You can explain the issue to uber support. They will still charge you a cancellation fee. The app is now sending a fifth driver to pick up my order. Ironically I thought ordering after the lunch rush would be a good decision. So at the end of the day the universe way of telling me I should have gotten a salad. The bigger picture, I would hope the store manager would understand it's not about the waste you have today when you lose a customer forever. I never leave bad reviews but this place is ridiculous, we walk in and first thing I noticed is there was one girl behind the counter and the manager in the back, but about 5 or more employees sitting at a table hanging out.. anyways I order a hamburger with just grilled onions, lettuce and extra mayo, that's it because I can't have cheese anymore.They start making it and I notice on the receipt it says grilled mushrooms.. I know I asked for grilled onions so I just brush it off and go up and tell them, that already had the mushrooms on my burger so they said no problem and remake the bun, last time my order was completely wrong and I drove 20 mins home and called them and they fixed it no problem so this time I checked it before leaving because I know better now, but this time when I checked they put cheese on my burger and i honestly don't know how that even happened. So then I go up again and tell them hey I can't have cheese or it wouldn't be a big deal, they have to remake the burger all over again basically. And they had a little attitude but I was so nice to them about it and it was their mess up. And when I checked again before leaving everything looked good, but the grilled onions weren't even grilled they were almost raw. I just gave up and didn't want to cause more issues and they had me keep the burger they messed up so I switched the patties to have the actual grilled onions. Sad to say I am never going back to this location again. It's sad to see what's happened to this place. They NEVER got my order wrong until I moved and now go to this one. I am giving the restaurant 4 stars because honestly this location is great. The staff works well together, fast, efficient. The only issue I have ever had is one time they forgot my lettuce. I will live. However we haven't visited in a while, since the pandemic and inflation. I was SHOCKED by the price increase. Over $10-11 for a cheeseburger?!? I understand the quality aspect but geez. My local Five Guys is temporarily closed so I ventured over to the Southfield location to grab dinner the other night, strictly a pick up and go situation. I ordered ahead on the app, and notified the store when I was about 10 minutes away. When I arrived the food wasn't ready, which was ok, it only took a couple of minutes to get my order. I will say, I believe that my burger was ready and the wait was due to lack of fries or a slow fry cook/prepper in scooping them into the bag. One thing I will state, they are not attentive. They called my order but didn't notice I had ordered a drink as well, I had to remind them and go back to the registers to pickup my drink cup. The burger I ordered was pretty delicious. I stick to a cheeseburger dressed up nicely with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, pickles, and jalapenos for a kick. The burger was cooked perfectly and the condiments were not overwhelming. Sometimes they can put too many on and it just becomes a mess in your hands, this was not that. When I arrived home I noticed that the fries at the bottom of the bag were a little light in Five Guys standards. That is one of the nice things about Five Guys is the complementary fries at the bottom of the bag. Overall, the service was OK and the food was good. For it being the dinner rush I'll cut them a little slack for sure. read more

Full disclosure: I'm a self-proclaimed hot dog enthusiast and have never met a genuine, well-cooked french fry that wasn't worth my time. Add in a pandemic and...To be honest, it's usually an entire internalized catastrophe when I have to interact with the public, and today's lunch pickup at this Five Guys location was no exception. However, my actual experience was pleasant, speedy and not anxiety-inducing at all! My partner got 2 Bacon Cheeseburgers with pickles, lettuce, mushrooms and BBQ sauce, a Large Cajun fry and a large soft drink. I ordered 1 Hot Dog with ketchup and raw onion, a Regular Five Guys fry and a regular soft drink. We placed our orders separate from each other. The staff member taking our orders today was kind and very efficient, despite the lunch rush starting to kick in. He repeated my partner's order to make sure it was put in correctly and was super patient with my stuttering and awkwardness. Our food was good (again, hot dog enthusiast) - nothing outside of the usual Five Guys standard of