Jeno's is a spot I've been going to since high school as a local. The place is small and definitely has a hole in the wall feel. The hand cut fries are to die for. The cheesesteak gets the job done and I really have no complaints. The roll is solid and comes from a local bakery, and the meat is sliced just right. Amazing cheesesteak!! The roll was super fresh and fluffy, while the steak was actually sliced high quality fresh steak that was super tender. It didn't disintegrate and I really liked the springy texture of the super tender thin streak slices! And the fries were very fresh and hand cut with crispy edges and fluffy inside. Highly recommend this place! It is counter pickup service only and there is no inside seating. The frozen yogurt place next door does have tables, though. read more

This is the go to spot whenever I am near Severna Park for a cheesesteak. It's a small shop but they pump out some good sandwiches and fries. The people who work there are always pleasant. There is only a small table outside for 2 people to sit at so it's 100% to go. My only downside to them is that they close super early at 8PM. It's not enough to take off a star, but you can't go to a football game and get a cheesesteak after because they are closed. You should definitely give them a try if you are in the area. read more

My only regret is not getting a picture lol. This was pretty solid overall! The portions are large of the sandwiches and the fries. The fries are very good they're like a five guys type of fry if I had to compare. The beef was a generous portion! My only complaint was I wasn't crazy about the bread it was on. It was super soft I'd prefer a firmer bread or maybe toasted if not but that's just personal preference. Here are the reasons why: Service: 5/5 The staff here were all extremely friendly! Very patient when ordering, and helpful throughout your entire order. It's a fast food type of place, so there's no seating, but if you're parked right out front, they will make sure to call your name loud enough to hear your order. Regular cheesesteak w/ cooked onions: 3/5 The bread was tough to chew..not what you'd hope for in a cheesesteak especially because bread is half the experience! The bread to protein ratio was also not great...felt like each bite you took consisted of only bread. I came here a little before noon on a Tuesday and put down an order for their man sub. After about 10 minutes later my order was ready and wow did I want to dig in. It was just overflowing with both ribeye and chicken, bacon, and fried onions, all topped off with cheddar sauce. It all tasted great! Stopped by Elkridge Volunteer Fire station for their weekly food truck gathering. Decided to try the Jenos food truck out. There was quite a line at this truck compared to the other ones. We ordered the muddy Paw and regular cheesesteak. It's definitely different then your typical cheesesteak. The meat is thicker cut and more flavorful. It was little salty for me but I'm little sensitive to salt so won't ding them on that. The service was great and the food was ready fairly quickly. I would definitely try them again. read more

Just tried their cheesesteak with Cooper sharp cheddar. It was delicious. The meat was amazing, you can definitely tell the difference with their fresh cut ribeye steak. sorry I didn't get a picture, but I ate the whole thing so quickly! I was in the Annapolis area and was craving a cheesesteak. I perused both Yelp and Google Maps and came across Jeno's. I read some reviews that Jeno's was a good option for a cheesesteak sandwich in the area however there were some guides describing Jeno's as not being comparable to traditional cheesesteaks. Considering the fact I saw other reviews along the contrary I decided to give it a try. Granted they tout themselves as "Anne Arundel's Finest Cheese Steak" which is quite a bold statement and one which, I'll be honest, lured me in. I ordered "The Cheesesteak" which is supposed to resemble a traditional Philly cheesesteak. Let's be honest, whether or not people want to admit it they all have the concept of the traditional Philly cheesesteak in mind when they are developing their cheesesteak recipe. This cheesesteak was OK. I probably would consider it a good cheesesteak but after eating the cheesesteak it was difficult for me to disassociate the the fact that Jeno's plays on the essence of the Philly cheesesteak when describing it's sandwich, the ingredients they use and the store name. I was just expecting more considering the restaurant name is reminiscent of the name of a local cheesesteak restaurant in Philadelphia, the menu referenced elements of a Philly cheesesteak and it all came up short. The meat to bread ratio was inappropriate. The bread was seemingly dry. There was virtually no fat rendering from the meat for the bread to soak up and the cook was so light-handed with the cheese that it couldn't overcompensate for the dry sandwich. This sandwich yielded more of a bread experience than a cheesesteak experience. The seasoning wasn't there and I needed ketchup to get through most of it. I didn't finish the sandwich because again this was more of a bread experiencing considering there was a higher bread-to-steak ratio. As the locals say I believe this cheesesteak is good, regionally, for Anne Arundel county but having tried other cheesesteaks including those outside of Philly I can't say this one is competitive. But don't take my word, give them a try. read more

