One of the worst experiences I've had trying to fix a phone. Went in with a perfectly working iPhone 5 with a cosmetic screen shatter, which they fixed. Shortly after the screen replacement the touch was not responding (touching keys on its own, not recognizing my touch etc.) Only way to use my phone was the "voice to text" feature. Brought it back and they said they would put a whole new screen on for free, they did. Again, brought my phone home and it was having the same problems. Bring phone back a final time and they said they see this problem a lot with the iPhone 5, that I need to get a whole new phone now. My $90 repair now costs me a whole new phone as my phone is completely unusable and the only thing they had to say is that it happens frequently with the iPhone 5. I'm now about $700 in debt for a new phone and as a student this puts me in an extremely tight position. Not to mention during the whole two week process I had called and left several voicemails to the store, never picked up the phone, never returned my calls. These people are idiots!! They had my iMac desktop for a month, A MONTH!! I kept calling them but keep getting a voicemail, I left few voicemails but nobody has called back. Then I finally decided to go over there in person, the guy at the counter didn't have answer for me so he kept going to the back of the store to check with the "tech" that was working on it, this is how that conversation vent: " is my computer diagnosed?" "Let me check" he goes in the back where they do "repairs" " the tech opened it and closed it" "And"? "Let me check" Comes back: " he stepped out for a minute" WTF? Did he say what the problem is? No, I'll check it personally, the guy behind counter said, and give you a call He calls me day after and says that they can't find what's wrong with it and I can come and pick it up, after 29 days, and of course, it's free of charge Took the computer to Apple store they diagnosed it and fixed it in two days and the problem was: Misaligned video card, which is, according to apple tech, simple thing to diagnose and fix I would give 0 stars if I could read more

I have had my phones repaired on the spot by this company more than once, and my Macbook screen too. Always nice, informative, and even offered to give me help on some program related questions I had. I'm very pleased with them, and yes one time the iPhone had a glitch with the speaker not working correctly, and they fixed the issue right away. You're better off sending your device to actual professionals. These guys act like they know what they're doing, but in reality they're the opposite of a "Genius". Go here and risk having your device completely broken by these "professionals". I basically paid Fix that Mac to make my functional device into a nonfunctional bricked device. I had a completely functional iPhone 6 that just had a cosmetically ugly broken screen. Everything worked, the device just had a broken screen. Unfortunately, I decided to go for the convenience over shipping my device to apple for cheaper, big mistake. I turned my phone in to Fix that Mac and told them to take their time, as I didn't want them to screw up. I pick my device up and it looked nice. However, the touch screen did not work on half of the screen. I had to immediately take it back on the SAME DAY I got it repaired. They attempt to fix the problem in front of me, yet they end up screwing up the device enough where they need to take it back in for a day. I tell them to take their time as long as they fix it. I call them back 4 days later and Tyler said the phone was functional and ready for pick up. I come in after a hour drive to pick the device up and am told that my phone is completely broken now. Not only was I lied to over the phone, but they completely ruined my iPhone. They told me the logic board was messed up and they couldn't do anything about it, despite them being a phone repair store. The phone went from completely functional to completely inoperable because of their mistake. The manager declined to fix his mistake and wouldn't compensate me at all for their mistake. He told me he couldn't do anything due to the form I signed and had no remorse to me; even though It wasn't even day one of the "60 day warranty". I am a student and had absolutely no way to pay for a new phone at full price so this hit me hard. I turned my phone in completely functional and paid them to make my phone completely useless. I had my device evaluated by a 3rd party and they told me they bricked my device by putting the screws in the wrong place, completely crushing my logic board. DO NOT come here if you can't afford paying for a new device at full price. They are unprofessional and horrible at communicating. No one should lie to a customer and not be willing to fix their own mistake. Because of Fix that Mac's unprofessionalism I am $600 in debt. You would be better off watching a YouTube video and doing it yourself. Or just be smart and go to the Apple store. You have my warning. read more

It's all true. I took in a Mac computer and iPad I was told by others I would have to add memory to the Mac in order to sync them and move stuff to the iPad. Hauled it all in, and by golly, they clicked and played around most patiently with me, not the most computer savvy soul, and after fully a half hour of time were ready to send me on my way. I offered a couple of sawbucks for their time. Totally amazing. While I was there, they were also juggling phone calls, other walk-ins, fix-its, etc., all with great kindness and good humor. One parking hint, turn in the alley behind the building and go around to the right, park along the wood fence where signs indicate Todos Santos Plaza parking ok. You go around the front of the Thai place to go in Fix that Mac. I'm never going near another Apple store, ever! read more

