Well, it's a Five Guys. They get the job done fairly quickly and the food is okay but not spectacular. I really don't like the pervading smell of grease in all Five Guys. At least I don't carry it away with me on my body as seems to happen with Eau d' Subway. Last time I went here it was something like 95 degrees inside, so I'm guessing the AC wasn't working. Hopefully it was fixed quickly. I'm not sure how I can be the Duchess of this place. I really don't go very often. read more

huh wuh? First off, I had the veggie sandwich which was meh. Pay the Hillstone Restaurant Group for their Houston's veggie burger recipe and that'd be much better than the boring sandwich I ate. Meh - as were the fries, but what really made things bad was the incredibly LONG ASS wait for the food. Good G*d. Let me tell you, the MVA is two blocks over and I could have walked over, gotten my number ticket, renewed my registration, walked back, and still have had minutes to kill before getting my food. Talk about sssssllllllooooooowwwwwww. Your system is INEFFICIENT. It's not the workers, they were hustling their asses off, especially the black guy w/ the glasses. The worker bees were working so I can only assume it's the system that's to fault. Hire a consulting company and fix that. By the time they were about to call my number, the anticipation of the wait had me thinking I was about to be awarded an Oscar, and then, of course, the big letdown of the meal. So what the potatoes for the fries that day came from Shoshone, ID. They sucked, no slight crispiness, but not quite bad enough to be called soggy. The setup of the place was stupid as well. A long island filled w/ ketchup etc. placed parallel to the counter/waiting area by a few feet which made it a big chokepoint of people waiting, people having just ordered, people waiting, people waiting, people waiting. No space, so I just love rubbing up against an island and getting ketchup on my shirt to get by. Put that shit up against a wall or something. As you can see, I was/am more than perturbed, but the 20+ minutes I had to stew gave me all the time I needed to come up w/ this review in my head. read more

I, along with at least five other customers, were waiting in line rather patiently as an older employee tried to figure out how to work the register and take everyone's orders. After a few minutes of us standing around, a much younger employee stopped mopping the floors, opened up another register, and gladly took our orders to keep the line moving. As we sat waiting for our food, the younger employee finished at the register and went back to mopping the floors without complaint. But then, my girlfriend and I watched in disbelief as the older employee walked up to the younger employee - in the middle of the restaurant, and within earshot of us and at least one other customer - and proceeded to berate the younger employee simply for stopping his janitorial work to come take care of customers. I guess the older employee didn't like the fact that he looked like a fool at the register, struggling with one order as the younger employee cleared four in the same amount of time. I hope that younger employee gets paid more than him, because he clearly does more work, complains less, and has a better attitude. EDIT 2/15/2015 I haven't revisited this location, so I can't justify an update review or rating. But I would like to note that after posting this review, I was contacted by their district manager who made it clear to me that they had taken notice of my complaint, and acted accordingly on it. I appreciate their promptness and professionalism in dealing with this matter, and I wish this location the best. I still love Five Guys... I just visit a different location! read more

What a great place! I took a friend the other night for a belated birthday celebration(don't worry she also got a present...he! he!) and to top it off she doesn't eat meat. My friend picked the grilled cheese sandwich with sauteed mushrooms...yum! yum! I stuck to the standard, burger with fries. It was excellent! More importantly, the gentleman who took the order was awesome! I forgot to tell him fries so he added it to the order, without charge, and only asked that I put a tip in the tip charge. Obviously, I did...even more than the fries! Not that I expect him or anyone to give me a freebie for my error, but it was certainly a pleasant surprise and he was just so delightful. Great great great burger spot. Fresh NEVER FROZEN beef. They brought a taste I hadn't had in years...you order a burger "base". Small (one patty burger) or regular (two patty burger). Then you can pay extra for cheese and / or bacon. After that all toppings are free. Sauteed mushrooms / fried onions, mayo, etc. Drink Refills are free. Regular fries...they give you a cup full of fries, then dump even more fries in the bag. I'm not kidding, we grouped all of our leftover fries and put them in a bag...I've never seen that many fries before. My guess is that maybe they were about to throw them out in a few minutes and said, screw it, let's hook people up. They were still good though. It tastes like county fair burgers (which is a really good thing). Not 5 stars because: **It is a little spendy. 9.11 total for burger, fries and soda...in NY you can get that combo for 5 bucks or less. But...fresh meat and potatoes they hand cut on the spot...they even tell you where the potatoes came from. **It takes a bit to get your burger, like 5 minutes. But you can see them making them, like Subway. **So its 4 stars if you're impatient, 5 stars if you're appreciative of taste and quality. read more

Soda machine's are always out of order and they refuse to refill the cartridge and said "The flavor was broken." Also, when I was trying to ask them to correct the issue they completely ignored us & was having side conversations with the other co-workers. I know you work at a five guys, but what ever happened to decent customer service! Ugh! also, this is the only Five Guys where I had to get a large fry... just to get a regular amount, how stingy! At every other location a small was more than enough to feed 4 people. Next time, I'll just go to a different one. Please improve. read more

