Jerry's was the second estimate we got to replace our flooring after a flood. He brought samples of a laminate, which I was initially opposed to, and convinced us it was a good option because of price and durability. But most important was that it looked good. We had been considering engineered hardwood but that would have cost 4 times as much. Today the installation was completed. His crew was fast, hard working, professional, and pleasant. After they left, I realized that some of the furniture was not where we wanted it and we were unable to move it ourselves. Even though it was a Friday afternoon with miserable traffic, Jerry and his son came back and moved the furniture for us. That was above and beyond. The floors are beautiful. Our carpet was overdue to be replaced. Our biggest concern was the master closet which had floor to ceiling permanently mounted shelving. Ed was able to problem solve and install the carpet between each support shelf. Additionally, Noe and Mario were skilled craftsmen and installed the carpet in our office, spare bedroom, and dining room. Our house looks brand new. The Five Star Floor Team arrived on time and completed the installation by early afternoon. Furniture was moved and returned to its original position. Absolutely EXCELLENT Mohawk Ultrawood Plus engineered hardwood flooring expertly installed by Edwardo & crew! We had ~1,300 sq ft (6 rooms + long hallway) installed in 2 days with removing carpeting & installing new wood trim a few weeks ago. We have an insane golden retriever that loves to run in our home. She tried racing down our hallway the day it was installed. She tried to dig in her claws to make the corner & smashed into our wall. She has been slowly learning that her claws do not work on our new flooring. There is absolutely no damage at all to our new Mohawk Ultrawood hardwood flooring. Super-duper glad we went with these guys. We nearly went with a diff local store but heard about Five Star Floors from a neighbor and decided to check them out. Joe is fantastic! No nonsense and no pushy upselling tactics. He recommended the perfect floors for our budget and needs in about 2 mins and about 15 mins after that, I walked out with a sample in hand and an appointment to get the estimate done. Roger came out the next day and Joe called me back later that day with a quote. He was able to beat the lowest quote we had by about 10%! Ok, so this review has been looong, LONG overdue. I first got in touch with Joe, from Five Star Floors back in 2016. We had just bought our home and wanted to change the crappy carpets and replace/update the wood floors. Joe responded to my request, came in to measure and gave me a great quote, all within the first week itself. We scheduled something on the calendar and the work was carried out without a hitch. His crew were extremely polite, professional and the job was completed on time. But the above is true for any business that gets a 5 star rating right? So what sets Five Star apart? Well, fast forward to July 2021. My dogs thought ripping out the "transition strips" that connected our floors to our tiles was a fun thing to do. Now, mind you, I haven't had any more jobs done via Joe since 2016 (coz well, there're only so many floors and carpets one can change); and I needed those strips changed in literally a week and a half. So I go to see Joe and let him know of my problem, give him my obnoxiously tight time crunch, and am pretty sure he's gonna say, "Sorry, I just don't have the time." - which he did - But he also followed that up with, "But you know, I stand behind my work and I'll see what I can do." Joe was able place the order for the specific product, get the strips replaced within my timeframe, and he did all this without charging me anything coz as he said before he stands behind his work. (even though my dogs being mutts had nothing to do with his quality of work). So will I be approaching him for future jobs or recommending Joe and/or Five Star Floors to anyone? We had both carpeting and vinyl plank flooring installed a couple years ago. Recently, we had a gap appear between two of the planks (they had shifted a bit). I emailed Joe at Five Star Floors with photos of the gap. He called me the next morning and asked if he could send someone out right away to take care of it. His installers were on another job in the area and came over about 2 hours later and promptly fixed the issue. While they were there, I asked them what I could do about a plank that had been chipped by my office chair. He got out some filler and filled in the damaged area and told me that I needed a mat under my office chair to prevent it in the future. All of this was done at no charge, even though their work had technically been out of warranty for about a year. Great service! read more
