I came here after a long day at work with a coworker and it was exactly what we needed. It had great happy hour food and drinks. We shared tacos, fries, and wings, and everything hit the spot. We got so happy, we forgot to take pictures of our delicious food. There are plenty of parking with a lot behind the building plus nearby free structures, which is always a bonus. It is a fun atmosphere, good vibes, and a great place to unwind after work. It is definitely a fun hang out spot. We would definitely come back again!

Here for the happy hour to grab some food and beer to catch up. We ordered fried calamari and nachos. The fried calamari was all tentacles, a bit over cooked and greasy. There's quite a bit of cheese on the nachos. However, the melted cheese was a gloppy mess and the chips were stale. The beer flavor had a good flavor though. The waitress came by and asked how's everything, we mentioned the chips were stale so she switched out a new one for us. But it's still stale... Beer selection is very decent here. It's a lively bar. But our experience with food here was not great this time.

My husband and I love to come here for date night! We always get their beer flights as well which is not pictured, since we can never remember which ones we like or didn't care for they have a plethora of beers to choose from so if you are like us and want to sample them all, get a flight! The food is always delicious, our favorite is definitely the jalapeño chorizo pizza! Service is always super friendly & helpful offering great recommendations! We love coming here and will continue to come back

Post-work St. Paddy's Day date night at 38 Degrees Ale House & Grill did not disappoint! The green beer was festive, and the corned beef & cabbage was a must. Wings had a serious spicy kick, balanced perfectly with crispy sweet potato fries. We were quoted a 1.5-hour wait, but it flew by and was totally worth it. The lively atmosphere, great beer selection, and game-day energy made it even better, especially catching the World Baseball Classic. Fun, flavorful, and perfect for a casual date night or hangout. Will definitely be back for more! @jhennybventures (ig & tiktok)

This place seemed like a cool stop to eat and grab a drink. The inside was calm and sophisticated. My pizza was soo good! This one should stay on their menu. The service was ok and waiter was friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

We came here for happy hour. Got the tacos and paloma margarita. Food and drinks were overall okay. Pricing is reasonable for hapoy hour. On the day that we went, they messed up our orders a couple of times. I do enjoy how lively it was and how they put on sports.

The food was so tasty I didn't even get a picture of it! My friend and I stopped by for their happy hour during a weekday and split a beef brisket smokehouse bbq tray with a side of green beans and fries. Their garlic aioli is divine. Stefanie was our server and she was phenomenal. She recommended the hibiscus margarita with Tajín and it did not disappoint. The space is quite roomy and we were able to sit off to the side to enjoy a some quiet away from the crowd.

Came during a busy day since a dodgers game was on. Calamari was probably the best thing we ate. I didnt use the dip though because it kinda tasted like bbq sauce? I liked the fish tacos because it was crispy but not the sauce they added on it. I think its the same sauce they use for their wings. It was interesting but ruined it. I tried their brisket and it wad a bit dried. Felt like they boiled it the sliced it up. Service was great though!

Dropped in to 38 Degrees, our local go-to spot, to eat, drink, and catch the Dodgers game--and the place delivered across the board. We checked in with the hostess and were seated right away. It was busy but not uncomfortably packed, which made for a fun but relaxed vibe. We walked over, but if you're driving, there's a parking lot located right behind the restaurant--super convenient. We landed right in the middle of Happy Hour, which was perfect. We ordered a mix of IPAs, a whiskey flight, and a couple of solid Old Fashioneds. For food, we went with the calamari, brisket nachos, and some side orders of carrots and celery to balance things out a bit. The energy in the room was great, with the Dodgers game and NBA Finals playing on multiple TVs. Everyone was locked in and having a good time--exactly the atmosphere you want from a neighborhood ale house. Big shoutout to Adam, who took care of us all night. Attentive, polite, and on top of it. Service was smooth, and we never had to flag anyone down. Highlights: - Happy Hour deals worth showing up for - Great drink selection: beer, whiskey flights, cocktails - TVs everywhere for live sports - Walkable and parking lot access behind the building - Excellent service (ask for Adam!)

