I had the poor luck of my phone going nuts on me right before bed (and by nuts, I mean, it went from screen freezing to just plain no screen use). I lost sleep all night waiting for these guys to open in the morning, hoping, praying and doing any kind of juju dance possible, they just might be able to pull off the impossible: get my screen working so I could backup my phone and my photos. Bashir was so helpful: he was friendly, quick, efficient and gave it to me straight, no bs (like: I need to open this up. I will test another new screen to see if that's the issue and if it is, then we fixed the problem. But if its not, then it might be XYZ, but without opening the phone up, I can't guarantee it is the screen issue). I was in and out of there in like 20 min (I thought he was going to give me a typical "It'll be 3 hours" speel and no eye contact, maybe some attitude). It felt like I was having a conversation with a friend rather while sitting there having my phone fixed, rather than fretting and biting my nails into oblivion. Service was great. The price is not cheap, but for how quick the fix was and my baby's photos, I imagine there can't really be a "price" can there? Thank you guys! read more

On October 6th of 2025, at approximately 15:00 I was in the Fix My Phone store located at 550 N Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 It was Monday, It was a clear day, with a summertime climate, I walked in the store and explained what had happened with my phone. I was told by the store employee that it would cost $300 to replace my phone screen, because the product/item being used as a replacement is a Samsung product/part. I kindly asked the staff member to see the breakdown on the computer that shows a detailed description of how and why he was charging me $300 to replace my phone screen for my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.  He refused to show me the price and the breakdown of the price in the system/computer. Prior to our interaction, I was present waiting in line when he allowed a female Latina customer to look at the computer. He had turned the computer to her so she could see and understand everything he was discussing with her. After they finished, he turned the computer back to his view and angle. When it was my turn, I asked him if I could see on the computer what I am paying for and he said No. More than once, I politely asked but he refused every time. All of the sudden, he says he doesn't speak English after he was just speaking perfectly with me in English. There were 2 gentleman that were in the store at the time. They decided to assist by conversing with the staff member in Spanish and they told him what I requested. He told them in Spanish that he understood and understands what I was requesting but that's just the price. By the way, I am fluent in Spanish. As a result, I feel discriminated against since my complexion did not match everyone's who came in the store. The Basis for discrimination: I was discriminated against based on my appearance and race, as evidenced by the different treatment I received and the staff member's sudden and implausible claim of not speaking English. This is also a deceptive practice: For refusing to provide me with a detailed breakdown of a $300 service, while providing one to another customer. Combined with the sudden language barrier claim. Not authentic Apple iPhone battery installed. My phone says it doesn't recognize it! I was quoted 79 over the phone. price went up to 89 when I got there which I could have lived with if it were not an aftermarket battery. Live and learn! I went in to get my iPhones screen fixed, When I got it back my face ID was not working. I went back and the lady immediately tried to avoid blame and said it was just My phone, even though the tech that works there that I spoke to earlier said the screen might be faulty. After arguing they finally changed the screen again and of course everything worked BUT a few weeks in the whole screen just started coming off, never seen that before, and when I went back of course the same lady immediately just tried to avoid responsibility and wanted me to pay for another screen. iPhone 5 touch pad not working. After FMP did their work, the camera wouldn't work, many other built-in functions didn't work (e.g., Control Center and light) and touch screen didn't respond consistently. I returned to FMP. They "put in a different new screen" (untrue) and said they didn't work on the camera. Problems remain. BOTTOM LINE: The screen replacement FMP uses has hardware restrictions so many Apple built-in functions won't work: camera, light, control center. If I wasn't due for a Verizon phone upgrade in Jan., I'd ask for my money back from FMP. read more

Took phone to the back room, received it back 15 minutes later. Phone was charged only 70%. Thought if I charge it at home it goes up to 100% - did NOT happen. First day after battery exchange- still not holding up. Second day: charge went down even faster than before exchange. 3rd day, phone did not even charge any more. A couple hours later, when on 30% and I in the middle of writing a text: phone dies completely!! Not sure who is writing them their "good" reviews but this place is not anywhere close to trustworthy. Zagg phone repair said my iPhone charging port was ruined & needed a replacement part, if I could even get it. Took my phone into Fix My Phone - took the gentleman less than 1 minute to peer into the port, extract the offending piece of metal which had broken off from a faulty charger, blow in some compressed air & voila! Phone was good as new! And no charge for his trouble! I cannot thank this man enough & will be sure to bring any future cell phone problems there for him to address. read more