deliciousness. The service was good too! I try to stay away from fast food, but there are a couple places that I have trouble resisting, and Five Guys is one of them. I like the meatiness of their burgers and all of the toppings they have that you can add to your burger for FREE! I make myself feel not so guilty by ordering the Little Burger (which is still plenty big) and all of the veggies that I like. Granted, it makes for a sloppy eating experience, but it's so worth it. I hadn't been to a Five Guys in a long time, so I was pleased to see that they now offer Little Fries, in addition to the small size. The Little Fries are still very generous: the extra ones that they throw in the bag were plenty for me; I actually brought the cup of fries home! They now have one of those fancy 100 flavor drink machines. I only wanted water, but I was pleased that I got to use the machine for it. And I like that they have fresh lemon slices by the drink machine. I was impressed to see the crew doing different jobs. The young woman who took my order was later the one who refilled the ketchup when I let them know that it was empty, and one of the grill cooks took her place on the register. I think part of what I like about Five Guys (besides their generous portions) is that it's fresh. (As one of the signs says, "Not a freezer in sight".) You can watch the burgers & fries being made right in front of you, so no wondering what goes on behind the scenes. They are also pretty fast and pleasant. Delicious Comfort food that has enough grease to warm the soul during a Michigan winter. I'm a big fan of these well done burgers-even if I usually eat them medium rare. Pick cajun and you feel like you stuck your tongue in a spice jar full or paprika, cajun and salt. You can see everyone hard at work from the moment the order is taken. Even with pandemic at hand, the team works side by side, shouting through their masks to make sure all orders are delivered in a timely fashion. There were a few instances that I didn't feel comfortable (as someone who doesn't go out much during the pandemic) and that was when a doordash deliverer would come and they wouldn't be wearing their mask correctly to cover their nose and mouth. She didn't respect other patrons space for 6 ft and the cashier who kept talking to her and joking with her didn't ask her to behave any differently. I understand its a tough pickle to be in-especially in the service industry. But if no one from the establishment will speak up and protect other patrons, then who will? Overall the burger is good. No matter where you go, the burgers are pretty consistent and taste the same...it's the service of each location that varies. This location is not the best. When we arrived, it was completely empty. It was very clean inside. We walk up to the counter and the woman at the desk starts YELLING to one of her coworkers in the back to come to the front. Why can't you just go back there and get her like a normal person. Then they start talking about a phone charger. Can we place our order please?! The whole time we were there, the staff was very loud and slightly obnoxious. Other than that, everything was fine. Another "issue" that annoys me about this place is the location. It's located in a strip mall, which is perfectly fine. The problem is...there is a bar a few doors down. Who puts a bar in a strip mall!? The entire parking lot is always filled to capacity and most of the time, it's with patrons of this park...so prepare to do a little walking to the door. The meat is juicy, made to order with a decent amount of topping options, and heads and tails above most fast food burgers, with the exception of maybe a REALLY good Culver's butterburger. This particular location is pretty decent too. My order has always been accurate and the staff has been nice enough. And it's clean. Overall, nothing location wise has made the biggest impression on me one way or another but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I have to admit that while most people love their french fries I'm not really a fan. Fresh off the grill, you pick your ingredients, what's not to love? Yes, you'll wait at least four minutes for your burger, but that's what makes it so good! Five Guys' burgers remind me more of a bar burger and less of a fast food burger. That's definitely a good thing. The only thing I really don't like about this place is the way they sell their fries. The size small is much too large of a portion to order when you're eating alone (as I so often do because I'm a loner at my job) and I hate wasting food, so I just don't order them. I also hate how they stuff them into a cup inside a brown takeout bag to get all steamy and lose their crunch... Boooo. I love me some crunchy fries and Five Guys just doesn't cut it. I like the