It had been quite a while since we visited a Five Guys. This was a stop at the Warrenton VA location for lunch on a weekday in March, 2024. In reviewing the menu, we debated between a "Hamburger" ($10.49 each) and a "Little Hamburger", but ultimately both my husband and I decided upon the former. The menu described the Hamburger as "fresh, hand-formed patties hot off the grill and placed on a soft, toasted sesame seed bun." You can choose as many toppings as you want with no additional charges, choosing from mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, jalapeño peppers, green peppers, bar-b-que sauce, hot sauce, or A1 sauce. We ordered "All the Way", which I believe included the first 8 toppings just mentioned. We also ordered a Little Fry ($4.89) to share, and a regular soda ($2.89, with free refills) for me. The cashier was very friendly and efficient. We sat down with some perfectly roasted peanuts from restaurant, while we waited for our meals. They came quickly, and we were amazed at their sizes. Each hamburger had two giant beef patties and, with the toppings, they were so large that we had difficulty fitting them into our mouths. They were indeed very tasty, and also very messy. Luckily, they did provide a lot of napkins. The Little Fry was also large and tasty. Even with sharing, we weren't able to finish all of the fries. In the future, we are likely to go with the smaller "Little Hamburgers". The ones we ordered, while tasty, were a nutritional bomb (840 calories, 43 grams of total fat, and 430 mg of sodium) and more food than we needed. In addition, because of all of the toppings, the sesame buns disintegrated before we finished them. Also, inflation has made beef expensive. Our meal (2 burgers, 1 small fry, 1 regular soda) came to $32.01, including tax but before tip. (March, 2024). The dining room, and restroom, was clean. I went to IHOP next door to Five Guys, a couple of weeks ago and saw they had a sign out that they now serve a patty melt. I love me a good patty melt. Since I already love Five Guys I was looking forward to having one. A traditional patty melt is a patty, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese on rye bread. I was told that it was served with mayo. I told them I didn't want mayo. They REFUSED to serve it without mayo. I spoke with the manager, he said that was the way it was made. Needless to say I ordered something else. read more

Our cook David made our order in a speedy time, and it was absolutely delicious and CORRECT. I will definitely go back to visit and eat the food here being that David made probably something close to a perfect burger. I commend the effort he put into making our dinner (I watched from start to finish) he is very dedicated to his work and being so I could tell this is his passion. Super thankful to have had the opportunity for him to be the cook of the evening, also the other two team members were nice as well. We had two double cheeseburgers $9.19 each with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, green peppers, and no buns. Our bill was $19.35 with sales tax. People were eating inside the restaurant, but our order was a take-out. Our cheeseburgers were very tasty and had the flavor that only comes from quality meat being cooked on a commercial grill. Their cheese is American. For me, this is a typical Five Guys restaurant. They have very friendly and helpful employees. The restaurant was very clean and plenty of space between tables. read more

Just used Uber Eats to get a Five Guys order. While I noticed that the Uber Driver stopped multiple times to pick up and drop off other orders, Five Guys is ultimately responsible and should communicate with this driver. The hamburgers were cold and the only reason why the fries were warm is that they probably dropped them into the bag right before the driver showed up. I have attached a picture of my son's grilled cheese sandwich. He didn't even eat it because it was like a piece of rubber. read more

I was heading after seeing the rating, especially since I'm pretty frugal, but I came by anyway. Cashier was friendly, burger was good, but it's still pricey. $5.19 for a little hamburger before tax. Let few bites were mostly lettuce but not ridiculously so. The workers were hanging out a bit so nobody was at the register at times but not when there were people. Walked in, Matthew B opened the door for me, greeted me, took my order, professional. Awesome! Great customer service.

This five guys was clean, quick, and friendly. We placed our order (lettuce burger wraps!) and waited maybe ten minutes. It was full at the time so it was a little bit of a wait but the team was organized and churned out the food. I was able to observe and everything was clean and neat (I get nervous when I see messy kitchens anywhere). Oh and the fries are not soggy - this is the only five guys I've gone to that does not have soggy fries. This particular restaurant has the perfect location! Imagine you've flown into Dulles and you're driving to Charlottesville. It's late afternoon and you're starting to get hungry since they no longer serve meals on the airlines. You can't stop right away because you need to head south before rush hour starts. About the time you think, 'I wish there was an In-N-Out so we could stop for a quick, decent burger.' there it is. Looking down on you from it's perch (next to the Startbucks drive-in - are they serious?!?!) on the hill: Five Guys! Somewhat reminiscent of In-N-Out's no frills 'anything you want that can be made with these ten ingredients,' Five Guys offers a hearty burger made to order with your choice of toppings (of which there are about 20). It looks like the burgers are hand-packed and even the 'Little Hamburger' is still a healthy size. The fries are made from fresh potatoes and spill over their containers. A sign on the wall announces, 'Today's potatoes are from Teton, Idaho.' Beware: The restaurants have whole peanuts to snack on and the fries are made in peanut oil, so this is not a peanut allergy-friendly zone! read more

