I came here for happy hour with some coworkers and we had such a great experience! We called ahead to reserve seating for about 15 people and they gave us a nice little section with a TV where we were even able to watch the Dodgers game! Monica and Max were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the entire time. We all had separate tabs open for our own food and drinks and they handled everything so smoothly, especially with such a large group. Happy hour is from 4 to 6 PM and is definitely worth it! Even if you don't make it for happy hour, the food and drinks are still amazing. I definitely recommend the lychee margarita and the bread pudding. Both were so good! I believe they also offer three hours of parking validation. Just let them know and they'll give you a sticker for your parking ticket to scan. An amazing spot to relax, grab some great food and drinks, and watch sports games. The sports bar is beautiful, with plenty of rooms and many TVs around. When I came, they were playing a Dodgers game, but I'm sure they show various types of sports when the season begins. Now for the service, we were greeted by Xavier, and he was phenomenal at explaining the popular drinks and food. Plus, he always came and checked up on us for anything we needed. We got seated at a nice round table with a TV next to it with our reservation, though I'm not entirely sure if reservations are needed, at least at 6 PM on a Friday night. When we sat down, they served us a bowl of popcorn, which is complimentary for everyone. Now for the food, these are the items I tried. Lantern Salad - Super refreshing and unique salad. They told me this is a trial salad, and I liked it. A nice start to a meal. (3.5/5) Shrimp Tacos - Pretty good. These come double-wrapped, which I typically prefer single-wrapped tortillas, but the flavors were solid and they came with salsa. Nice! (4/5) Ahi Tuna Tostadas - Would totally recommend this one. The fish was fresh on a nice crispy chip. Well-balanced flavors. (5/5) Bulgogi Ribeye Boats - This is from happy hour, and I personally enjoyed this one. My wife said it was a bit spicy for her, but I liked it. If you enjoy potato skins/baked potatoes, this is solid. (5/5) Five 5 Burger - This is another item from the happy hour menu, and it's a classic, nice burger. Kind of tasted like In-N-Out. No fries if you order from the HH menu, though, but the burger itself is nice. (4/5) Cuban Sandwich Baguette - They celebrated National Sandwich Month, and this was the selection from when I came. It's a nice, toasty sandwich, and it was really good. Came with fresh-cut fries as well. Solid. (4.5/5) Chef's Bread Pudding - A must-get if you have a sweet tooth. It's heavy and the portion is quite large. Personally, I would share this with 4 people. Yum. (4.5/5) Drinks - I forgot what drinks I got, but they were some blueberry and watermelon drinks with non-alcoholic liquor, so they can pretty much make any drink without alcohol if you don't drink. Really satisfying. (5/5) Overall, this might be my new go-to sports bar for happy hour and to watch Lakers games. Excellent service from Xavier and the staff, with delicious American-style food located at the Marriott in Monterey Park. Parking - Super easy. Marriott has an underground parking lot, and they give 3 hours of complimentary validation while eating here. You can also park across the street at Atlantic Times Square parking lot and walk over if that is your cup of tea too. read more

We came in on a Sunday evening and they had told us that they had just started making Sunday all day happy hour. For drinks we ordered the Japanese Old Fashioned ($10), and a couple draft beers ($6 each), and for food we ordered the Five55 Burger ($12 for burger only) and the Pepperoni Flatbread ($17) (the only item not from the happy hour menu). The drinks were great and it was nice to spend some time down there to just chill and relax and have a couple drinks. The food was okay, I would think it's a bit pricey for what you get, but it's more to keep from drinking on an empty stomach. Our servers were great. They kept checking in on us to make sure we were doing well. They were all so nice and were quick to bring anything we requested to us. If I just want to chill and talk with some friends this is a nice place to hang out. It's not too loud in there and they even have some games to play. Went here after work for a quick bite with a friend. Firstly I want to start off by saying that service was really nice and effecianr! I left my debit card at the restaurant and they kept it safe for me which is always a good sign. The dodgers were playing so it was a bit loud as people were cheering but over all it was a clean aesthetic environment! The food was ok. Came last night at 11:15pm. They close at midnight. As soon as the waiter saw us walk in, he gave us that look that he didn't want to serve us. He sat us and said last call is in 5 minutes. That's fine, we placed an order for 2 cocktails and a pitcher. He told us they are not doing pitchers because they are almost closing. Wtf? So we placed an order for a few beers which essentially was the same amount as the pitcher but it cost us more money. When the check arrived, we were not charged happy hour prices. I questioned him about it and he asked us "what day is today?". I had to remind the waiter that today, a Saturday, the place that he worked at, offered late night happy hour. Unbelievable. Came here with a friend on a random Tuesday night. We didn't realize that this was a hotel bar... you have to enter through the main Courtyard Mariott entrance, walk past the fancy Chinese restaurant and you'll find Five55. We both thought we got lost! I'd recommend street parking in the neighborhood as opposed to dealing with the underground hotel parking and paying. One of the servers offered us free, fresh popcorn in cute little bags, which was nice! As another reviewer mentioned, this place felt like much more of a hotel lounge than a sports bar... quiet, low energy but a nice, more upscale ambiance. We were looking for a wine bar in the area and decided to come here, but unfortunately, they were out of almost half the red wines on the menu. The food, however, was really good! We ordered the fried artichoke hearts with aioli for dipping, and the flatbread with pepperoni, burrata and hot honey. I would marry burrata cheese if it were legal to do so, and this flatbread was delicious... the bread was a buttery, fluffy, focaccia-type and with so much flavor. Prices were on the higher side, but we enjoyed the food. I hope they consider a reverse/late night happy hour in the future! read more