I upgraded my 2010 iMac with an SSD drive it could not have been easier. I dropped it off at the end of my day and it was ready to pick up at noon the next day!! Wow!! I had to go back three times because the glass they replaced on my iphone 6 (large size) was faulty and caused the phone to malfunction. Each time they apologized and said it must be a faulty batch but it kept happening because they did not take the time to test the phone. They even kept my iphone case and when I called I told them that I did not want to take another trip and would they mail it to me. I was told that they would but they didn't and I never got it back! I'm a senior and am the last person to ever complain but this was horrible service. read more

This is our go-to Mac service shop. We are a Mac household and used to frequent the Mac store in Walnut Creek until the noisy, frenetic atmosphere and forever wait times made it as appealing as the periodontist. Now we take everything Mac here and have never been disappointed. Old Mac, new Mac, iPhone or iPad...no problem. Do not use this place!!! I went in and was told "no problem" we can fix the lap top! But after a month of no return calls and delay after delay and being on hold for 10 minutes at a time I went in and nothing was done. They just said sorry we were not able to get a hard drive for the compute after having a whole month REALLY!!!!!!?!. I think they were stoned and forgot to work on it. It made me worried they were dong something illegal. I will never go back there. It's to bad I have a lot of other Apple issues and would have liked to use them. They need some decent customer service training in how to return calls, tell the truth, and give information to their customers. A couple weeks ago i broke my iphone 6s screen and took it into this place..Been there a couple times before at other location..Anyway the guy behind the counter quotes me 180.00 to install a new screen..I said thats pretty expensive he said that its a special screen and more expensive for iphone 6 s I was in a hurry..he thru in an otterbox to prevent future breakage of screen ( For free LMAO)..Yesterday I dropped it again and it broke..In otterbox..that he assured me was very effective on preventing breakage..It was a solve my problem freebee..again lol..dont get me wrong..I dont expect anything to be full-proof in life and theres more to why I will never go back..I went in..knowing that I would have to pay but..I called another local place and got a quote first..The guy at this place says "we can knock 20.00 off" hummm I paid 180.00+ tax..196.20 total for screen last time got a 22.99 otterbox for "Free"173.21 wouldve been the screen cost minus the otterbox if I paid for otterbox...i got the screen replaced for 102.00 up the street from this place..out the door..71.79 cheaper..this place is a rip off and I'd throw my phone away if I had no other choice for repair..PLEASE DO RESEARCH OF COSTS PRIOR TO GOING HERE.. read more

My wife took my MacPro tower to Fix That Mac in Concord for me 3 weeks ago because it started to display a white screen on both my monitors. They told her they would look at it and call by the next day. After waiting 3 days I called and was told they had not looked at my computer yet and would call me later that day after they had it on the bench. After waiting for two more days for a call, I called them again and asking for an update and was told that they had looked at my iMac and that it was the onboard video that was the problem. I told them that I did not have a iMac and that my MacPro Tower had a upgraded video card, they again told me they would take a look at my machine an call me later that day. After waiting another two cays I called them again and was told that they needed to reflow the processer on my video card and that in their experience that usually fixed the problem, once again they told me that they would work on my machine that day and call me the next day. After waiting 3 days this time, I called and was told that they could not fix the machine, that the video card was bad and told me to pick up the machine. They did not offer to fix the machine, order a new video card, nothing whatsoever. I have never taken a computer in to be repaired and was not at least offered a solution to fixing it, even if I decided it was not worth fixing. So based on what they told me I ordered another graphics card for my MacPro which cost me $499 (The HD 7950 Mac Edition), after swapping out the previous graphic card with the new one, I had the same issue so obivously it was not the graphic card that was the issue, I called the Fix That Mac Folks to ask them if they had swapped out the graphic card with a known good card, they told me no, when i asked them why they thought the graphic card was the issue, they told me that because they could not get any picture on the display it must be the card. Wow now I am not a expert though I do have some experience in fixing Mac's, but one of the basic troubleshooting steps is to test with a known good card, drive, memory, etc. to see if that fixes the issue. Makes me wonder just how experienced the techs working at Fix That Mac are. The only good thing is that they did not charge me anything, but I figure that is fair since from what I can tell they did not really do anything read more

