Buyer beware: I was excited thinking I'd found a new burger place to try. I looked at the menus and ordered a burger and fries which is their specialty. I paid the amount the young man asked for and I got the receipt and in addition to the sales tax which I expected to pay there was a 4% service fee. There was nothing on the menu or on the front door or on the cash register explaining what this service fee is for. I asked for the manager and he said he had no idea what it was for. I had them void the sale and return my money. Why do businesses insist on charging junk fees that are inexplicable and completely unjustified? If I had known ahead of time that they were charging a service fee I would've been able to make an educated choice whether to dine there. They could've had a sale and happy customer assuming their food was good. But I won't be back no matter how good their food is because I don't like being charged undisclosed Junk fees. read more

Support local!!!! It was a good, but not great, burger. Nothing mind blowing about it, but just cooked well. My only feedback is less salt, but otherwise a moist burger. French fries were fantastic. I stopped by to get a Chicken Sandwich Burger with lemonade. The lady taking my order is really nice and delivered my order to my table. The chicken sandwich wasn't as fresh as I'd expected it to be, but the flavors are really good and better than fast food restaurants' fried chicken, possibly because the sandwich is twice or three times the price compared to other fast food chains. The place is hard to find, but inside is organized and cleaner than other similar restaurants I've been to. There's a wall that allows customers to add ketchup, mustard, and get utensils. For the price, I'd say that the value's quite low and not as high as Chick Fil'A or Popeyes, but good burgers and good service. 6.3/10 for the food, 10/10 for the service. The burgers are usually unbelievably delicious. I had a bad experience ordering them from DoorDash. I ordered sliders which the picture shows three burgers but when I got my order there were only two. I asked for medium rare hoping for medium but they were cooked to death and dry. I ordered this previously and it was three burgers cooked perfectly. I called the restaurant and they said they don't accept temperature requests and they only provide two burgers. No explanation for why three are in the picture on DoorDash. So don't order on line is my recommendation. If you go there in person it's a great burger! Overall, I had a decent experience at Frank's Burger Place. I have to admit that I stopped by Frank's primarily because of a sugar craving. I entered the spot and asked the hostess about their dessert menu, and she informed me that they had chocolate chip bread pudding and creme brulee. I decided to go with the bread pudding, and I was very happy with my selection. For me, the the bread pudding was perfectly sized for my sweet tooth. Also, the pudding was served with a scoop of ice cream. The scoop of ice cream was just what the doctor ordered because originally I was wanted ice cream. However, ice cream/froyo spots in downtown Wheaton are few and far in between. I'll admit there was some confusion with the second part of my order, but it was quickly rectified. Since I was having an extremely rich dessert, I wanted to enjoy it with a cup of coffee. To make things a bit more "fun", I wanted to add a shot of whiskey to the coffee. I was a bit shocked when an iced coffee with whiskey arrived. I was thought saying I would like a cup of coffee would mean that I wanted a HOT coffee. I guess at Frank's you have to be a bit specific. ;) Perhaps, the bartender thought it wanted an iced coffee (or rather a coffee cocktail) since I asked for a shot of whiskey. Like I said earlier, this wasn't a big deal because the bartender quickly fixed my order. The restaurant had a pretty easy-going vibe, and looked like a decent place to have a nice family/friend dinner. While I did not have a main dish (e.g. a burger), folks in the restaurant seemed to be happy with their food. It was my first time visiting the business so I decided to give them a try. I was attending the Wheaton Festival through Yelp. I was given a 15 dollar voucher to use at 1 of the 4 restaurants listed on the voucher and they were listed on it. It wasn't crowded. As soon as I entered, I was able to place an order. I ordered the Smokhouse Bbq burger a side of fries. Both were good. The customer service was good. I didn't have to wait long for my order. They offer dine in and carryout. Especially given the positive reviews I've read of Frank's Burgers, this is one of the most disappointing eating experiences I've had in a long time. The entrance to the restaurant is not accessible to me at all, as a person with a physical disability who uses a wheelchair, but I really wanted to try their food, after reading the rave reviews, so I placed an order for delivery. I was equally hungry and thirsty, on the day I ordered. I had been feeling under the weather for two days, and was running very low on drinks at my apartment, so I ordered two full bottles of a soft drink, at $3.25 per bottle. What was *actually delivered* to me, however, from Frank's Burgers, was *two cans* of this soft drink. That's $6.50, just for the two cans, which is truly ridiculous. The actual food was, for the most part, pretty mediocre and disappointing, for what I paid for it. The burger had been wrapped in a flimsy paper wrapper, and placed in the bag, with the bottom bun facing up, and before I even took the burger out of the bag, it was already a mess. The bun and the toppings were sliding all over the place, not presented well at all, and I had to reassemble the burger, just to be able to eat it. On the taste, it was lukewarm upon delivery, and I had to reheat it. It was pretty underwhelming, given the good reviews of this place. I ordered Cajun fries with garlic aioli, and plain fries with rosemary parmesan, too, and they were, by far, the best parts of the meal. Overall, for a disappointing, not-cheap burger, and two cans of soda, when I actually paid $6.50 for two full bottles, and some decently tasty, but not fantastic, fries, this will likely be my first, and last, delivery order from Frank's Burgers. Maybe everything tastes much better there, when one can actually go inside, and order, and sit down and eat, but I may never know, since the restaurant has several stairs to even get to the entrance, and it's not at all accessible for me, as a paying customer with a physical disability who uses a wheelchair. read more