employees, though. A couple workers have stricken up conversations with me while I was waiting for my food, which is always pleasant. I also noticed they don't mind answering questions. That's an A+ in my book. The atmosphere is a little odd. The food was delicious (as always), and the staff were happy and helpful. It had a great atmosphere, but there were a few things that kept me from giving five stars: -they got my order wrong (which wasn't a huge deal because they gave me a regular instead of a little cheeseburger) I didn't ask to have it fixed, but I'm sure that wouldn't have been a problem -it was messy. The floors at 5 guys are usually messy from peanuts but the tables here were pretty dirty too -it was really crowded and hard to find a place to sit. We went around 12:30, so it was during prime lunch break time and we had a group of 4. I got the little cheeseburger with some extra toppings and it was delicious! I am a french fry connoisseur. I have loved them since I was a child and have never stopped. I have enjoyed them at many restaurants across the country and abroad prepared in many different ways.Thus, it was natural that, since I work in the area, I would eventually go to Five Guys. The restaurant is busy and loud at lunch. The sound and vibe is enhanced by the red and white tiled walls. The cooking crew is visible to all, assembling meals like an auto production line. As a vegetarian, I was disappointed that Five Guys does not have a veggie burger. The veggie sandwich I ordered was essentially a very limited number of veggies on a small burger bun. Not good. The fries were OK but nothing special. They are not crispy or exceptionally flavorful although there are a lot of them. I did appreciate that I could get them without the salt. I know that I'm not this restaurant's target customer. If you eat meat, you may have a totally different opinion than mine. For me, however, Five Guys was not so hot. read more

I liked my burger and fries from 5-guys. Honestly, I went more to try the fries, and get a burger for Dave. Here's my take on it: The atmosphere sucks for eating in. Every time someone approaches the door, the people behind the counter yell out "3 at the door!" If I wanted to sit somewhere with a bunch of people yelling at each other, I would just stay home and eat. It's loud, but not in a fun way. So, i took my food to go. The burger didn't travel well. They wrap them in foil, and it steamed the bun and made it squishy. When I did finally eat it, the taste was good. The toppings were nice and fresh, and the bacon crisp. The fries were very yummy. I ate those on the way home. Well, I had to since I wanted to give a fair review of them, right? Gotta eat 'em while they are hot! Anyway, not crispy at all, but they had a good potato taste. Ohhhh mannnn...I have to go to church and then confession and say three rosaries. Forgive me Father for I have sinned. I ate a hamburger on Good Friday. I will change my name to Fish Boy for the Easter weekend. But boy was it good. It was worth the pennance I will have to do. Even though this is not a slider joint I still believe in the Burger University lessons. Lesson One: Smell Since this restaurant is on the corner of Twelve Mile and Telegraph the smell of car exhaust is very prominent. There is no outside smell that lures you into the restaurant. Once inside, awesome. They had some 20+ burgers on the grill and a full fryer of fries going. The smell of peanuts next to the counter was also a bit intoxicating. Lesson Two: Preparation You can actually watch the assembly line of burgers as the cooks prepare them, grilled buns upside down, next were the condiments you choose, then the cook turns around and lays the burgers directly in the middle of the assembled burger. True team work in action. My choice of cajun fries from another Yelper was pretyy good. They not only fill up the small cup but throe in a ton more in the brown paper bag all over the now wrapped burger in tin foil. There were enough fries for three people. Lesson Three: Meal Excellent. Two fresh ground sirloin piled high on the burger with cheese. This burger reminds me of another Yelp recommended burger joint in Farmington Hills. The taste is very similar and equally as good. Lesson Four: Atmoshere There's a ton of atmosphere here. This place was packed at 2:00 in the afternoon. I like the free peanuts, loud music, and all the buzz and chatter from all the patrons. This restaurant is very clean. They have someone in the dining area cleaning at all times. The soda fountain area is clean as there isn't any sticky floor and shoes sticking. The only drawback was the price. A regular cheese burger(double) small fries and small drink was $10.05 with tax. This meal could have easily been shared with another person since there was so much.