Not Wonderful. I've eaten in several 5 Guys, and the burgers have all been ok, and the fries, spectacular. But not tonight in Warrenton. Too much mustard and ketchup, and the patty --which was GREY--kept sliding out of the bun. But the fries were hideous. Yes, they were hot and cooked through, but they were beyond greasy, and nary a crisp one in the bunch. Ugh. At almost $2.50 for a small order of fries (which is big enough for 2 or 3), I felt really ripped off. Should've gone to Outback down the hill; the meat would've been better. read more

If the meal we had Monday night is a sign, this place is in trouble. The burger was truly pathetic, the beef so overcooked there were pieces of hard gristle in the meat. Smashed bun. Not a tasty burger. I write this because this place has been better previously. It is an expensive burger and now completely unacceptable. Been here for takeout a few times. Place is always clean and food is generally fresh and tastes great. Only issue we have ever had is that the fries tend to be overly greasy. I'm not sure if they are not letting them drain enough or if they are old and I just don't pay attention. Because you go there, order two or three items per person for a party of two, and still get stung for close to or over $30. That's a lot of money, especially when you're ordering sparsely and carefully. At Denny's or IHOP, just doors away, you can get lovely full meals for the same expenditure. And the service.....having a burger shoved at you in a bag doesn't constitute a meaningful interaction. Remove that tip jar from the counter. Its presence is annoying and an imposition. I go out of my way for Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Seriously. I'm not a fan of traditional "fast food" and I generally steer clear of chains,but this small chain I adore and will drive out of my way to find when on a road trip. This location happens to be my hometown location so it is my favorite. It became a weekly habit when I was pregnant that I swore I'd give up once the baby was born, but he's now almost 10 months old and it's still a weekly habit (Little Cheeseburger, all the way plus jalapenos, regular fry, regular soda - I can order in my sleep). The burgers are fresh, the fries are fresh cut and fried in peanut oil (twice fried, if I'm not mistaken, which is the best way to do it). There's a sign on the wall that tells you where the fries are from that day. Usually some obscure town in Idaho. The staff are friendly and efficient. There's very little turnover in the staff, which means it must be a good place to work and I can see why. If you go there often enough they start to recognize you, ask how you're doing, remember what you order, etc. The menu is very limited: burgers, hot dogs, fries, soda/ice tea and water. They have peanuts to munch on while you wait, which is rarely for very long. Insider tip: call a few minutes before you arrive or (if the line is really long) from the parking lot. They'll have your burger ready by the time you pay, but fries are always cooked fresh when you arrive. Insider tip #2: use restraint when ordering fries, but definitely order them. They give you a LOT. The menu board shows the cup size they put the fries in, but what they do is fill the cup, put the cup in a paper bag and then dump extra fries into the bag. When going to five guys do not expect a gourmet burger made with ground sirloin. If you know what you are getting it is the best burger you can get. Make it your way and as messy or as simple as you want. If it wasn't good it was more than likely your fault. Be aware of the peanuts, you should not eat here if you have any kind of nut allergy. Pretty much all Five Guys are run about the same and there's no exception here. It's in a peculiar spot along a stretch of route 29 near Warrenton, so i guess it relies on travelers for a lot of it's business. I got my usual and a small french fries. And took it home, it traveled about as well as any five guy's burger. Like all 5 Guys they have complimentary peanuts and those new all in one soda fountains. My first visit to a Five Guys was just two weeks ago. I always heard so much about the place but had never actually stopped in. Took the kids and one day, after impatiently deciding on where to go, we ended up at Five Guys. Great experience. We all got the bacon cheeseburger. We got one large fries and one little fries. Half of a paper bag of fries! The kids' eyes were goggling at all the fries. They could not finish the burgers of course but I did. Customer service here was bad. The gentlemen at the register was very dry and bitter. I asked him what was wrong and he said "nothing". He proceeded to take my order but he came off as if We were part if his problem that we were there to place an order. When we sat down, he was staring at me at my sons and making comments to another girl. You could tell he was making comments. I guess because I challenged him at the register. Today was the best day of my life!!!! I walked into this five guys location and I was greeted by the ugly but cute kid behind the counter. His smile was so calming and genuine I instantly felt at home...I think I'm in love with him...I stepped up to order and ordered a burger :)) the service was so good it just made my day and on top of that the burger was soooo juicy and thicc it was the best burger I've ever had.