Dont waste your time! So my ipad mini with retina screen cracked and this location was the cheapest and most convenient to get it fixed. Upon walking into the random shop the manager/owner seemed friendly and eager to help. He told me to return in four hours and when I did the screen was in tact. Silly me for not testing the device while in the store. Later that evening the battery on my functioning ipad mini was low but when I went to charge it, it would not accept the charge. I called, got a welcoming response to bring it back for fixing and it all went down hill from there. Long story short he couldnt fix it, the display developed a rainbow and the ipad never charged. He gave me his cord which worked but the plan was to take it to apple for a follow up and give him a response. After that plan was set, I have not heard from him again. Texts, calls, messages and possibly a new manager but no follow up... I would not recommend this business at all. Shady practices, zero follow up, broken promises and that was from the owner. I had the screen of my iPhone 5 replaced here. I noticed that things aren't going the way they are supposed to here and I think you should avoid this place. The first strange thing was that I did not get a receipt, although I did have to fill out a form when I dropped off the phone. How do I prove I have left my device behind for repair without a receipt? The second strange thing was that the guy asked me for my phone's PIN code. I refused to provide it. I'd had the screen replaced before at another place that did not need my PIN and I just don't like to give out access codes to my phone, my bank account, or anything. It is wrong to put one in this situation and, again, I am sure it's not necessary. When I returned for my phone, the screen appeared to be dirty and the guy wiped it with his shirt (!). There was no protective film on the screen. When I left and cleaned the screen myself (the shirt did not do a very good job), I noticed a small nick in the screen along the right edge. I thought a tool used for the repair left an imprint. During the following few days the screen often froze and the phone did not respond. I returned to the shop and complained. The guy apologized and said he was going to put in a new screen. When I picked up the phone a few hours later, the screen had a protective foil on it but there were lots of bubbles under the film. The phone seemed to work fine so I left. When I removed the film, I noticed that dirt and lint has accumulated along the corners on the adhesive surface. I also found the same old nick on the edge. This screen was not new at all. The film was just put on it to give me the impression that it was replaced. The phone still freezes from time to time but it is the dishonest practice of deception that is a red line for me. Stay away from this business. read more

Ya know when you walk in the door the LAST thing you expect to give is a 5 star review. There's four or five different shops running outta the same location. Let those questions go and hand the phone over. I was concerned when no one here on YELP would say what they paid. The sure sign of the owner posting reviews and not giving prices away. I called and told them my 4S front glass was broken - they said $65 and 45 minutes - and BINGO. $65 and 40 minutes. REALLY nice guys. Funny and smart. They did a great job - charged what was quoted and the phone looks - really - better than new. I hope I never have to use them again - but i WILL recommend them to everyone and if I DO break another phone they will be my first stop. read more

I took in an old iPhone 6 that randomly died on my one night that the Apple Store told me was water damaged and not reparable. The guy, I never got his name, told me he would do a free diagnosis and if it didn't work then it didn't work. I had also brought in an iPhone 5 with a shattered screen so he knew he would get some kind of business. He was very nice with the bargaining. I went and grabbed lunch and when I came back, good news! He had gotten the iPhone 6 to turn on. I guess it had a bad screen and bad battery. I'm giving a 4 star right now because a day later the phone is heating up very badly and is dying very fast but he did say he would give me a 30 day warranty so I will update after I return to the store and see if he can fix the problem. I was very surprised that he was able to fix it and the Apple Store just "took it in the back" and labeled it broken and made me buy a whole new phone. This guy is very nice and very fast! I come back and voila phone screen is repaired but now theres a rainbow spot in the upper right hand corner that the rep gave me some twisted story about the lcd touching the glass and he cant push it down because...his aunts grandmothers cat licked the terminals and now it has cancer (kidding) Didnt quite understand why but the colored spot was not there while my phone was cracked. Not