Came in for all the dashboard lights being lit up. Sat and waited and chatted for 30+minutes until I asked if the test was done (they said it would take 15min tops), he said he had it and it'd been done for 25mins... did not mention it was done, I was under the impression we were waiting for the results, not that he had them the whole time and I had to ask for them...odd. Then I was told I would need to do an additional $250 test. I had to ask why the additional tests were necessary and again ask what the first test was for and what the diagnostic was. After bs-ing me I just Said I needed to leave for an appointment and would "come back" for the additional testing. Went to Murray's auto (LOVE them) and they told me neither test would've done anything for the problem I had and they were able to diagnose and fix with a simple $70 test vs the $350 total in useless tests five points tried to make me buy... Wow - where to start? This was an experience. I don't write reviews, but this is a PSA for anyone considering bringing their vehicle here, DO NOT DO IT! Believe the reviews that have been written more recently, rather than the ones from previous ownership years ago. The customer service, communication, and environment should have made me run. I came in for a repair. I asked him to let me know if he could repair it, or if I should go to the dealership? He shamed me for suggesting he couldn't fix my vehicle. However, he didn't repair it but charged me for "reading the computer." Then, requested more money before he would be able to tell me what the problem was--it was surreal. read more

I had a problem with a panel from under my car unexpectedly coming loose and dragging under my car. I didn't want to drive the car as I wasn't sure what was dragging. I pulled over and asked someone where I could go and he suggested Five Points Service Center. Neil took the dragging plate off and placed it in my trunk., so I could then check in with the dealer for the part. Christina and Neil were very friendly and kind. They were just about to leave on a short family vacation, but they took their time to help me and I appreciated that very much. Something is going on here and its not good. I have taken cars here for more than 25 years and always got good care. However, last month I called and had to leave a message, did that twice and no message returned. Then I called first thing Monday am and a very surly man answered (not my usual guy) and said some weird things and that he would have 'the girl' call me. that was 4 weeks ago. Under new management. The place I normally go to had their NC inspectors lose their licenses. I was under a time crunch and had this place recommended to me. They were able to inspect my truck pretty quickly. They seemed friendly enough. read more

Where to begin? Customer for 3+ years under old ownership. Always received prompt service (same day) but husband also felt like repair bills were very high for a regularly maintained vehicle. Found out that old manager was supposedly bilking customers for excess repairs after the fact. Took car in for regular maintenance under new ownership and was quoted 6k+ in repairs. We almost considered buying a new car because we were so shocked by this figure! Was told my car would imminently be in non-working order. When I questioned what was absolutely necessary (repair wise) to keep the car running, new owner attempted to bargain with me. What? Why are we talking about what I can afford if each of the items supposedly wrong on my car will render it useless? I was super creeped out and said we needed to talk over costs/repairs as a family. I took my car for a second opinion the next day and was charged less than $100 for a once over. All that was needed was a new filter on my A/c system. No joke. New service center was horrified at the cost of even an oil change at 5 Points Service Center. Long story short...Car has been running great for over a year now with several out of state trips and just basic maintenance. Please do yourself a favor and seek a reputable service center. I feel so foolish for trusting this place for years because they were convenient. There are service centers in the same area that don't try to negotiate or up charge you if you do a little research. read more

I never post reviews but felt I needed to let others know to BEWARE. I have used this place for years and had satisfactory results. However, last week I took my car in when a check coolant light came on. The fast talking mechanic Neil suggested "diagnostic testing". Three days later at closing time he called me to come pick up the car and I had extra, unexpected charges added to my bill. He said he would compensate me with work on the car later. In talking with several neighbors later, I learned that they too had similar experiences--overcharges!! BEWARE! read more

Worst experience ever!! We took our car in for a new starter. Neil claimed he did all of this other work on the car which we NEVER approved. We have found out he has done this to several people. Our starter cost us $2,500. He is a total scam artist who lies and will take advantage of everyone he can. We are in the process of working with the Attorney General's office to get our money back and have him shut down. read more

Niel completed an oil leak and cooling leak fix on time and relatively inexpensively. The engine looks and sounds great now.

First, I am incredibly grateful that Neil is now not just the owner of Five Points, but he continues as the sole Master Auto Tech -- and that Kelly continues to be in the office with her professional, calming, reassuring presence! While it is seriously unfortunate what they have endured as a result of the previous office manager, their resilience and sincere dedication to the community has much to be lauded! (I, too, had negative experiences when dealing with the previous manager; I was told one thing by him -- not owner, but the person who worked in the office -- and then surprised by the bill because of charges that I didn't authorize. I was later told by Neil that he was told that I'd authorized the work, but I hadn't -- I hadn't even been contacted -- so Neil had been lied to, too. It was frustrating, though Neil sincerely apologized for it -- though completely not his fault!) Work done on my car has been thorough, expertly done & my car runs better than prior to being seen by Neil! I've come in for inspections, oil changes, maintenance and of course, nails in my tires (ugh!). I know that cars are expensive (no one brings home a baby as a one-time expense! same with cars!) and must be properly maintained (my dad works with cars, too, so I developed a reverence for them!), and as with anything: you get what you pay for, and I know by taking my car to Five Points, my car is being serviced just as well as the most expensive car on the lot, and definitely better than at other service stations (mistakes had been found & corrected, thus why I now ONLY go to Five Points!), for a truly fair price. I don't know how Neil does it, but he makes it all look so easy -- and it's just him servicing all of the cars! I know that he will often come in on the weekends and work late into the evening; if that's not dedication??? Five Points and Neil are such a credit to the community! read more

This beauty of a screw was in my tire this morning -- and thanks to Neil, he saved the day because the puncture is now fully repaired and sealed! In fact, he uses a sealant that will never leak and will definitely outlast the life of the tire (he's done repairs for my tires before -- never a problem afterward!). read more

They gave her an extremely high estimate to repair her Jeep, so we had it towed back home to High Point for our local mechanic to give a second opinion. Turns out Five Points made it up. Bogus repair quotes. On top of that, they charged her $200.00 for the estimate(no repair). Despicable. Just don't go there. read more
