AAA towed my car here after they were already closed, and I was really stressed about the situation. First thing in the morning when they opened, they called me right away, which I really appreciated. I drive an older Pontiac & she seems to always need something fixed. I trust the guys at Five Star every time. They never make me feel dumb for asking questions, they walk me through what needs to be done as well as what it'll cost and they never pressure me to do more than what is needed at the time. I took my car to Pepboys once on a weekend because Five Star was closed when I noticed an issue & boy was that a mistake. Pepboys charged me for a repair that didn't even fix the problem BUT when I took it to Five Star the following Monday, they were able to find the actual problem & didn't charge me an arm and a leg for it. My only complaint could be about the lack of weekend hours, but honestly, I get it. We all need to rest at some point. I should note, however, that they do have an overnight key drop which is convenient for when I work earlier than they open the next day. read more

Terrible experience which is a shame because it's a great location and would do well if he was a reputable guy. We brought our truck in for service which we thought would be like $150. He called us and quoted $350 which is a ridiculous price. We told him no thank you that we would be picking our truck up the next morning. He said if you want your truck you need to pay $50 for the estimate. He said it was a half hour of labor. That's no way to do business in a town where he could be getting referrals. Recently visited Five Star Automotive to request a cost for furnishing and installing a new fuel filter for my SUV. I found no one at the customer waiting area so I called out through the shop doorway alerting anyone there of my presence. After several moments, a man that was in the shop came into the front office. I asked for a price to install a fuel filter, giving him my vehicle's specs.. He then pointed across the street to the NAPA auto parts store and told me that was where I could get the filter. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I presumed that he did not understand that I came to Five Star to furnish and install the fuel filter. I then asked if he was the Owner; he replied he was. I clarified for him that I wanted Five Star to furnish and install the filter. He then exhibited a degree of annoyance, telling me he was busy in the shop and could not give me a price, yet to leave my phone number for him to call. I told him I preferred to be given the price while I waited. Continuing to show annoyance, he made one phone call to a parts supplier and then gave me a price. Frankly, he actually did me a favor by helping me make the decision that I would not be having any work done on my vehicles at Five Star Automotive. Five Star Auto is literally worth 5 stars. I've been servicing my car with them for almost 10 years. Jo (the owner) has always been polite and is extremely efficient. He often came up with creative solutions that would fix the problem in my car, but cost way less than a traditional solution. He's up front about timing - how long it might take - and estimated pricing. For jobs over $50, he always calls to make sure I'm ok with it, and has never charged me above the agreed upon price. I have had only the best experiences with Five Star Auto. I've been going there for years, and at this time, they've worked on 3 of my vehicles and I have never been disappointed. Their prices are very fair and the sevice is excellent. I either call beforehand to make an appointment or, many times, the same day, and they always fit me in and usually get the work done that day if it's not too big of a job. They've performed oil changes, tune-ups, trailer hitch installation, battery issues, brake repair/replacement, and even repaired a jammed gear shifter, amongst other things. I only wish I had gone to them a lot earlier. It would have saved me much money and aggravation. read more