satisfied and if it was just the colored spot it would be ok but it was the Rep's professionalism that made me "Skin up my nose" He kept handling and talking to three different customers at the same time. Me, a couple and then a man. Felt like we were Borgs in Star Trek. "We are the Fixits and we will repair your phones with our mighty touch, comply! resistance is futile" No. Dont assimilate me into your current clients handling. The workers here are very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Their help and work was very prompt - which highly appreciated. The shop is a little hard to find because the sign is a banner rather than a light up sign but it's not hidden; it's right next to the AT&T store. Both the front and back sides of my iPhone 4 were shattered and I went in to get this fixed. I used a December special on their facebook page (like and share a post and get a screen replacement for $65) for my visit. The worker knew about this and happily accepted it. After signing a form, I was told to come back after 45 minutes. The store is located within a shopping center with places to shop and eat so there's a lot to do during that time. He didn't realize that the back side of my phone was shattered too and later called to ask if I wanted that fixed too. It's usually $50 but he offered to do it for me for $20. It was a nice gesture but I'm trying to save money and am planning to put a case on the phone anyways, so I refused. I came back after 40 minutes and it was already finished and ready for me. I drove all the way out to Gaithersburg because of the good reviews on this place and hoped they could fix the charging issues with my Galaxy S3. The short version is that he is completely honest, the price quoted over the phone was the same in person (unlike a previous reviewer stated). Customer service is excellent and her seems to know what he is talking about. Several customers were in/out and he has a good reputation. In the end, he couldn't fix my phone. He spent about 30 minutes working on it and in the end, didn't charge me (he didn't end up replacing the port), but still, he was out his time. I went in with a cracked Galaxy S4 screen. In just a few hours, I had a new screen for $100. The staff was friendly and the whole experience was painless. I brought my husband's Ipad in to have the screen repaired. I called in advance, got a quote for $120, and showed up within the hour. The very nice gentleman that took the Ipad told me it would be ready that afternoon, but I picked it up the next morning. When I showed up, the Ipad had other issues - with the brightness or other unknown problems. They worked on it for a few more hours, while I counted my losses. I got a call saying it was ready later that day, and it was as good as new! Plus, they didn't even charge extra for the additional labor or fixing. WARNING-ALL DATA LOST FROM PHONE AFTER SCREEN REPAIR I brought my phone in for a simple screen repair. The first thing I asked the service representative was if my data (photos-texts, etc.) would be lost. I was told by the service representative that my data would NOT be lost. I confirmed this response twice, the service representative guaranteed me that my data would not be lost. I was told that the phone screen would be replaced, period. When I picked up the phone the service representative told me he was "updating" my phone. When I dropped off the phone I was told that the screen would be replaced and my data would not be lost. I was NEVER informed that my phone would be updated. The service representative terminated the update upon my arrival, instructing me to finish the update at home, as he needed to close shop. When I returned home I followed the instructions provided, to hold the power and home button until my computer recognized the device. I was them instructed to select "update" of the options provided. Upon completing the update, ALL of my data (5 years of photos and text messages- to include photos of my child from age 4 years to 9 years were lost). When I contacted the service representative, I was told that he informed me that my data may have been lost and that he may need to do an update. BOTH COMPLETE LIES. As I even had a witness to the original service appointment. The representative did offer a complete refund, however, he would need to replace the fixed screen with a broken screen in order for me to get a refund! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I took my iphone 6 in expecting to have the charging port replaced because for years I have periodically cleaned lint out of the port to get it so it would charge again. It had gotten to the place that I was still having serious charging problems even after cleaning it out. They gave me a quote for repair and when I returned to pick it up he said "good news it didn't need to be replaced just cleaned real good". It turns out there was dust in the corners of the charging port that I wasn't able to get to. I value honesty and great customer service and my experience proved them to be very trustworthy. Tl; dr cracked phone they fixed it but it broke again and they covered it under their warranty Had a cracked screen on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Upon walkin they offered a 3 hour repairtime, but had no fixed prices. I haggled a little. The phone was fixed in great time