I've never been to a Five Guys that didn't have great burgers. But I've never had one that didn't make my heart rate slow down along with everything else in your body. The burgers are delicious, and the selection of topping even better- not just the usual ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes but grilled onions, peppers, and a long list of others. The fries are good as well, but I highly recommend sharing- I don't know anyone that can finish off even the small portion. Thats because the small portion is a small cup filled with fries, situated in a 3" deep bed of additional fries that will take up the entire bottom of your bag. The grease will render that bag useless before long anyway. And of course there is the free peanuts. read more

Twice I placed an order via the app and twice for had to wait over ten minutes. I'm not sure if they understand the point of placing an order via an app or if there is a gap in their process that is hindering them from meeting SLA but in my mind ordering from an app should be like Chick-fil-A or Panera. Every time a stop at a Five Guys, I want t love it. Their signs would suggest that everyone else does (at least up to 2010). Unfortunately, I end up leaving unsatisfied. The larger burger chains are not really comparable, because the food is so highly processed, I am not sure it's still meat. Five Guys serves the basics and for the most part does it reasonably well, but never great. This time my son's burger was tasted like it laid in fat for a while, though I know it didn't. The fries are good, my favorite, but well made. The chain is expensive. Two people, burgers, drinks and Fries and you are over $20.00. For that price range, I expect a really great burger, and I have never had one at any Five Guys. In DC and in many other cities, there are local burgers joints and chains (in and out, z-burger) that blow Five Guys away. Maybe in 2006 Five Guys was a great burger place, but today, the competition has stepped it up and surpassed them. read more

The staff was certainly friendly but the manager running the grill was not being efficient with her use of grill space and how many patties she had on at a time (I had 21 minutes to watch her!) They weren't particularly busy or hit with a huge order so there was nothing to excuse the long wait. read more

This place never fails, I'm talkin drunk-hungry, munchies, free peanuts if you're poor or broke as fuck and stink, the milkshakes are like unicorns' blood (please lower price of milkshakes by like a dollar), they give way too many fries to be considered a "small" or "regular" order of fries (but that's not a bad at all). Their grilled cheese is pretty fucking legit as well, add some bacon on that bitch and you'll be obese by the next morning. This place gives orgasms to your taste buds. I was in a hurry this time around so I ordered 1 burger a small fry, and a shake on the five guys app and paid for it about 10 minutes before I arrived. I get there and not only have they not even begun to start making my order, but two people with bigger orders than myself, walked in, ordered, and got there food before I did. I once again still waited 20 minutes for food and to top it off I was late returning to work and would have been even later if I had waited for them to finish making the fries. Top three burgers in it's class. Lots of options to choose from for toppings. I get everything but I forgo the katsup and mustard in favor of A-1. When in a sit down restaurant I order my burger medium rare. Because I dont like my meat dry and I like to taste the meat. The meat at 5 guys is always juicy. While I wait I always grab the free shelled peanuts. There is something visceral about working to get to the food and the salt that makes.me hungrier. Also I get a regular size French fries. There are so many fries that they leave a welcome grease stain on the paper bag they are placed in. Too many to eat yourself so bring a friend or take it home to your family. The fries are also very good. They are fresh cut daily I am told fried in peanut oil. They sell delicious milkshakes too now. And one of my favorite things is the beverage machines. The options seem limitless. The machines used to be rare, now a welcome sight in all 5 guys restaurants. Enjoy! read more

There is a location in Laurel on route 1, one by Fuddruckers in Columbia, one in Potomac, and one in Germantown. Along with the location on Tech Road, that is just Marlyand. I've also eaten at one in downtown DC. Five guys is good because they fry their patties on a hot griddle, and you can get just what you want on your burger or hot dog. My typical order is a Little Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, mayo, raw onion, relish, mustard, and ketchup. I like the array of condiments they have, and appreciate that I am getting a quality hammburger. Arriving wrapped in foil with all my choices, it is always juicy and delicious, and messy. I know that when I am going here it is for an indulgent treat. The fries I wish were another way - thick cut stiff steak style, but Zagat and the Post and many a reviewer laud the brown and often burnt or limp potato sticks as the best. I look forward to the next time I can return, because they are known for their milkshakes as well. read more

Five guys makes pretty good burgers but for almost 6 bucks for a single patty "little burger," they should be called 5 Plus. The ice tea was also decent - but alas - the burgers were awful. 5 Guys makes a point of telling you their burgers are well done - but there is a difference between well done and cooked to death - where 2 5oz patties become tasteless charred greasy grizzle surrounded by oozing insipid cheese on a nothing special soft bun. I am absolutely in love with this Five Guys because it's literally 5 minutes from my house. If I'm feeling really adventurous I could even bike here. Because it's still pretty new it's really clean, and it's quite spacious too. Other than that it's your typical Five Guys - good burgers and good fries!
