I couldn't get internet while in the convention area of the supper club so could not check in. I took a few pictures before the crowd filled in. We were in the bottom/basement of the building which is a banquet area. My review is solely on this experience and on the banquet buffet served. Walking into the facility you were given a warm feeling with the decorative waterfall basin, couch/chairs and warmly lit table lights. The banquet hall was spacious and has its own bar area. It was set up for the amount of people in attendance (about 60) and had a head table. The buffet food was good. As I have been to about 20 catered events around the state this past year I would say the food was on the higher end of delicious. Our buffet consisted of bun/butter, green beans, mashed potatoes, Cole slaw, slices of beef roast in gravy, chicken wings and desserts that I'm thinking we're brought in homemade which were awesome. I can picture this banquet hall lit up and decorated for a wedding or other occasion and would say it looks to be a great facility to use for that purpose. Now that I know of this place I would like to come back and try out the restaurant. read more

We tried 5 Pillars based on Yelp reviews because we were in the area & wanted a fish fry. The hostess & waitresses were all very accommodating. They offered a "supper club" salad bar & a fish/chicken buffet. I tried the buffet so I could try more than one thing. If we would go back again, I would order the the regular fish fry as I liked it best. My hubby really enjoyed the German potato salad. Enjoyed a few well made cocktails at the bar when it opened at 4:30 and appreciated a very good meal on a Tuesday night. One waitress provided service for several tables, but she was amazing. Efficient, friendly, and pleasant, despite having to run in all different directions. Took time to check on us more than once, provide leftover containers, and recite quite a long list of desserts. Surf and turf and Sicilian steak were nicely prepared and presented. Hash browns were perfect, and Schaum tortes topped off a worthwhile first time experience here. read more

It's about time I start writing reviews about restaurants in our new stomping ground. Five Pillars is very close to where we live now, and we finally decided to swing by on Friday night for a fish fry. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was the curvy supper club-style bar with plush seating. This was a good sign, and at that moment I decided they probably serve a pretty good old-fashioned. So we were seated and I ordered a brandy old-fashioned with seltzer, which I drank happily. It wasn't made with a mix and tasted great. They also have local beer (3 Sheeps), which made Bryan happy. Very reasonable pricing on those drinks as well, as my old-fashioned and two beers added up to a whopping $10.50. For Friday night fish fry, you have a choice between the 'plate' or the 'dinner.' The plate is just your choice of fish, potato, and coleslaw. The dinner includes a trip to the salad bar, soup, bread, and your choice of fish and potato. We opted for the dinner, because it's just a few bucks more. Definitely filled us up, and it was pretty good. I've been to better salad bars at supper clubs (see below for my review on Black Angus...drool), but this one was alright. The star of the show was definitely the fish. I opted for the snow cod while Bryan ordered the pan-fried rainbow trout. Both were delicious, as were the potato pancakes that I ordered. We didn't save room for dessert, but from what I overheard they had shortcake, pie, ice cream, etc. Our service was excellent. Our waitress took time to talk to us and we ended up learning that her sister is our neighbor. Everyone we encountered in this establishment was polite and just wanted to make sure we had a good experience. We will definitely return! read more

Not to bad for my 1st visit to a Supper Club. The portions were extremely generous for the price, but the interior seemed a little dated. With it being in a small town, it was great to have that small town feel, and if ever had the chance to return we would. Service was good and prompt and food was filling. read more

This is our very favorite dining place for several years! It is family owned and they make you feel at home. There is a nice variety of food to choose from and a very nice salad bar. Went for lunch on a Sunday morning. Their lunch buffet was not great: it had breakfast and lunch options but neither were very good. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes or French toast sticks, bacon, sausage, and eggs. Nothing was worth the price we paid for the buffet. I expected more options and more freshly made food. Went with a large group for Easter Brunch. Really good food, tasty dessert choices, and a very attentive and pleasant waitress. Big downside for us was that they turn tables every hour which was not enough time with small children along or, frankly, time for visiting. Wish we had known that ahead of time. Went with my wife on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was about half full, so we were seated right away. The waitress was pleasant and knew her business. We were well taken care of throughout the meal. My wife ordered the stuffed flounder with hash browns. She said that the flounder tasked a bit fishy. The Hollandaise sauce had a bunch of lemon seeds in it but tasted OK. I asked her if she wanted to send it back and she said no, it wasn't that bad. I had the "Princess Cut" prime rib. This was supposed to be 9 oz but my wife thought it was bigger, more like 12 - 14 oz. The prime rib was cooked medium as I had requested. The prime rib was OK, tender and juicy without too much fat. We both had the hash browns. The waitress told us that they made their own at the restaurant. These were really good, crisp on the outside and tender inside. The soup and salad bar are typical supper club. The soup was Loaded Potato, tasted home made and was very good. The salad bar was good with the exception of the lettuce pieces being much too large. Need a little more supervision on the salad prep! Five Pillars is a typical small town Wisconsin supper club. A good value for the money, good service and good food. This is not a fine dining experience but is the place to go for some traditional food and friendly service. read more

Went there a few years back for our anniversary, we had a reservation, they placed us by the bar which was quite noisey so we asked to move since it was very empty at the time because we went pretty early which seem to irritate staff from the beginning, my husband ordered something with no mushrooms and it arrived with mushrooms, he sent it back and clearly you could see they picked them out simce there were large holes where they removed the mushrooms and when it was brought back it was cold. There was bread served and I asked the waitress if there were poppyseeds on it because of a few black specks and she said no, on closer inspection it was mold. After our meal I asked to speak to the manager after paying for a unpleasant meal on our special day to share my dining experience and pretty much she told me she could have cared less and asked me if I had a reservation which I said yes, no apology from her. It was a horrible way to spend our anniversary. Never will recommend them. read more

Not sure why you would put something on your menu and not have a very good, or descent product. We had the Lake Perch, and there was more breading than fish. Prices were descent but I would be willing to pay more for a great meal. Was really quite surprised by the whole experience. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

The Sunday brunch is small and basic with institutional food. Turkey roll, instant potatoes(?), gross macaroni and cheese, rubbery pancakes, basic dessert bars. The chicken and fish were okay. Worst brandy old fashioned we've had. Get a chef folks. I can open packaged food at home. No imagination and no nearby competition let this place get lazy. Could be so much better. read more

I recently got married in May 2014 and had the privalage to have it at the Five Pillars. From the moment I booked the venue to the end of my wedding night I had a smooth and relaxing experience. They customized the menu to give my very demanding (and lovable) husband the pig roast he wanted. The food was fantastic and everyone loved it! They created a beautiful atmosphere for not only the reception held in their large hall but all the ceremony held outside in their gazebo.