We stopped for lunch. I read the mixed reviews and was hesitant to spend money on lunch here. We were taking a bike ride on the trail and new we wanted to stop in this area. The food was delicious! Our subs were packed full of meat and the bread was super fresh and delicious. The wait was about 15 minutes as it was lunch time and orders were coming in left and right. The young lady that took the order was very professional, and the staff was very cool as well. This is a plus for any customer service oriented company. Unfortunately the "memo" received on the greatness of the food must have been written by someone without the sense of taste. The food was below average, fries were over cooked and the cheese steak and chicken cheese steak were just seasoned wrong. I wasn't expecting a true Philly here but I was expecting to say yum. Instead I said yuck. My sandwiches are now resting at the bottom of my trash can and now the trash can hates me. Overall it could just be me, I would tell anyone to go check this place out the menu is large and maybe I haven't found my sandwich just yet unfortunately I don't think I ever will because I threw away 30 plus dollars because none in my party enjoyed their meal. I've had Jeno's saved in my bookmarks for months now. Today, I finally ended up on the Annapolis side, and decided to give them a try. I am a fan of authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, and while Jeno's isn't quite Jim's, Tony Luke's, or John's roast pork in Philadelphia, it is a very, very good cheesesteak. I ordered the traditional cheesesteak, with grilled onions and "hots"(hot peppers), and opted for the cheddar cheese whiz spread. The sandwich came on a soft roll, was about 8 inches long, and was incredibly filling. The steak was seasoned very well, and it was so good that I forgive them for not remembering to add my grilled onions. If I could offer one suggestion, it'd probably be to be a bit more generous with the cheese whiz, as I didn't taste it very much on my sandwich. My GF had the traditional chicken cheese steak and enjoyed her meal also. The boardwalk fries were a major plus, and the fact that we didn't have to wait very long made our experience that much better. The icing on the cake was the gentleman at the register. I asked him questions about this establishment's beginnings, and not only did he have answers, he had stories as well. Who knew that Papa Jeno was "The Admiral" David Robinson's personal chef??? Here's the deal: it's not a 100% Philly cheesesteak. In my opinion, the bread on a cheesesteak has to have a specific chew to it -- my comparisons being Tony Luke's or Jim's in Philly proper -- but that doesn't mean Jeno's doesn't make a solid steak sandwich. This spot has been a local favorite for years and I've literally been stopping here since I was in high school. The steak is very finely chopped, legitimately seasoned ribeye, the whiz they make in house is to DIE for, and their fries are exquisite, handcut, and remind me of Boardwalk fries from back in the day. Bread aside, it's definitely a lot closer to authenticity than any Charley's you come across. They also have a bunch of sandwiches with crazy ingredients that have been made by customers over the years; I haven't tried those, but I know they're a local staple. One of the best things on the menu though is the lumpia which I believe is a family recipe of the people who own the business -- highly recommend an order of that if you're feeling adventurous. Only downside is a lack of seating, but I won't hold that against them because it's always been known as a little hole in the wall. My family really enjoys getting Jeno's and then sitting at the table behind it on the trail. Tonight was the perfect night for that! This is a review of the food truck. They advertised 'ribeye', but what was served was an unchopped bulk food service seasoned disaster that would have been laughed at in the Philly / Delaware area. It may have been once inspired by the idea of ribeye, but what was served was awful. Expensive and barely edible. I almost want to search their trash for what was actully paid for. I am a black man who was waiting patiently in line for an order that was placed over the phone ahead of time. As I'm waiting in line another white man comes up and gets in front of me to say "I placed my order over the phone.." in which I replied "I also placed my order ahead of time over the phone". The young lady who was the cashier promptly responded to the man that jumped in the front of the line, served him his food, and casually responded to me after serving him "I'm sorry I didn't realize you placed an order as well".. of course you didn't because you didn't ASK. You just assumed because I'm a black man in Severna Park that my order doesn't matter and I need to wait. Was pretty disappointed based on reviews and how many people were in and out of this place. Its possible that I made a mistake getting a cheesesteak with whiz on it. My husband said his with provolone was decent. Asked for extra crispy fries left us with limp fries...asked for vinegar expecting malt and got white vinegar. Just not what I was hoping for read more