38 degrees is a spacious bar with multiple TVs to watch games with local fans. Stopped by for a drink and appetizers and got the ceviche and poke. Pricing was reasonable with the bill being around 70 for a group of 4. We were seated quickly with options to choose where we sat and our server was professional. The drink and food was good, nothing in particularly extraordinary. Great choice to pick as your regular bar, but not if you're looking for a special night out. I'm sure we'll be back one day.

Nice offer. Used it in calamari (good) ended up paying $4. with entree Pork Cheek Sandwich $15.

The menus change constantly and although it says on the door that sundays there's $2off all tap beers it isn't. So it's good to ask or look at their most updated menu. I come here once in a while for the beer since it's close by. Today we had a Pranqster (North Coast Brewing) which is a Belgian I believe. It's good, 3.7/5 for me. The Lucky Bunny with a Chainsaw Hazy IPA which was great! It was a Sunday special for $6 a pint. 4.8/5 for me.

One of my favorite places to eat for lunch! The food is always delicious. They have a really great happy hour menu. The drinks are good. I love that they have a large variety of beer on tap. The restaurant is very spacious. They have large screen tv throughout the bar so it's a great place for game night. This is also a cute spot for date night. The servers and owner are always so kind!

Ordered and it was vodka soda, so I told the guy who took our order, I watched him make the second drink and he used the liquid pump for the soft drinks, unfortunately again, no tonic, it tasted the same. I really didn't want to send it back a second time, but my daughter told me, how are they supposed to know if I don't say anything. So I did, I explained it was still the same, no sweetness, just bland, tonic normally has sugar, I explained maybe the package they were using, was out of whatever? I didn't realize they used syrups like for soda or carbonation, I always saw bars use tonic from a bottle. The guy took it back a third time and I watched the other bartender taste it, at that time I saw them changing something underneath the bar, he brought back the third drink, it was cloudy and did taste better, but at this point I was over it, I had one drink there for my birthday, and left after that. Super disappointed. I have to say when they closed down, (still not sure why) I wasn't surprised. I had some good times there due to the staff, but other members of the staff could be difficult. Several times over charged, and not very accommodating when I had to complain, but we would still go back. After this I don't think I will be back anytime soon. Nothing was updated during the year they were closed, they said they were renovating, not true. The woman's restroom still had broken hand towel dispensers, and soap dispensers, the door lock to the handicapped stall is still messed up. Nothing at all changed to make any upgrades. Really makes you wonder why they closed down to begin with, or shut down?

I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

I miss some of the menu items like the lentil shepherd's pie, but we have very much enjoyed the hearty English breakfast. They also have a good selection of European beers on tap. Service has been friendly, but it is lightly staffed and pretty slow, so it's not a good place if you are in a hurry. They don't keep an eye on the patio, so if you sit out there, it's best to go inside and let them know. They also seem to have more rules than before - but I have to imagine these have come from experience. I don't think this is an ideal place to go with a large group. If it's a quiet night you might be able to pull tables together long-ways, but most tables seem ideal for 2-4. We come with our dog and sit on the patio when it isn't busy. The dog meals are massive (more food than ours eats in a whole day and she weighs 60 lbs). It's a good value, but beware if your dog is on a diet! Vibes of the pub were generally good, but our server was unexpectedly rude. Everyone inside wore wristbands designating whether they were 21+ or under 21, checked by the bouncer at the door. I already had my 21+ wristband on when I walked in, but this server still accused me of lying about my age and demanded to see my ID in front of a crowd of people. It was needlessly humiliating, and she was also curt to my entire party when taking our orders; she just seemed annoyed and irritated. Small joint but they have a few bar seats and picnic tables inside and a nice outdoor patio with more seating. They don't offer food but usually have a food truck outside. For example, they have a Spanish Language Brewery Meet-up every 3rd Thursday from 7:30-9:30pm monthly. Parking is street only so be mindful of the neighbors. There is no food service at this location but they seem to partner with a couple food trucks serving tacos. Some inside open air seating but the main draw is the relaxing patio. I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. Free Wifi with log-in is a bonus!
