National Chicken Wing Day in 2024 coincided with a Monday, a popular day for restaurants to be closed, and I found myself in Slinger around dinner time wanting wings. Luckily, Sheryl's Club 175 isn't far from Slinger, was open, and had wings on the menu. I ordered a dozen wings to go with "The Rub". "The Rub" is really just Caribbean jerk. Nothing mysterious about it other than the name on the menu. It had some heat and good flavor. They could have used more of it on the wings and I wouldn't have complained. I thought the wings were well sized. They are fried, but have no breading to speak of, so not much of a crunch to them. Still good though. Probably not a new go to place for wings for me just based on their location, but I'd get them again if I'm in the area. read more

I was in the area around lunchtime and since it was a book mark I decided to go get a refreshing cocktail and some lunch on a humid day. The place is a big space with a big bar, dining rooms and an outdoor patio. The place is nothing fancy but it is a nice place and not a dive. My buddy got me into Gin not long ago and how could I have never got into Gin before so I wanted a Gin Rickey because they are refreshing so I ordered one. The bartender had this blank look on her face and asked me what did I ask for and she had never heard of the drink so I tell her it's gin, carbonated water and half a lime juice. She brings my drink over and says they are out of limes so my Gin Rickey looks pathetic and I must have got commercial lime juice which was not like the real thing. How the F does a bar not have limes to make cocktails is beyond me. I ordered the 6 jumbo wings tossed in Franks hot sauce which comes with ranch or blue cheese the menu states but I was given ranch and never asked what I wanted. The wings looked good with some celery but only two wings were jumbo and four were regular which was odd, see my pictures. The wings were on the dry side and a little tough like frozen but they were just OK and they were all drummys which was odd again because you usually get a mix of sections. The celery twigs were fresh and crisp while the ranch sauce was completely average lacking that big tang of a really good ranch. Overall my drink and food was completely average but it's a nice place filled with locals and noisy for how few people were at the bar, maybe 10 at the most. read more

We come in for Taco Tuesday a lot. Mari the bartender is the hardest working person on the planet. The food is always great. Sheryl, the owner, is warm and caring. We normally come in with the lunch crowd, but sometimes we come in for fish (obviously on Fridays). Their perch is excellent. The clientele ranges from young to old and all walks of life. The environment is welcoming and safe for everyone. We've had family parties there as well. Younger children were not a problem. Sheryl's is a great place for group gatherings. We have never had a negative experience with our parties, and we have had several there. Overall, it's a great place! read more

This was our second time trying out Sheryl's Club. We had been there years ago and the experience was not very memorable. Sheryl's Club has limited table seating but a very large bar. It's seat your self style. We got there around 4:30pm and it was pretty empty. When we left around 5:30pm there was only 2 other tables sat with customers. Surprising since we had such a positive experience. They also have free popcorn which is a WINNER, WINNER Fish Fry Dinner in my book! :) Service was good. Our waitress (Mariah?) was also the bartender so she was VERY busy but still tried her very best to be attentive. She was super friendly and made a GREAT Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioneds are hand muddled and no mix was used. I was asked if I wanted a short or tall and I ordered the tall. $7.75 was a great prices for a strong drink. It tasted great! Cheese curds were good. They were breaded with masa (corn flour) which added a nice crunch. They came with ranch and the portion was huge for the 2 of us. Beer batter cod fillets were small. I felt like there wasn't enough seasoning to the batter. But it was cooked well, had good coloring, was crispy and was not greasy. Thank goodness for table salt! (My husband keeps saying I need to carry a little shaker of Lawry's in my purse, maybe he's right!) Now for the best part - The POTATO PANCAKES!!! Wow. I would've been happy with just a plate of these. They use shredded potatoes and make their own pancakes. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy and light on the inside. Comes with syrup & apple sauce. Yum, Yum, Yum! We had a really good experience. I'm not sure why this place wasn't more busy. Maybe it's still a hidden gem. Fish is good, my husband loved his burger, the potato pancakes are A MUST and the Old Fashioned was the cherry on top the meal. We will be back. read more

Nice place physically -- updated, large, roomy! Food was fine except they allowed us to order chicken which they were "out of". One in our party had to reorder after 15 minutes or so. His plate came out after ours. Later we ordered another round of Spotted Cows which they came back and said they were "out of". I know that happens, but seems like the "out of" info could have been up to date at the point of ordering. Good thing we were not in a hurry. read more

