First and last visit. I noticed how hot and humid it was as soon as I walked into the restaurant. The group ahead of us asked the cashier to turn on the AC. He politely told them the owner doesn't want him to adjust the temperature. When our order was brought to the table I asked also telling him it was too hot and the staff in the kitchen must be miserable. He looked nervous but said maybe he could adjust the temperature a little bit and hopefully the owner won't notice. It got a bit cooler as we are. Now for the food........it was so salty that neither of us finished our meals. No other flavor except for salt......so much salt and small portions. I ordered from your restaurant twice and both times I specifically asked for the food to be hot and spicy. In the past, you used a seasoning/spice blend that really made your food stand out from other places, and that was the reason I enjoyed ordering from you. Unfortunately, the first order was disappointing, and tonight's order was the same issue again. Hangry's is a classic. They always give almost a whole chicken thigh, it's massive. The Korean style coleslaw is delicious and the flavors on the chicken itself is plenty. I love the waffle fries as well. Service is quick, there's other items on the side like boba etc. the space is a classic fast food joint, but it's clean, people are friendly. read more

(Shout out to the young sista rocking the cash register). I ordered a strawberry drink which was absolutely delicious!!! I ordered the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with a hot rub and a side of waffle fries! The waffles fries were nice, crispy, and delicious! The chicken sandwich was loaded with flavor and fried to perfection! The aroma made my mouth water before even taking the first bite! A Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken just opened as of today in the Virginia Gateway retail complex. It's in the section of Virginia Gateway where the Giant Food is located. I've been to the Hangry Joe's location in Centreville, VA a couple of times now - so I knew what to expect. I ordered the fried chicken sammich combo - spice level - Medium. I'm a chili pepper head - and have previously tried the spice level which requires signing a waiver. I enjoy tasting heat at that heat/spice level - but I don't typically enjoy eating a whole meal at that heat/spice level. The sandwiches are made to order - so it takes a few minutes after you order for your food to come up. Hangry Joe's is seriously amazing in promenade. The food is flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked every time. You can really tell they care about quality. The service is just as great: friendly, fast, and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. On top of that, the atmosphere is awesome. First time trying Hangry Joe's and have heard good things. Ordered chicken tenders and they were delicious! Big pieces of meat, not too dry or hard, and lots of flavor. The orange sauce was bomb. Also love that they give you a good amount of sauce, unlike other places where you have to ask for extra. Waffle fries were also bomb, seasoned with flavor. They were crispy, which is how I personally like fries, but some may prefer soft and soggy. Price is slightly higher than what I would like, but reasonable enough for the occasional craving. The wild zing wings were sweet and spicy but not to spicy which was fine with me . The honey mustard was two thumbs up for me Which I am picky about honey mustard. So the husband and I decided to stop for a bite before doing some work. He owns his own commercial cleaning company and we have a couple of buildings out here. We say Hangry Joes and we decided to give it w try. It was just okay for us! The customer service was amazing. Food came out hot. Hubby got the chicken wrap with fries and I got the chicken sandwich with fries. Both were just okay. Hubby wrap barely had chicken but had a bunch of slaw. My sandwich just lacked flavor and wasn't as crispy and I would have liked it to be. Fries were decent and the Hangry Joe sauce was good. I had their Strawberry Fresh drink and in my opinion it was not good. We would not return but I'm glad we gave it a try. read more

I have never tasted chicken breast so juicy! Omg speechless! We came here many times and ate inside and the food was consistent. The reason for 3 stars is because we have ordered the food to go and the chicken wings and side salad tasted expired. Hangry Joe's is fire, pun intended hehe. This food is great! My favorite is the chicken wrap combo, comes with chicken wrap, fires, house sauce, and a drink. I found that this location is slightly higher in price than others and that they make their wraps smaller than the Fairfax location but overall, good food. The medium is spicy so I always opt for mild. If you can take heat, then go for medium- it burns soooo good! Service is great! It takes some time to get the food but you can tell they're always working as fast as possible. There are a few indoors tables and it's super cute inside with a bright energy! Highly recommend. We have been lacking a good quality place to get good wings with rich flavors. My "go to"used to be Jimbos, but they have gone downhill in my last few tries. Wait no longer.... Hangry Joes is "Good to Go". Deliciously seasoned wings with choices of dry rubs or sauces. I go for the hot dry rub. The wings are breaded to perfection (Korean style). They are juicier and meatier than most chains. I haven't tried much else, but my son and daughter are huge fans of the Boba drinks too. Judging by the lunchtime crowds... I'm not the only one. Stopped by for lunch. Didn't want to sign a waiver so I didn't get the hottest wings on menu but a half dozen the level below and a half dozen of hot. Plus the fries. Wing were cooked perfectly and were very large, which really surprised me. Ate all the fries, which was quite a bit and very good, and 3 of each order of wings, I wanted my wife to try them when I got back home. She couldn't touch the hottest ones but the regular hot were almost too hot for her, but she enjoyed them. Had the Chicken Sando Jr. with medium spice level. Medium was plenty spicy for me. It had just enough spice that I could still enjoy it and not feel like I was suffering. The smaller sized sandwich was still plenty big enough for me with 3 decent strips of chicken - a great deal in this day and age. I also like that they have a set menu with fries and a drink- you don't see that at most restaurants in the USA. The fries were excellent and the sauce was as well, both creamy and spicy. If I have any criticism, I would say that the chicken itself was a bit dry- I thought it would be a bit more moist to make up for the dry rub. Still- very delicious and I will be back. The store front is small and people are constantly going in and out. I can't say it was the most pleasant experience to dine in. This place opened up not too long ago I believe, it was the first time going. We ordered the chicken sandwich, as well as the chicken fries. Everything came out really well, and in a timely manner, given the lunch time rush as well. The staff were friendly and very patient which made you feel more at home and less of the feeling of being rushed. Loved the decor on the walls, modern and semi-graffiti like. I've had the chicken from hangry joes twice and while the food is prepared well I'm not big on their flavors. The heat is there but you don't get much else. I also think the slaw doesn't complement the heat, needs a stronger vinegar flavor. I also tried the wings which are breaded and fried nicely, but same comments on the flavor. Perhaps I'd enjoy more going with a milder heat and trying one of their other sauces. read more