The customer service and food leave a lot to be desired. First of all, Franks is not ideally situated out in Wheaton, as it is in an area that is a bit tight, congested, and compact blocks away from Wheaton Mall, and you would either need to pay the street meters on the side of the road or pay at the garage or parking lot across from the venue which is not the most convenient situation. The vibe was very unwelcoming and not friendly or welcoming at all. The staff did not greet us or even attempted to try to ask if we needed assistance or explained the menu or anything to us and seemed bothered, nonchalant and did not want to be there. They had no energy and just were unfriendly and unapproachable, so the customer service needs massive improvement. The food was terrible. The chicken sandwich had no flavor and was dry with no type of seasoning, sauce, nothing, just awful. The fries were cooked in cheap, low quality grease. The burger slides were undercooked with pink showing on the inside. We had to politely ask to have the burgers recooked, and they still were not all the way well done and still had the rare pink color inside. The burgers had ligaments in which was nasty, nothing to rave about. The food was pricy and the seating area/ambiance underwhelming, dull, and lacking character. We ended up getting an unpleasant aftertaste and stomach cramps/upset stomach issues after eating here. If this is one of the best that the DMV has to offer, than this is pathetic. The area needs to step its game up. After gentrification, these fancy restaurants and international spots that popped up the last 15 plus years, a lot of them have no flavor, no soul, and are tasteless, and lack any buzz or taste. The food scene in the DMV is below average, and the international spots in Wheaton are terrible. The Baltimore greater area has nice hole in the wall spots or casual dining spots that have much more inviting down to earth presence with much better food. We gotta step up the food scene in the DMV. I don't want to have to go to white table cloth restaurants that are pricey with little portion food sizes. Casual dining has to step up. I am a great cook, but being busy you want to occasionally treat yourself to eating out, but gosh it is frustrating trying to find decent, consistent food spots here. Drive up the road to either 4 Corners Pub or Stained Glass Pub for much better food. read more

OMG I loved every bite I tasted from my order. Just reminiscing about my dinner last night is getting me drooling all over again. It was THAT good!! I made a DoorDash pickup order for Smokehouse Burger, Fried Chicken Sandwich, and French Fries with Cajun seasoning. The Smokehouse Burger had a perfectly ripe slice of tomato and crispy but fluffy bacon sandwiching just as perfectly seared burger patty. It was one of the best I've had since Spelunker's in Front Royal. I also loved the sweet potato bread they used. I was in love with a burger with just enough BBQ seasoning that made everything taste even more incredible. I normally don't even like BBQ sauce or bacon so I hope that speaks volumes, too! The fried chicken sandwich was also out of this world good! It had a perfectly crispy batter and really juicy and tender meat inside. The coleslaw was perfectly seasoned as well. I usually despise coleslaw anything but Frank's was amazing. It had a perfect flavor combination of tartness, sweetness, and creaminess. It wasn't overwhelming in ways that I'd just taste only one or the other. 100/100. Zero complaints. The French Fries were also very good too, except I'd use less seasoning. It tasted a bit on the overseaoned side, but nevertheless delicious. The only thing I wish it was different was the limpness of the pickles and coleslaw. I had an appointment in silver spring so i decided to look for something new to try. I stumbled across this burger joint that wasn't too far from the chiropractor. I ordered the all American and plain fries with an extra Side of house made garlic aioli. The lady at the register was friendly and helpful, and the service was pretty quick (I was there as soon as they opened). The burger was really good. The parking here isn't good, if you're lucky to find a park you will probably have to pay in the lot ($1/hr) or park across the street. 2. The service was good, the girl that took our order was knowledgeable and patient as it was most of our first time there. 3. I got the chicken and avocado sandwich with Cajun fries. I've wanted to try this place for awhile now. Girlfriend look up a buger joint that we haven't tried yet. Frank's popped up. I remembered I had wanted to try it and was all in. It can be a little hard to find because it's tucked away. But I'm here to tell you it was well worth the trip. I got a combo. Which is a burger, fries, and a drink for 11.50. Less then what I would pay at most fast food place more then that for far less. The burger was juicy and delicious. The fries come with a garlic mayonnaise sauce you can dip it in that was so good. I very much appreciate a store made veggie burger over a premade impossible or beyond burger. The burger itself was tasty with a lot of vegetables. I added on cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and ordered a side of Cajun fries. The fries were a little soggy (maybe from the 10 min car ride home) but warmed up nicely in the toaster over at home. We're new to the area so finding this place was a little hard as it's not visible from the main street- you either enter through a parking lot or a small side street. Parking is limited directly in front of the restaurant- just a few spaces. We ordered the All American burger, Fried Chicken Sandwich, and Cajun fries with garlic aioli. The All American was a classic, greasy (but in a good way) burger. The smashed patties were delicious, the cheese was gooey, and the pickles evened out every bite. The Fried Chicken sandwich was perfectly saucy and juicy. And the Cajun fries were more than enough for the two of us. They don't skimp on the seasoning here! I took a special trip just so I could review this place, I ordered a plain single hamburger, and they gave me another cashier, Again, I'd like a plain single hamburger. Then my wife had to repeat it to him. And a lemonade on tap. my wife ordered some stuff, we waited, and what did I get was a single cheeseburger. Ordered online for delivery once. Overall the food was ok for what it was. Then today we decided to order Chicken Tenders for take out based on that experience. Someone made them with dark meat which is not a "chicken tender". The fries were horribly soggy. I called to explain what happened and the lady who was the same one I dealt with at the counter answered. I was super polite with her and she seemed polite also. She said "hang on let me check" then placed me on hold for not less than 10 minutes. I hung up and called back at 10 minutes. She answered, explained it was super busy.
