dinner quick bite to eat. I am not sure what the energy was there tonight but…read moreit was not a great meal in anyway. Service was perhaps understaffed or the people they have waiting tables were missing common sense (or their brains altogether). It took over 10 minutes of people walking past us to get anyone's attention and there were ample tables open yet we were not seating until one of the tables being used left and was cleaned. We ordered appetizers and two meals. I ordered the loaded baked potato soup in a bowl, a cup came out and thank goodness. It was terrible. Tasted like pepper heavy cream some cheese and a few measly bacon bits. Our server or any server was nowhere to be found to even complain to. We ordered our go to Cajun rub wings which were delicious as usual except them came out with blue cheese. Our server didn't ask if we had a preference or ranch or blue cheese which is fine that was not much of an issue. I said we wanted to start with appetizers and then order meals in a bit once we decide and if we were still hungry. We order this way every time and it's never been an issue. I kid you not our server walked away for a minute tops after telling us to,"take all the time you need", asking,"so you decide yet?" We opted for a pulled turkey cheese steak and large pork and fries. My cheesesteak I had to coach thru the entire ordering process. I asked for a side salad. Was not asked the dressing type or anything. Once I main meals came out someone else brought them to the table. I had no salad dressing and all of the staff were nowhere to be found. So I started to eat the salad dry. Finally our server comes over and asks how everything is. I asked for salad dressing and he runs off and brings me back blue cheese without asking. I said no thank you I will not eat blue cheese I'd like oil and vinegar please. Getting the check took forever. Then once he dropped it off another maybe 10-15 minutes to get my card run. This is not the Finks we know and are used to and enjoy. The other server seemed to constantly be giving dirty looks and was vaping within the restaurant between tables, like are you kidding me extremely unprofessional?! Very disappointed in our meal and service. Especially the fact it was not even busy at all. We paid our bill and left just in time because the entire bar side smell of cigarettes was creeping over as if people were smoking inside. Safe to say I do not think we will be returning to this location sadly.

They act as if they are doing you a favor when there are countless other food choices to make and we will be in the future. Perhaps this is why the place is always empty when I've been there. As I craved BBQ for the umpteenth time, I was saddened by my past visits to those Long Island places that claimed bbq but were just neon lights or chain stores or just pure disappointments... and then saw a new place opened just a few months ago that was within striking distance. I couldn't resist - I had to try again... As you drive in, stay vigilant and make the correct turn - you might miss it if you go too fast on Jericho Turnpike. Drive straight down - your reward awaits you on the left. I was greeted by Lou, who runs Prime Time Butcher; he is Father to Josh of Blowin' Smoke. This is a family that knows quality meat - we are talking Generations of Butchers. As I waited for my order, Lou greeted customers that came in by name - they've been there before and he knew exactly what they wanted. (That's always a good sign.) Josh came out to greet me and apologized for the slight delay in my order. I came in on a Tuesday evening, missing the Pastrami days on Wed and Thurs, the Brisket of Fri, Sat, & Sun. So, I did what every other aficionado of BBQ would do - I ordered almost everything else to sample the range of the menu. As I left with my order, Lou asked for my honest appraisal and I promised him I would: Long Island has Good BBQ - and it can be found at Blowin' Smoke. Ask the toughest critics: my teenagers. They DEVOURED everything: pulled pork, St Louis ribs (both sauces), baby back ribs, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, wings. They looked up and declared this was the best BBQ they've had in NY. And then they asked if we can go back again in the future - oh, yes, we will... My greatest compliment would be this: would I wear a tshirt and hat with the Blowin' Smoke logo on it? The answer is a resounding YES. (I just hope they don't do the stereotypical black color - this place is unlike any other and shouldn't look like everybody else...) Go get yourself some good BBQ at Blowin' Smoke - and make yourself happy that you did.

I've eaten at Brothers BBQ a handful of times and I feel confident enough at this point to tell you…read moreabout it. Now this is just my opinion, so don't get crazy. Compared to other bbq in the area, I believe Brothers is a winner. The food quality is great, and techniques of prep and cooking are perfectly mastered. The brisket has a flavorful crust and it breaks apart with a fork. The baked beans have all the right stuff to make them excellent. Baked Mac and cheese is BAKED. The chicken falls off the bone and smoked perfectly. Candied yams are perfect and you can actually taste the butter that you're SUPPOSED to bake into it, (they're the only ones who make it right) in my opinion. We ordered an appetizer of "burnt bacon ends", and so much flavor, and fall apart with a fork. The cocktails were potent, so beware . Did I say enough about the food? Even the service was great. One of the owners even swung by to see if we needed anything. If you haven't already gone, go. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere, and sometimes has live entertainment. You'll love it.

