So me and Boston Bob checked out glory days, and overall, solid experience. Day 1, Delaney took care of us, two grown men with about four shared brain cells, and she never missed a beat. Drinks stayed full, food came fast, and she handled our nonsense like an FBI hostage negotiator who already knew we were the problem. ......so we came back the next day. This time we hit the bar, where Reilly and Steph ran the show. They kept the place moving like a Formula 1 pit crew while making everyone feel like regulars. They roast you just enough, keep the drinks flowing, and somehow juggle six conversations without breaking stride. At one point I'm pretty sure they solved world hunger, fixed the economy, and brought me another beer before I noticed mine was empty. Glory Days, whatever you're paying Delaney, Reilly, and Steph, it's not enough. They absolutely run that place. Boston Bob and I came in two days in a row because the service was that good. The chicken seemed to be breaded, fried, then tossed in a spices mixture which had large pieces of grainy spices in it - most notably salt, with a sweet and savory blend of spices. No honey mustard was provided, as is customary with chicken tenders - instead it was a creamy almost Thousand Island-like sauce. I definitely prefer Chili's chicken crispers over this. Oh my goodness, how much a place can change. The servers are incredibly attentive even the new ones so the training by the management must be awesome. Beer is cold. Food is hot specials are truly special. overall vibe is a nice neighborhood grill. They are returning the patio to Life, which is such a great way to unwind after work cold beer outside fresh air . Yesterday we ordered a full order of cheese fries for 11.99, and this was the portion size. Times can't be this tough, small portion size and an overall underwhelming presentation. A few of my buddies ordered boneless wings for $12.99, I compared the portion size of those to equivalent to about 7-8 Dino Nuggets from Costco. Yikes... what happened to my favorite place to eat when I visit home? Used to make all my friends get together to get wings and max and cheese fries here every year when I visited. Used to work at this location years back. Took myself to lunch today and ordered 12 wings, cheese fries. Mac n cheese and a piece of a cornbread and the only thing that came out even somewhat appetizing was the cornbread. The wings didn't even look correct. Rubbery, no crisp, none of the sauce on the wings, just in a puddle under them. The mac was cold and soupy, the extra shredded that is added by the server on top as garnish didn't even melt because it wasn't warm enough. The cheese fries probably would have been fine but I was just grossed out after trying one bite of the wing so I left. The service was fine no one was rude, but I just came to eat. Waste of 42 bucks, and a bummer first meal back in VA. read more

I was here the first of February 2020, the restaurant across the parking lot was closed. I had just flown in from Utah and was hungry & dying for a drink. This place totally surprised me, it's the best sports bar I've ever been in and I travel 12 month of the year all over the US. The beer was local and great, the bar tender was lovely and on point and I honestly can't say enough about the spaghetti. This was by far the best spaghetti I've had in a restaurant in years and years. It was so good I said I had to get back over there before I leave town. I was hungering for a good burger this evening - I thought that Glory Days Grill might be a good place for a burger. I've never been to a Glory Days before this evening. I ordered a burger with Blue Cheese and caramelized onions, medium-well, with fries, and a pint of Blue Moon. Quite frankly, the best thing about dinner was the beer. The burger was not that great - not a lot of flavor. And the fries were just okay. I will give them another shot down the road and try something else next time - but first time - I am not impressed. Oh, and this is a fairly new restaurant. So why is the restaurant festooned with old analog style/CRT TV's? There were a ton of 'em! I have eaten at many Glory Days locations and my experience at the Gainesville location left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. We arrived at lunch on a Sunday and were met with a very nice hostess. She sat us immediately and we waited 15 minutes until I walked back to the host stand to ask if someone could take our order. She then walked to 2 servers and both said they did not want our table. Finally, about 5 minutes after that another server greeted us. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer. These were awful, and thats a compliment. Some sort of imitation runny yellow cheese, a dollop of sour cream and some tomatoes. That was it. These were the worse nachos for a price tag of over $10. Do better! Our entire table ordered burgers and 2 of them had to be returned because the meat was not hot. The new burgers we received were hot, but it took about 15 minutes to get them. Overall, I was disappointed with this location. They seem very disorganized, food quality has gone done considerably and they need to look at serving portions. When one person has a huge amount of fries on their plate and the person next to them has a ¼ portion of what they received means that there is no quality control of what they are serving customers. read more

The biggest selling point for us is that our server and the manager went over ingredients in EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb. I am highly allergic to onions and the manager, our server, and the head cook were meticulous in making sure that none of my food even came into contact with onions. I've given this Glory Days a few chances, each time the food and service is subpar. The last time I went in was definitely the last time I'll ever go there. I got the "pulled pork bbq sandwich" and honestly, it was disgusting. The pork was fatty and not at all tender, it did not taste smoked, it tasted boiled. The mashed potatoes I got as a side were cold and flavorless. The same with the cheese fries, cold and flavorless. The restaurant was not busy at all, yet it took forever to get the food and drinks. Every time before we had the same deal, flavorless and cold food with lukewarm, slow service. Never again.