The other day my screen goes white (no crack, no drop) I bring it in and they tell me it will be a free fix or a small charge for the replacement. When I walked in, I didn't know what to expect...But this place is great! I was told by the techs at the iApple store in Walnut Creek that I would need to purchase a new phone since something was stuck in my headphones port and they did not have the tools to try to fix it. I had just purchased the phone 2 months before...so I was shocked that this was the only option they could give me. The guy pulled me aside and told me to go to Fix that Mac in Concord. I ran over there and told the tech what was wrong with my phone...He pulled out some tool that looked like a pencil and stuck in into the headphones jack and a little piece of something came out and he asked me to try to my headphones to see if it would go into the port. It did! ....And it only took 30 seconds of his time! He didn't charge me a cent! The iPhone reps wanted me to spend another $250 for a new phone rather than try to fix my 2-month old phone, which only took 30 seconds to fix. The tech was laid back and friendly. I will always take my Apple products here for service. Unfortunately, I will only use the Apple store as my last resort. read more

Son broke off part of the headphone cable into the headphone jack in the Ipad. Called the Apple Store who told me to put some crazy glue on a paper clip and try to get the piece out. Uhh....NO! I called Fix That Mac and the guy told me to bring it down and he wouldn't charge me anything to get the piece out unless he had to open up the Ipad. He used dental tools and a lot of patience, but after 20 minutes, the piece was out! No Charge !! Yay! I will be returning again, I'm sure. read more

Great service. They will actually try to fix your machine at the front counter. When they couldn't, they didn't even charge me. To be truthful. they do sometimes run over on the time estimate for machines dropped off however, it is probably because they try to help at the counter. I figure just my turn to wait because I might be the next guy at the counter who walks out with a fixed machine. Competent, ethical, and reasonable. I highly recommend. read more

Terrible service, at best, decent customer support. 1) They held my hard drive for over 2 months without ever getting back to me. I dropped of my hard drive to be recovered and was told that I would get a phone call in about a week to go over my options and for me to clear them on expenses to proceed. Three weeks later I called and was told I would get called back when the guy working on my HD got back from his lunch. Never got called. This repeated a few times, I got busy and forgot about it. Over two months from the drop off I went in to ask about it and was told that I would get a call after someone else looked at it. At the end of the week, no call, I went in and picked it up. After it took 5 employees looking around in the back they procured my HD and gave it back to me. They don't know if it was worked on. At least they didn't try to charge me for holding my HD needlessly for over 2 months. 2) Much smaller problem, but a few years back I went in and told them that my hard drive cable had failed. They didn't believe or just wanted an excuse for more labor expenses, but insisted they would have to check the hard drive. I repeated that it was cable, but when I received my receipt they charged me for checking the hard drive. Turns out it was the cable, who knew? Don't go here if you have any other option, even with a longer drive. read more

I took my iPad to have the glass replaced and was told it would take 5 days max.13 days later I decided it must be fixed (I never heard from them) went in and was told it wasn't finished but if I wanted to take it I could. I don't know why I would take it back not fixed but whatever. When I did get it back they did fix the glass but the dents they said they could sand out were still there and it cost me $169 read more

I went into their office on 1/18/2013. When I went in there they told me that they were busy but that my broken screen on my iPod was an easy fix and should be done in 4 days. 4 days pass... 6 days pass.. I finally call. They let me know that they are working on it right now and will be done later today. I get a call.. they tell me it is done and I can come in and pick it up... Now based on the reviews I went to a shop in concord rather than one more local (I have to cross pay bridges to get there). When I arrive they tell me.. I am sorry it isn't done yet there is a problem but it will be done first thing Friday. Well.. Friday comes and passes finally Tuesday.. and still nothing done. I have to call them and ask for status updates on this and told each time "it is being worked on right now" If that was the case it would have been done two weeks ago. If this shop is that busy it is great for the economy.. but I really feel that I have been deceived while they work on other projects and not complete jobs that have been paid for. Went here needing my broken IPad screen replaced. I chose fix that Mac because of the high ratings on yelp, BIG MISTAKE!!!! I brought my iPad in on a Monday 11am and was told 3 to 4 business days- that would be Friday by noon. No call Friday, no call Saturday, I had to call them to find out "oh we're out of the screen, it's coming in and iPad will be ready Monday or Tues. OK , no call Monday, I again had to call on Tuesday to speak w the guy supposedly working on it " we got the screen in late Monday and I got busy this morning and didn't get to it, I'll have it ready today" REALLY???!!!! What kind of customer service is that???? I've now been w/0 my computer that I do business on, banking bill paying etc for over a week and these inept idiots don't giveaway sh* t about their customers or the service they provide.