Yelps rating scale: 1 star: Not good…read more 2 stars: Could've been better 3 stars: OK 4 Stars: Good 5 Stars: Great A Taste of North Carolina in the City: High Smoke, Mixed Hospitality If you are looking for authentic barbecue with roots straight out of North Carolina, reportedly run by three brothers from the state, though we didn't spot them during our visit, this spot has the craft down, and it is definitely one of the better BBQ places I have been in NY. Still, it misses a few foundational beats when it comes to true Southern hospitality and comfort. Atmosphere & First Impressions From the outside, you might easily mistake the restaurant for being closed. The windows make it tough to see in, and on a rainy day with the outdoor seating empty, it feels a bit hidden away. You are greeted by a wonderfully comfortable waiting area featuring plush sofas and a seating bench. I also really appreciated seeing such a diverse crowd of customers dining here, which is especially refreshing to see for this area. Be warned before you walk through the door: bring a sweater. They do not skimp on the air conditioning; they blast it! On the positive side, the bathrooms are immaculate while keeping that traditional, classic BBQ joint feel. Seating & Service When we arrived, I requested a quieter area due to sensory sensitivities. We waited a bit and were ultimately seated right next to the noisy bar. It looked like there was a cozy little nook past the fireplace that would have been ideal, but it had a laptop sitting on it. Even for a Sunday supper, keeping areas like that closed off when a guest needs a quieter space felt like a missed opportunity. Our waitress was working double duty as a bartender, so she was straight to business. She was efficient enough to give us what we needed, but lacking that warm, conversational touch. At the end of the meal, we weren't thanked for coming in but told to drive safely. We were accidentally overcharged for a fountain soda we never ordered. While the waitress corrected it when pointed out, there was an absolute lack of an apology. Taking responsibility is part of the package. The Meal: Highs and Lows The Cornbread: Starting off, the meal kicks off with complimentary cornbread, but it comes with a couple of caveats. Depending on how you were raised, cornbread camps are deeply divided on sweetness. This version is very sweet, crumbly, and honey forward. It is almost tasting like a boxed Jiffy honey mix with some extras. Unfortunately, it was cold and served with ice cold, solid butter that wouldn't spread. If you want more, it's $2 a piece, a detail they really ought to mention upfront rather than leaving it as a surprise. It is nice that they give it complimentary but they are banking on you consuming it and when you get your BBQ you want more but have to pay. It would be nice to be upfront about this. The Meats: The barbecue itself delivers. The meat is smoked nicely. We sampled the pulled pork, brisket, chicken, and sausage, paired with table-side salt, pepper, and just one single type of BBQ sauce available on the table. The Sides & Fixins: The baked beans were good, but the sides could have been much hotter. The collard greens had a noticeable crunch from the stems and consisted strictly of greens without any pieces of pork or turkey mixed in. I liked that it was not too salty for my liking. As for the mac and cheese, it lacked that signature baked cheese crust on top as seen in photos online. Visiting around 5:30pm on a Sunday evening left us wondering if we caught the tail end of things or were served leftover portions. Tableware & Details The tableware leaves room for improvement. Aside from the metal meat trays, everything is served on melamine (plastic) plates rather than real ceramic and you are each given a cloth napkin. Furthermore, guests are only given butter knives, and the cutlery could definitely be elevated to better enjoy the experience - especially to ensure proper access to napkins for a messy barbecue meal. Drinks & Hospitality The Sweet Tea: The sweet tea is sweet and good. However, you are not offered a refill here. For a Southern style spot, not offering a complimentary or even low cost refill on sweet tea felt neglectful and impolite. It's a small touch of hospitality that goes a long way. With roots that spread throughout the south, I have not experienced this even consuming BBQ at home in NY. Other Drinks: Cocktails run around $16 a person (which made neighboring tables wince a bit at $32 for two drinks), but I thoroughly enjoyed a cold Shiner beer straight from Texas. My beer was $12 tall boy and COLD. Ultimately, despite a few missteps with the sides and service, they have the smoking technique down well. True Southern hospitality is about making folks feel welcome, warm, and genuinely cared for from the moment they step in to the moment they leave, and bringing more of that heart to the dining room would elevate this place immensely.
