Little Fries
Mark W.

It's time to start locking in! So this afternoon was probably one of the busiest afternoons I've had so far this year. Between going in to the Bottle Refund at the Stop & Shop on this same plaza and then making my way over to a storage unit I have over on Captain Neville, I decided to come here for lunch. Prior to this, I have only ever eaten at Five Guys in Norwalk. So about Five Guys, I hear mixed things about the cleanliness of the fast food franchise. As a child, I would be told that Five Guys was a very dirty fast food establishment where a lack of hygiene from employees would tell stories to others. Then I have heard that Five Guys is actually kept clean because managers are afraid an inspector might come in at any moment. At the end of the day, if you're gonna go to Five Guys, you have to form your opinion. Don't take others at their own word! For my visit to this location, I went with a bacon cheeseburger with A-1 Steak Sauce (yes, you can actually get that as a fast food condiment), the Little Fries because I know the bag normally gets loaded with fresh-cut fries, even with the smallest size, and a large soda. Today's fries apparently were shipped all the way from St. Anthony, Idaho, wherever that is. Still, the fries came out piping hot which is always a good thing, and they weren't bland at all. The burger tasted fine, nothing wrong with it. The A-1 Steak Sauce you can kind of taste, but there were some places where the cheese didn't completely melt (I prefer my sliced cheeses to have a good melt). It won't win any awards, but it'll get the job done. The ambiance I can get behind. It's actually decently clean, especially when you compare it to other fast food places such as a McDonald's or Chipotle. Even the bathrooms are inviting. One touch I really liked was that the music played was a nice compliment to the atmosphere this place had. Songs I Shazamed here include but are not limited to "Black Holes (Solid Ground)" by The Stones, "She's Kerosene" by The Interrupters, and "Ready and Willing" by New Found Glory. The employees are okay. No one really stood out to me as "AMG THEY'RE AMAZING, MAKE THEM CEO RIGHT THIS SECOND", but on the flip side no one really stood out to me as particularly rude either. They're your run-of-the-mill fast food employees, and that's all you really need to know. Now, I know I am rating this a 3, but really, consider this more of a 3 and a half. It's good, but you won't miss out on anything by not going here either.

Brand new Fives Guys! Everything is immaculate--the food, space, and service. I got my usual, bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and bbq sauce with an order of fries, it was delicious! I love that their Coke Freestyle option has a touch-less option which allows you to control with your phone. I definitely will be back.

I went to Five Guys, after deciding to try something else. Knowing this location was new, I have not been to one In years, so I decided to try this one. I went In and all I wanted was a burger and my I didn't realize how expensive they are. Toppings are free but my burger was almost ten dollars, no fries or drink. Now I know this aint Mcdonalds so It's not gonna be that fast. My order went In at 1:06 Pm and I got my order at about twenty minutes or so later. I took my burger to the car and was about to eat It. When I opened It up this Is what I saw. My order was a cheeseburger with tomato/onions/ketchup/mustard. I got all that with no burger. So back In we go and I explain my problem so I have to say the guy helping me was nice and remade my order. It's just to wait that long and have your order messed up just Is not good, and by the way to get a burger fries and drink your talking $25.00 or so. Just not worth It.

Where the $47 dollars worth of food?

I love a good five guys burger! Customer service is always on point. The restaurant itself is clean and nice for a quick sit down meal.

If you're craving a classic, no-frills, absolutely perfect hot dog, Frankie's is the place to go…read more The dogs are grilled just right with that perfect snap, the buns are always fresh, and the toppings--whether you're into chili, onions, sauerkraut, or just classic mustard--are spot on every time. But it's not just about the dogs. Their fries are golden and crispy, the onion rings are addictive, and the milkshakes hit the spot. The whole menu delivers that nostalgic, satisfying, comfort-food goodness that keeps you coming back. Service is always friendly and quick, and the retro vibe gives the whole place a fun, laid-back feel. You can tell this place has been doing it right for years--and it shows. Frankie's really is the hot dog king, and once you try it, you'll totally understand why!

I had to try the famous dogs... they were big, great bun, and I LOVE the fact that you put on your own condiments at the next window (read: not from packets!!). Service was outstanding. Friendly. Clearly a source of family pride. It had that feel of the place we all know and love from our childhood. I regret only getting hot dogs as I really don't love skinless franks. I was praying for snap. But... they were good. I can't wait to try a burger or the famous clams. Next time - no dogs. All other things. I'm sure they'll be outstanding. Clearly they're doing something right.

This is really just another Popeye's when it comes down to it. That being said, back when I…read morereviewed the KFC over on West Main, there were other reviews that recommended going to Popeye's over them. When I saw that, I knew this place had to get a review as well, and I've had them enough times that I can review them something proper without even having gone here in a while. Food from this location is really no better or worse than the Norwalk location. Like there, if you've been to this one you've kind of been to them all. However, one thing this location lacked was in its interior. Here, you're just walking into another lifeless fast food establishment. There's nothing that gives it that Louisiana flair. Another pitfall that came about coming here came when AJ's moved into its spot on the other side of this plaza. Now, price point here isn't bad, but ever since Aroma Joe's moved in, this is no longer even the cheapest option you can have. So what we have now is a spot I used to stop by sometimes on a trip to Wal-Mart whenever I needed something to eat. Not so much anymore.