but now showed a scratch in the panel beneath the glass. Another customer recieved poor service next to me at the time. After days of use my screen got worse. The crack effected the whole phone and rendered it unusable. Fearing a similar encounter as the lady, I got in touch with them and they explained my situation was different than the other customers. Went here as a last ditch effort to save my phone and ended up leaving with happy tears in my eyes! iPhone randomly stopped charging and then wouldn't turn on anymore. I was heart broken because it had pictures of my kids on it (and not backed up) that I really didn't want to lose. Took it to the "Genius Bar" at Montgomery Mall and after briefly glancing at my phone, the salesperson told me that the logic board was fried because I had used an unauthorized 3rd party charger or I had lost service during an iOS update (neither of those things had happened). He told me my pictures were gone, that I needed to buy a new phone and sent me on my way. Took it to Fix My Phone where the very nice salesperson asked me if the Genius Bar had tested the battery or opened up the phone. The answer was clearly "no" because in a matter of minutes, she opened the phone and discovered that it was just a dead battery and that pictures were still safely stored on my phone. Cue the happy mom tears. A few minutes later and she had installed a new battery for $50. Highly recommend this place! read more

Stay away as much as you can. Long story short, couldn't fix my ipad. It took almost two months to tell me they cant fix it. How many times did they call me? Two. How many times i called them? More than ten! How many times i went there? 5! They claimed that since we were unable to fix the ipad; they will give me my money back that they have charged me upfront. Guess what! After going there two more times and making five phone calls because the money was not back after two weeks; thanks to the bank i got my money back by opening a dispute. Under the impression I went to the right place I asked how much and was told $140 + 1-hour In all fairness that was true to the quote they gave me on here before I got there but the woman's attitude, disbelief, and superiority complex when I said I was quoted me $109 for the same repair was priceless. Will not go again. Had a iPhone 6S repair that went fine about a year ago. Second trip with a different family members 6S to replace the screen. The phone was usable when it was dropped off just a cracked screen that we wanted repaired. I went to pick up the phone and they told me they could not fix it. When I examined the phone it was now completely unusable. They had completely ruined the screen and the touch screen would not respond. We will not be returning. We took my daughter's phone in here to have it repaired. At first they seemed great. They replaced the screen in about 10 minutes. However the firs time she tried to use the phone, the screen cracked. The next day we took the phone back because they provide a 30 day warranty. He gave us a hard time about replacing the screen, saying it was our fault that the screen cracked again. He did replace the screen but did it quite grudgingly. One week later the second replacement screen cracked. When we took it back again he said that he would charge us the full fee to replace the screen again. There must be something wrong with the screens they were using because we found a different place and had the screen replaced there. Picked up the next day, they wanted to charge me (additional) $130 for parts, and the phone still not working. So I asked them to pull out their parts (I wasn't going to pay $130 for a broken phone). Came back again the third time to pick up the phone, only to go home and found out my phone is now less than paper weight. There were many parts missing (screws, brackets, camera and other components). They didn't even clean out the water residue in the phone The service was horrible. Absolute rip off !!! Stay away !!! Let me narrate my whole story. My MOTO X wouldn't stay on. So I called him before going to his place, and confirmed his availability. 1. It is not a repair center. It is a one man place, of 6 by 6 size, in some corner of a small key shop. 2. In less than 2 seconds after I handed over the phone, he said it is an LCD issue and it would cost more to fix. I showed him the beautiful graphics that shows up on starting. It just shuts down after that. So it cannot be the LCD. He as taken aback. 3. Then he said it would be a battery issue, and it would cost money to diagnose it. I agreed. He tried opening it, but couldn't. The MOTO X has a wire connected to the back of the phone. He then said he has a lot of other phones to attend to, and he cannot get to it today. I told him about the phone call confirmation. He was visibly upset. 4. Meanwhile he got a phone call. Should have been another customer. He asked him what phone is it and what is the problem. Then he said, "let me check how much does the part cost. hold on". He kept the phone in mute for 30 seconds (without checking anything) and later said "it would cost about $120 for the parts and services". 5. Then he got to my phone. He kept trying for a few minutes by still couldn't figure out how to open it. Then he asked me, if he should continue even if it damages the phone. WTF !!! I walked out.