I've been meaning to write this review because my wife and I have been coming to Five55 for a while now, and it's honestly become one of our favorite spots. We've been here to watch Dodger games, Lakers games, grab dinner, or just have a couple of drinks after work, and we've always had a great experience. **Parking** Parking is extremely easy here. You can park in the underground garage at the Marriott, take the elevator up to the main floor that is right in front of Five55. They also validate parking if you use the Marriott garage. If you'd rather not park there, there's plenty of parking at the Atlantic Square shopping center across the street, and it's only a quick walk over. **Atmosphere** This is without a doubt one of the best places around to watch live sports. There are TVs all over the bar, so wherever you're sitting you'll have a good view. One thing I really like is that they don't just play one game on every TV. If there's a Dodger game, Lakers game, UFC, World Cup, football, or multiple games happening at once, they'll have everything on throughout the bar so everyone can watch what they came for. One thing that really stood out to me the first time I walked in was all the Dodgers memorabilia and decor throughout the bar. Even if you're not there specifically for sports (like my wife who's favorite basketball player is Troy Bolton...), it's still just a fun place to hang out. **Service** The service is honestly what keeps us coming back, and a big reason for that is Max, the bar manager, and his staff, Lou, Ryan, and everyone else who works there. From the first time we met him, he was easy to talk to. We ended up chatting about sports, tattoos, and just random life stuff while sitting at the bar. He runs a great team, and every server and bartender we've had has been friendly and attentive. What really stood out to us was how knowledgeable he is when it comes to cocktails. My wife isn't much of a drinker and she's really picky, so ordering a drink usually comes with a lot of questions. Max never rushed her. He explained what was in each cocktail, what it tasted like, whether it was sweeter or stronger, and helped her narrow it down until she found something she'd actually enjoy. That kind of service is hard to find. He definitely went above and beyond what you normally expect, and it's one of the reasons we keep coming back. **Food** The food has honestly been better than I expected. I've had the LA Dog, Lemon Pepper Wings, and the Corn Riblets, burgers and friends, and they've all been really good. My wife has ordered the Miso Honey Glazed Salmon, Fish & Chips, and the Ribeye Bowl, and she's enjoyed every one of them. Everything has come out pretty quickly, and we've never had an issue with the quality. The menu has a a lot of variety and they always have seasonal offerings. **Drinks** We've tried quite a few drinks over the different times we've been here, and I honestly can't think of one we didn't like. My go-to is always the Espresso Martini. That's the drink I judge every bar by, and Max makes one of the best I've had. If a bartender can make a great Espresso Martini, I usually trust them with the rest of the cocktail menu. The Whiskey Sour, Old Fashioned, Paloma, Lychee Margarita, and Moscow Mule have all been excellent too. There is always a great balance of alcohol and the other components. If you are not a drinker like my wife, the staff can always recommend a good one based on your preference. Overall, Five55 has become one of our regular spots, and it's easy to see why. Really nice ambience. The staff seemed disengaged considering there were only about 10 people in there during my visit. I stopped by for a drink, but decided to just get dessert and maybe circle back later for drinks when the crown picked up. I order the cookie dough brownie because the description sounded amazing. However, what I received looked pretty but fell flat. It's was definitely more cake than brownie or cookie dough. And didn't have much flavor in either category. Flatbread pizza is bomb too - baby changing table in BOTH restrooms for mommy's and daddy's - lots of TVs playing sports - private room available with your own TV and board games. MAYRA was our server and I am so grateful for how she made the experience so enjoyable and easy to manage. We had 9 different families and accommodated separate checks. NO questions asked. I typically hear it's limited to 2 or 3 bills, and you must this and that. She served each family efficiently, our orders were accurate and she was so attentive. The food and drinks were good. Never heard of a quiet sports bar but Five55 hit the spot in a part of town where restaurants are few and far in between. We came to happy hour on a Friday and it was nearly empty so we were seated right away. I'm not much of a drinker so I only ordered the short rib quesadilla except it was a more of a meat-dilla because there wasn't any cheese. Normally, I wouldn't complain but the meat was pretty dry and so salty that the cheese would've made it so much better and added a gooey texture to bring the short rib together. I liked that it came with both guac and cheese on the side. The ambience is very relaxing and the interior is spacious with varying tables for large groups and small ones. The service is also good with the waiters checking in on my group often asking if they wanted to order more drinks. read more
