I couldn't fix it myself because I don't have a rack at home. I went to an Aamco Transmission shop next door to Automotive Technicians, only to find it had closed its doors for business. Automotive Technicians was next door to Aamco. So I walked across the parking lot. I've been to Automotive Technicians twice: once to set up an appointment, and once to show up for the appointment. Both times I walked up to the counter, the man there (identified as Charles-something) NEVER looked me in the face. I had to initiate a "Hello" to even get a response. He constantly looked at something under the counter top (a computer?), forcing me to converse with the top of his head. During the first visit Charles was dismissive and rude, never looking at me, but giving constant sarcastic responses about my experience and my requests. As I tried to converse, two mechanics walked in from the shop and were quite friendly. I set up an appointment for the work to be done first thing in the morning since I would have to wait with the car and couldn't leave. I left after sharing a couple stories with the mechanics about past experiences with customers. Leaving, I felt apprehensive that Charles had been shady and I might be cheated and overcharged for simple work. He definitely didn't make any effort to get my business. RED FLAG A few days later I arrived first thing in the morning for my appointment. Again, from the top of his head, I was told that there were 5 cars ahead of me: three already in the shop that had beat me there, and two left from the previous day. As I stood there, two mechanics showed up for work. I had beaten them to the shop! Yet supposedly they were working on three cars already. The ensuing conversation divulged that no other mechanics had arrived yet. There were no other customers there, so the five cars must have been dropped off and their owners were not waiting. I was actually there with an APPOINTMENT to wait with my car, yet these other cars took precedence! This reinforced my feeling of something shady going on, and I was about to be cheated. RED FLAG! I had called ahead to ask if they had found a complicated transmission gasket that was needed and was told they would make one. Obviously they had no clue about this gasket! I knew this gasket was very complicated and not one that could easily be made by hand. Since I was paying the rate of $160/hour, I was concerned about purchasing a $10 gasket versus them making one that might cost $80 to $120 (30-45 minutes) in time involved. RED FLAG! I also asked if I could check the front ball joints and tie rod ends while the car was up on the rack. Charles complained that I was adding work to the job. I replied that as a mechanic I could do the 5 minute job and not involve his mechanic at all. Now his response was that customers were not allowed in the shop. Per his previous responses, I thought he was being sarcastic, so I asked if he was serious. He replied yes, and very sarcastically asked the mechanics if they thought the owner would allow it. Every shop I've ever been to will walk customers back to their cars to show them problems the mechanic had found in order to verify if the customer will allow the repair. This set another RED FLAG about their operation. CONCLUSION: Charles had barely looked me in the face on two occasions. He gave me the feeling that he was shady, and I was about to be cheated. He denied me, an experienced mechanic, access to the shop, reinforcing the impression that something shady was going on back there, and I wasn't supposed to see it. My total impression was that they would pull the car into the shop, barely touch it, and back it out never having completed the requested work. And I couldn't verify it, because it was under the car where I couldn't see to it. I took my keys and walked out. I don't care how long they've been in business; my recommendation is to AVOID this shop. I believe that Charles is bad news, shady, and bound to take advantage of anyone he can.

Easy color & simply to the right of engine. Speaking with an out of town brother of the situation who is an excellent auto mechanic had a laugh. Plan was to pay off over priced Luke's work & drive to the state he lived in where he would do what's needed. Sadly, seemed more important paying off Luke's prior driving to the excellent auto mechanic of my brother. Passed away while paying off Luke's. Personal, yeah. Nonetheless, I'd say research prior Luke's. Pricey analysis not added to completed work as they stated. I have the paperwork. Gave them an excellent review at the time being happy to drive my vehicle again. I'd say now, research & buyer beware.

Well needless to say I will not be taking my car there ever again they only changed the back brakes and put a new EGR on. We were told the oil was changed but they forgot to check some fluids and for me to bring.it in the next morning and they would check them. She told my husband to bring the car in at 11 A.M. when I arrived this morning she told me that she told him 10 which was a bold face like seeing as how she didn't get there till 10:30 so I took it to another shop and they put it on a lift and come to find out my oil was NEVER changed no oil was on the dipstick and the oil filter was old and dirty then when they drained the oil it was coal black and there was only 2 1/2 quarts of oil in my truck but they made sure to charge me for it!!!! So please take your automobiles to a shop that knows what they are doing and actually do what they say they are going to do.

I went to Luke's about a month ago, because I needed to get my transmission flushed. I was…read moreincredibly happy with the service. First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time. I lost no time with Luke's and knew exactly what was happening to my car. Take your car to Luke's if you want incredible service.

I recently had the water pump replaced on my vehicle at Luke's Auto Shop. Unfortunately, shortly…read moreafter the repair, I discovered that a coolant hose clamp associated with the water pump had been left improperly installed. This caused coolant to leak into the engine bay and could have led to much more serious engine damage if it hadn't been caught quickly. A mistake like this is concerning because the cooling system is a critical component, and something as basic as verifying that all hose clamps are properly secured should be part of every final inspection before a vehicle is returned to the customer. That said, I also believe it's important to recognize when a business makes a genuine effort to address a problem. Once the issue was brought to the shop's attention, the service manager handled the situation professionally. While the original workmanship issue should not have occurred, he did what he could to make the situation right by listening to my concerns, arranging for the vehicle to be checked over, and working to restore my confidence in the repair. No repair shop is immune to mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled matters. In this case, the initial repair fell short of the standard I expected, but the service manager's professionalism and willingness to stand behind the work improved what could have been a much worse experience. Overall, I hope the shop strengthens its quality-control procedures to ensure critical items like coolant hose connections are verified before vehicles leave the shop. If they do, I believe they can provide a much more consistently positive customer experience.
