Have you ever had Belgian style pommes frites? They are delicious twice fried cut potato fries cooked in peanut oil and taste like perfection. Well, 5 Guys fries are just as delicious! They come in a large paper cup and can be enough for two people for around $2.75. They have a bar area where they stock all of the condiments to put on them, such as ketchup etc. The drinks are self serve from a fountain and there is an open kitchen where you can watch the food being made. Everything is immaculately clean and all of the workers are very happy and having a good time. The burgers are delicious and taste very fresh and flavorful, and run about $3.50-5.00. There are 15 free toppings that you can have added to your burger if you choose. Such as, mushrooms, A-1, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, etc. The cheese on the cheeseburgers is tangy almost like a sharp cheddar flavor. If you order a regular burger, it comes with two patties! This "Build-A-Burger" place rocks! Whether I'm in DC, VA, or FL, this place is consistent in juicy flavorful burgers. A visit to Five Guys inevitably starts with the peanuts, which are laying around everywhere in the shell like a steakhouse. This can be pretty much a deal breaker if you have or hang out with a person with a peanut allergy, so about that, you're so warned. There's been a multitude of reviews about Five Guys elsewhere, I'll just add that the burgers served up here are like any other Five Guys, so if you just need that beefy, cheesy, bacony, greasy fix every now and then like I do, and you happen to be by University/Cooper Creek, congrats, you have a Five Guys near by. If you've never eaten here before, obviously the burger is my recommendation, fix it up how you like, and be sure to get the natural cut fries, which aren't exactly the crispiest, more like what you might expect from a home frier; as a matter of fact, that generally is the appeal of a Five Guys, the food is sort of like what you could come up with at home if you went about the tiresome task of firing up the grill, scraping it down, putting together some burgers, and then frying your own fries. read more

FGs is a chain where you can actually get greasy spoon burgers like the drive in locations up north.( I'm from upstate NY). The burgers are good. I think the smaller burger is quite enough, the large is really a double stacker. The use of peanut oil really makes a difference with the fries. Quality - ingredients are fresh and although the menu is simple, what they do they do well. Fries - Must try dipping fries in malted vinegar. It's a northern thing and definitely worth it if it's new to you. Atmosphere - Burger joint so it's pretty simple and can get loud in general. read more

happy new year !..i will start by saying that i like this restaurant the food is ok the service is good and quick and myself and a few of my employees go there on a regular basis since we work in that area,one thing though that is very annoying is the volume of the music and the style i don;t mean to sound like an old fart ,because i love rock music but i would prefer that while i eat my burger i would NOT have to listen to ac/dc telling me on on my way to hell ,we go there to sit have a nice lunch and maybe have a little conversation NOT be blasted by hundreds of decibels of head banging music ,,i would say first lower the volume and second find a station with more soothing relaxing music maybe reggae..we all going to hell don;t need to be reminded of it while eating .......peace out ! read more

Been here multiple times. It used to be a regular order of "5-guys style" fries could feed 2-3 people. I'm not sure if they are different or not, but they seemed far less than usual and perhaps differently prepared? Otherwise, Burgers all tasty as expected and BUSY as usual. read more

I put in a pickup order that was supposed to be ready at 3:59. I arrived around 4:09, which was my own fault. Let the person at the front know I was there. Figured I'd be in and out real quick since I was late. Nope. Cue about 10 minutes of waiting by the counter, others getting their orders until it was just me at the counter. No one asked what I was waiting on. Finally asked again about my order and the employee found it on the shelf, where it had been at least since I arrived. No, "sorry about that," or anything. Burgers are fine as usual but had no tomato and wound up lukewarm. I wish someone had checked in with me about what I was waiting on as I stood there staring at the pickup counter. read more

We would compare this to "Bagger Dave's"...it's an over-priced burger place that boasts "natural, fresh, never frozen" and the prices agree. We ordered two cheeseburgers, a large fry, and a large iced tea; we paid $25ish for that meal. We would have rather put that money towards a better lunch elsewhere. After having only eaten at the Five Guys in Tampa, which was great, I talked everyone in my office in to getting food from this location for an office party. When I arrived, which may have been early, the food was not ready, which was good because I got to watch the burgers made in front of me. The guy making them literally put no more mustard on each bun than would cover a dime. Then after bringing the food back, and everyone tried it, after me bragging about how phenomenal their burgers and fries were, I was embarrassed as hell. I could have gotten a better burger from BK for 1/3 the price. The location at Gulf Gate in Sarasota is good, though, not sure what happened here, I thought all franchises were cookie cutter. And as a side note, I sent an email to "corportate" on their website, and NEVER heard back. It's been over 6 months now, and STILL no response. read more

Besides the Great Cheeseburgers and Fries, you need to try a hot dog. They are sliced open and grilled. Try it with Bacon, Onion, Mustard, and Cheese. It is one of the best hot dogs that I've had in years. The only thing missing would be the coleslaw. I mostly get cheeseburgers with mushrooms, onions, and mayo. I will give them 5 stars since the food is consistant and fresh. Try adding a patty and making a triple. Tried this the other day and it hit the spot. Fries are always good prefer to ask for them well done and eat them first. People always mention in n out and although it's been 15 years since I ate there I see similarities but not the same. I remember in n out had an item not on the menu called a 4 x 4. 4 patties and 4 cheese. I would try but don't eat cheese. Almost always await but always good. Went to this location last night and was very disappointed. I have been to several of these hamburger places in the past and found they are not all equal in the quality of their product. They tell you that the meat is better than other burger places but this five guys is using a cheap meat that they cook burnt. I guess they hope you want notice it that way. I gave one star not because of the food which is great, but the condition of this facility. IT IS DIRTY. I sent an email to their corporate group to complain and never heard back. We went back to lunch and was even more disappointed. The floor was a mess with other peoples food. The table tops are never clean and the chairs stick to you went you get up. I personally like the food, but if the customer areas are so dirty it makes you wonder about the food preparation areas. I'm not willing to drive to another neighborhood for Five Guys so I guess I will have to find another burger place to eat. read more
