Awesome patty melt...it was delicious! The fries are huge and crispy as always! It's nice they have old bay and malt vinegar too.

My order was incorrect. (I ordered online so I didn't check before I left). They barely gave any fries. Took longer than was told online.

The menu is classic, the kind of simple comfort food that has nothing to hide behind. Hot dogs, chili, fries, soft serve. Everything is straightforward and made the way you want it to be. The space is tiny, which is part of the charm and part of the warning label. There are only six seats, all at a counter, no tables. This is mostly a grab, wait a few minutes, and take it home kind of stop. Go early if you want a seat. Service is fast and genuinely friendly. Smiles, efficiency, no attitude, just people who know what they're doing. That kind of warmth matters more than most restaurants realize. We ordered a few foot longs, chili fries, and a couple ice cream cones. Every single item hit. The hot dogs were best loaded up with toppings, and the chili fries are a must. Rich, messy, and completely worth it. Highly recommended.

I went to Mother's Peninsula Grille one time on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. It was with an Annapolis area based Meetup social group for trivia night. I knew a couple of the people from another Meetup I was in and thought it'd be worth the drive all the way east to here that Tuesday night. Burger was excellent. I got an egg on the burger, yum! Service was good as I recall. Trivia was a lot of fun. We even got a free shot for the whole table for getting a specific question right or winning a round or something. Think it was like a lemon drop. The only issue was that the acoustics were bad for the trivia and was hard to hear the questions being read, so posed a bit more challenging as it was noisy. I'd go back here for trivia or otherwise. However, on a sad note, the very next morning I went to my office and to do some work travel that afternoon. My dad called at 9:15 AM breaking up about our family dog dying. I still did the work travel that afternoon but I was despondent and numb the rest of the day. In spite of the negative of the next day, I'd still go back here as I remember the good food and fun time here.

Most times he gets it without the sauce since he can't really do the spicy anymore. I love the poboy sandwich with extra tarter and chipotle sauce. My new fave is the ledge with blackened salmon and shrimp! I usually get the chipotle Caesar dressing with it and it is to die for! Those are my go to's. Then, for dessert... it's the bread pudding beignets EVERY TIME! I usually eat it in the same day but it carries over well into the next day as well! Great food! Great atmosphere! Must try!

A couple of them arrived a little dry, but the staff handled it well and replaced them right away without any hassle. I always appreciate when a restaurant responds quickly to an issue rather than making it a bigger problem. We also had the Crispy Calamari Fritz and the Pan Seared Salmon. My partner really enjoyed the calamari. The salmon was especially well prepared--crispy on the outside while still moist on the inside. The farro risotto was creamy and had very good flavor, and the asparagus worked well with the rest of the dish. Our food came out fairly quickly, service was friendly, and the way they handled the oysters left a good impression. Overall, Cypress is a solid local seafood restaurant and somewhere I'd be comfortable returning to.

We'd visited the previous restaurants in this spot and neither lasted so we were interested to see the changes. The restaurant itself is styled beautifully, not what you'd expect in a suburban shopping center. We opted for the Brussels and the short rib grilled cheese. Both were great. The Brussels were sliced, the balsamic glaze was really great. The short rib came on sourdough and I had low expectations: usually short rib on sandwiches (in my experience) is either dry or soaks through the bread, this sandwich was perfect! The short rib was really tender and flavorful, the bread was toasted but still soft. Perhaps the unsung hero of the meal were the fries and the malt vinegar aioli! The fries were incredible and the accompanying aioli was perfectly tangy, we couldn't stop eating them in spite of being full. Overall we were really pleased with our meal! We will be back to try more of the menu.