Stopped in last night at 7:30 PM for a couple drinks. Sat at the bar with a friend of mine and waited 13 minutes to get a beverage. One of the bartenders was standing on a chair or table entertaining the west side of the bar. After 8 minutes of waiting patiently a bartender said we will be with you shortly. Then a second bartender who was previously mentioned provided the same response as the first. Both bartenders went on socializing with their friends another 5 minutes and still no one came by to take our order. The bar had about 18 people at it. I have eaten the Friday fish Fry here at least a 50 times all of which were excellent. It's too bad the service last night was awful. read more

We've driven by this place like a 100 times on our way back and forth from our lake house this summer and keep saying we need to stop. So glad on 4th of July all of our normal haunts were not open. Super friendly bartenders and gotta tell ya....had a fabulous, hand muddled Old Fashioned. We went with an appetizer dinner. Reuben rolls and street tacos. Both excellent and definitely fresh. They were piping hot! First time I would ever say thanks to construction which helped us discover this place. Looks like a ton of fun just as a bar to stop at too. read more

Highly disappointed in this establishment. Advised us we could book a high school graduation party. We took the time to go see the venue, and book it. Wrote a deposit check which THEY CASHED. The Owner and/or Management decided they did not want the risk of having minors in their facility, despite the fact that it is a family atmosphere. Instead of the owner or management calling me, they have the young gal call me to deliver the news of the fact that won't honor the business arrangement. She was clearly uncomfortable with the call, and I could hear the Manager in the background bellowing what she should say. A better way to handle - the decision maker calls and takes the heat for their very large mistake, and not send in someone else to do their dirty work. And when the Manager got on the phone at my request, she did NOT apologize. She chastised me for taking issue w/ all of this, and became very argumentative & condescending. She then said I could pick up $75 in cash, for reimbursement of my check they cashed. No - you can mail me a check, so I don't waste any more of my time. A bad situation that could have been handled a lot better by those who are supposed to be in charge. Again - their decision. I would have respected it had it been handled a lot better. No remorse whatsoever, and actually quite the opposite. Know what you are agreeing to when you book a party, don't spend my money and not honor your commitment and then handle the bail out on your end so unprofessionally. read more

The kitchen always has the best food. The kitchen manager and bartenders make the process & experience so smooth, fun and enjoyable. Normally when you order bar food it takes a bit, here it came so quickly and tasted so amazing. Would 10/10 recommend their food & come back. read more

Yet another gem found during an off-the-beaten path cruise. Do not let it fool you. It has "on the side of the road" curb appeal. It is like walking into the grand dame of bars. The interior looks brand new and it has a massive bar. The food is above average bar fare too. Nachos get me every time, and Sheryl's does it right. Opt for the chicken, and you will enjoy some juicy pieces of white meat. Maybe it's not prepped out back on a grill, but it is delicious nonetheless. This would be a great stop in the summer too, when the patio can be utilized. read more

This place is a little gem located in Ackerville, WI, it's listed as Slinger, but it's down the road a bit and worth seeking out. I've been taking my 90ish year old Mother there for years. This place gets better every year. At one point the service was erratic, but that has been fixed. The food has always been good, now it's exceptional for a place like the "Swanky Road House" that it is, complete with classic music icons adorning the walls. It has Panko breaded fish and thick, hand cut, lightly dusted onion rings. I'm partial to the fish tacos, stuffed with slices of avocado, great veggie salsa and swizzled with their special sauce. Mom had the hand muddled Peach Old Fashion and it was a "Killer" drink. I'm a Cucumber Press vodka guy, these folks can mix a drink. Don't tell too many people about Sheryl's, I love hidden gems and Mom says it's "The Bomb," she's getting more like Betty White every day. The women who run this place, trained by the real Sheryl, have really got their act together. Bravo! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday, early afternoon. Clean bar and seating area. Found menu hard to navigate. Food was average. Service wasn't impressive. Very expensive for what we received. Would not recommend. 4 people lunch was $70. No free refills on soda that was not mentioned until we got the bill. read more

I have to give it to the owners for cleaning up the place. the menu appears to be put together with some serious thought and effort. The atmosphere is less hostile, and the decor has made huge improvements. The food ain't so bad either! read more

We have eaten here several times and have had good food and service, HOWEVER, the last time we were there we waited 20 before a waitress asked if we had been helped. Then we ordered and waited over 90 minutes for a 4 piece fish fry and a hamburger. No explanation was given and it was not busy. read more
